Hello everyone,

New here but only sort of new to the vape world. My background is as follows. I have been a PAD smoker for about 17 years on and off. I have quit three times. My first was only a month or two. My second was about 6 months using the gum. The third was cold turkey (briefly tried ecig's) and three years. Well I made a choice about three years ago to start smoking. Basically, I need nicotine as a mental health drug. I truly had quit and did not start smoking for the smoking. I started because it was the easiest way to get my Nicotine and missed smoking.

Well, I have followed ecig's on and off since 2009 and know more than most novices on the subject. Anyway, I finally bought my kit last week and I am currently transitioning. I went to mister-e-liquid in Michigan, and was very impressed (small plug for a local vape shop). I spent three hours there as I was not current on the latest and greatest. I tried around 15 liquids and liked three enough to get some as my starting point. Anyway I bought a Radix V1 (real DNA30 mod), EHPro kayfun lite clone, and a TOBH clone plus the needed wire and cotton to wick. They sat me down and went over a build and sent me on my merry way. I went home researched my purchase, and felt decent about my experience and choice of kit. So far so good, and I am happy with the equipment. The only other mod I have seen that may have tempted me more than the Radix is the ZNA30, but not at the price premium for a device with the same issues inherent with the DNA30.

Anyway, I am looking for some suggestions on RTA's. I like the Kayfun, the taste is good and it does not leak which is a necessity. I am looking at getting about another five RTA's so if I want different flavors I have options when I am out of the house (also trying to get my wife switched over). I would prefer to buy the same style, but would consider multiple types if warranted. Overall, I need consistency and ease of build. I have TOBH for experimenting with builds and will be utilizing it and may buy more RDA's. However, I want something at least as good as the Kayfun for coil build ease, taste, and no leaking. I would love something that is easier to refill. and had a good glass/pyrex tank. I am aware of the Squape Reloaded and the Taifun. Would either of these meet what I am looking for? Are there other options out, or coming up?

Lastly some info on my purchasing style on equipment. I don't mind buying quality out of the gate. I generally only buy new equipment when there is genuine innovation. I will probably pick up a mod for my wife (DNA30/Provari3). I may buy another mod or two in the future year or two. However, I would require reverse battery, true step down, probably higher wattage, excellent 510 connection, and quality of a DNA30/Provari device. From reading the updates it looks like in the next year or two all of these features will be met. I want American so SX350 is close but not quite right. My feelings on ecig's are that they are both a luxury and a necessity, so I am willing to splurge for my personal enjoyment. Thanks for reading.

Yes they did go over some basics before selling, but as far as safety I let them know my background, I worked in manufacturing for over a decade before switching careers. I was a machinist/ tool and die maker/CNC programmer and performed basic/moderate maintenance on machinery. In my new pursuit I have gone through the college physics sequence. I did not buy an ohm meter as I planned on using the DNA30 built in ohm check when rebuilding, and utilizing some basic calcs to ensure my build's ohm rating before making it.. I have not been able to verify the quality of the DNA30 ohm check but it would appear it rounds up to the nearest 0.1 ohm. I do not plan on taking the DNA30 below 0.5 ohm ever, and supposedly it will run down to 0.3 ohms. However, I would be willing to consider picking up a good multi-meter at some point if needed. I am interested in starting up electronics as a hobby.

Thanks for the tip I will check it out.

Congrats on the switch! As far as equipment goes I've been smooth sailing for the last few months ie I'm not up to date on the newest stuff. That being said I'd suggest having 2-3 of the kayfun type tanks for convenience when you're out and about. Then use rda/ drippers for when you want flavor changes. If you're staying at 1.0ohm or higher I think you'll be fine using your device to check the coils but if you want to go sub I'd suggest getting a digital multimeter. When getting that low a slight error from a reading could lead to a more unstable build. Hope that makes sense.

The fogger RTA is apparently quite nice. I still haven't tried one though but people seem to really dig it. Apparently you may have to drill her out a bit tho. Does come with Pyrex tank however!

Also check out the Orchid RTA. Looks really interesting.

Kayfuns can be modified with a quartz kit to have a Pyrex tank, by the way. This will prevent those pesky juices from cracking the tank.

A few really good rtas in my opinion are the orchid v2, the rose v2, the aqua, the taifun, the kayfun, the prometey (which is sort of a dripper type that holds 3 ml liquid) big buddah, and the ruzgar. Check out each of these and look at their specs I'm sure none of these will disapoint. Hope this helps.

Welcome to the world of justified Nicotine delivery! ;)

I too switched to vaping in order to quit smoking analogs while still getting my nicotine fix. No regrets. And even though I've developed an unhealthy habit of constantly shopping and buying new equipment and juices; I still manage to save $300 - $400/month compared to my daily trips to the convenience store for smokes. :)

+1 on the Orchid... I just got the Tobeco Orchid V2 (bottom fill hole, larger air flow and larger juice channels)
I'm loving this little tank! Not a huge capacity, but flavor and vapor are great! Highly recommend wicking it with rayon (cellucotton).
Let me know if you have any questions.
