Hello everyone! I am fairly new to vaping but have been trying to get into it for a while. My wife was able to get right into it. We have both decided to give it a real try this time to quit smoking. We have both smoked since our teen years and are ready to quit.

So now on to my problem, I tend to have a sensitive palate. I can usually taste stuff my wife can't. This is where the problem is... I have been to 2 different local shops and tried all of their flavors and even ordered some online and nothing tastes good to me. I have gotten some that I can tolerate to a degree but cannot enjoy for very long. When my wife tastes a flavor then I taste it we have totally different outcomes.

Not sure if anyone else has this problem but I could use some advice. I have tried different mods from ciga-likes to vv/vw, still the flavors do not taste good. This is very frustrating and discouraging. My wife and I are on a fixed budget so its not like I can just order samples from everyone and hope they don't taste bad to me.

I hope I explained my problem clear enough to understand, and thanks in advance for any advice.

Welcome to ECF!

Yes, I'm seriously in the same boat. I started vaping Sept, 2015, and started to go to all the different vape shops that I could, visiting abt 10 of them in three months, visiting ECF pages on recommended e-liquids, and after spending abt $2,000 on hardware and e-liquid supplies(100+ different vendors), I've found abt 10 solid e-liquids. Note, taste is very personal.

I do recommend Charlie Noble and Element E-Liquid though. Between the two of them you should find something that you can vape.

Hello and welcome to the forum @Tazdiablo. Glad to have you here!:)

If flavors don't taste good to you, have you considered vaping unflavored?

VG (labeled glycerin) can be found at Walgreens/Walmart/Amazon. And if it works for you, you can purchase nicotine base at whatever concentration (& PG/VG ratio) you like.

howdy - and welcome !

are there any local shops that you can try juice at? lots of shops have 'tasting' bars set up

If you're chatting with me, give shops a call and see what they have. These are two fairly large co.

Element e-liquid
- Pink Lemonade, 3mg nic, 3 - 6mg nic, 1 - 12mg nic, This is the best e-liquid that I have come across to date. Lemonade. Solid vape, tons of clouds for you cloud chasers, overall excellent. When I cannot find anything great, I always return to this awesome all day vape. Running 77.5W w Aspire 0.3ohm coil on Atlantis II tank, tank air flow at max, drip tip closed for max flavor. Rock on! Absolutely nothing here to bother your throat abt in a day long hard core mouth to lung vape session at 70W, just keep the velocity of your draw very high. Looking for anything tasty that has a stronger lemonade vape, but so far this is it. Forshizzle! #VapeOn (GRADE: A+)

Charlie Noble (buy online)
- Neptune's Nectar - 30ml / 6mg, VG/PG mix is 75%/25%
BUY AGAIN. Very citrusy beginning to end, heavy vape clouds, full bodied flavor. "Strawberry + Banana + Fresh Cream" and I believe it. (GRADE: A)
- Admiral's Reserve: Pistachio RY4, 6mg: 23PG/76V, "Bright pistachio, layered with a delicious blend of vanilla, caramel and light tobacco." Google says that "RY 4 (RY4) is a sweet tobacco with undertones of caramel and vanilla." Good on an RDA at 80W and should be just as good in a tank. (GRADE: A+)
- Tripoli - 15ml / 6mg, "blend of aged Turkish tobaccos, fig, almonds, and rare spices," Mmmmm so tasty! Heavy on the almonds, more as time goes by w tobacco finish. Vape HARD when anywhere near 60W+ on a 0.3ohm coil in an Atlantis II tank. Higer wattages are possible, but you've got to be inhaling very hard the second you hit the fire button. To maximize flavor, close the top air flow opening! (GRADE: A+)
- Chocolate Mousse - 30ml / 6mg, heavy vape clouds, yogurt - yes, I believe it. Chocolate Mousse flavor is there but light. (GRADE: B-)
- Blue Bay - 30ml / 6mg, "Ripe blueberries, fresh pomegranate, a hint of vanilla and a twist of lemon," The ONLY way you are going to think this needs more blueberry is if you have vapers tongue. Too much for me to handle at times. (GRADE: B-)
- Admiral's Reserve: Good Cookie, "family's chocolate chip cookie recipe." Takes a while to warm up too, but does have a nice flavor. I would not call it a strong chocolate chip flavor, but it is appealing. BUY MORE! (GRADE: A )
- Sollers Pointe - 15ml / 6mg, "smooth and creamy with bursts of banana, vanilla, caramel, and a hint of tobacco" Very good flavor, but wish I could increase the flavor...a flavor shot is needed but I still love it. Does this come in a 60ml bottle? Yes, I'm ordering more! (GRADE: B+ )
- Siren Song - 15ml / 6mg, "complex cream and ripe strawberries" (GRADE: C- )
- Poseidon's Punch - 15ml / 6mg, "crisp and refreshing citrus punch" Very light vape. (GRADE: C+ )
- Fruit on the Bottom - 30ml / 6mg, "best fruits available. They've been picked at the peak of ripeness, and then complemented with a creamy, tangy, fresh yogurt" (GRADE: C )

lol - actually was responding to OP, Tommy - I am very familiar with Charlie Noble's juice (love several - have cloned Soller's Pointe fairly successfully and it is one of my ADV's) not so much Element (have heard decent things about them though)...

I have the same problem. I found a couple of cheap gas station tobacco flavors I could vape and then started DIY. Much cheaper and I mix what I like and can tolerate. I also mix much weaker than most commercial eauice is on the flavoring.
I suspect you have issues with artificial sweeteners and your wife does not?

Welcome Taz! Per previous posts, first of all what flavors would you like? There's a lot of variety out there. Are you looking for fruit, or bakery or drink flavors, or pipe/cigar natural extracts (which I personally find wonderful). Secondly, you mention your exposure to the flavors is finite. Please give us some more info as to why that is. DO you have throat hit problems? Are the flavors chemically (sorry, is that a word?! lol), or do you find them too peppery? If you can give some more info, then hopefully we can get you on the right road.

Actually i do have issues with artificial sweeteners which sucks as I was recently diagnosed diabetic. I can usually taste a bitterness or off taste to things with artificial sweeteners. I had not even considered that. Is there a way around this?

If possible, try another shop or two or three. Everybody's tastes are different. I tried a very popular brand that many people really like, but I didn't like any of it and totally avoid it (as another poster said, chemically tasting). I tried the only two shops within 40 miles of me, but drive right on past them now when I go to my favorite shop almost 100 miles away. Inconvenient? Yes. But I can get there every couple months as well as their willingness to mail me orders when needed. Then I expanded to online vendors and overtime have found one with several flavors I like. And lastly, JMHO, but never stop searching for something better. Sometimes a flavor that just doesn't even sound good turns out to be quite nice. A year ago, I never imagined I could stand a melon/grape juice, but gave it a shot and it turned out surprisingly good.

Welcome, keep up the search, and good luck.

ETA: Also wanted to mention that what you taste at the bar might end up quite different when adding nic and/or vaping it over a few hours, sometimes for the better and sometimes for worse. Buy your test bottles in small amounts until you know for sure.

I would just like about anything right now, i do love my cigars and pipe but rarely smoke those even with a full humidor. (Lol). The tastes tend to bitter, yes some taste chemically (lol), or just off. I think Robert Cromwell hit on it with my sensitivity to artificial sweeteners.

Nude Nicotine is just one of many places you can get it. If you would like to try theirs: Nicotine Sample Request - Nude Nicotine

If you choose a high mg/ml nicotine than you usually vape, then just get some VG or PG or PG/VG to cut it down.
