Hello,
Is there a quality control issue with the ProVaris? I bought a ProVari and a ProVari Mini. The ProVari Mini will not draw, no matter what tank is on it. I already have an RMA in to get it fixed, however, I came home today to use the ProVari and I get nothing from it. I put the tank on an eGo-Twist and it works fine.

The ProVari reads 2.3 for Ao, button works, power to everything, I cleaned the brass connector, I pulled the battery spring out a little but it will not fire any atty (tried 3 of them with 2 different tanks) or any cartomizer (tried 2 different ones). Anyone had this issue?

Have you checked the Provari's battery voltage?

What batteries are you using? Button-top AW IMR's?

Does the fire button glow when you press it?

Is the on/off function turned to off? (3rd mode function). The Provari will meter ohms/voltage while in the off mode, yet not fire an atty.

Try pulling the battery spring some more.

Another thing might be the center pin in the connector may have been pushed too far in by one of your tanks. Compare the height of the center pins of your two Provari's. It's easy to nudge a pin up with a micro screwdriver or similarly small tool.

The only other thing I can think of off hand would be wipe the positive battery contact inside the Provari with some isopropal alcohol. I've read where any kind of dust/dirt/carbon can cause firing issues.

Is that something that can be checked from a mode? 4.3 sound right?

18650 Battery AW IMRs... tried both of them

Fire button does glow

It's set to on.

Try pulling the battery spring some more.
Grabbed it with tweezers and pulled it a bit more, still nothing

If the center pin isn't making contact I would not receive an amp reading on Ao mode, correct?

Did that, but this was literally put together yesterday (ordered brand new). Worked then stopped working overnight.

Which tank?
ProTank II. Tried two of them and a 510 cartridge. Won't fire either

This is where another value of the Provari comes in." Warranty" after trying all of the above send it back to Provape and have them figure it out and fix it, for free!

When you say it won't draw do you mean you have no air flow? If you screw a protank II all the way down, you won't get any. (at least with the 5 my wife and I own)

I believe that's a manufacturing defect. The same tank screwed all the way down on the ProVari regular will draw fine. Tried 3 different tanks on the ProVari mini and it's air tight. I believe the grooves at the top of the 510 adapter are not being milled properly.

Understandable, but $500 right before Christmas and to have both basically DOA scares me. However, I'm am glad they stand behind their product.

LOL. Thanks for the info. Phoenix being as sprawled out as it is, that's a good 45 miles from me. Probably worth the drive vs. the wait.

There may be a clue here - yes you can check the battery, keep clicking through the menu til you see "Cb" for "check battery" then wait. And if it's reading 4.3, that MAY be the problem. The problem being that your battery should never exceeed 4.2.
I would expect an error code - but it could be that the ProVari is protecting you by not firing with an overcharged battery.
You may have a battery/charger problem!

hold it!

your getting a reading of 4.3 on your battery?

either your charger isnt working correctly or the provari is really messed up.

you need to check these batteries with a meter to be sure that is not what the voltage really is. beyond screwing with the provari your looking at popping a battery in the charger if it is actually charging that high. beyond just ruining the batteries, they wont charge correctly giving you all kinds of errors.

you may have a problem with the charger that is causing the provari's to look faulty.

just my 2 pennies

Hup, you do realize that openly admitting there is a problem with your Provari's you may not be allowed to enter the secret society of the Provarinati. UNLESS you publicly assassinate several Chinese counterfeit knockoff APV's and mail their circuit boards to the head of the Provarinati (which is a secret but may be Pbusardo) which may or may not provide you with redemption for this heinous accusation that your provari's were not perfect.

Sorry for the jokes everyone (I can sense dozens of provari owners running to their Aston Martins to come silence me) but I just can't help it since I had a provari owner look at my Vamo, sneer, roll his eyes and treat me like common riff raff.

Wait,

I am common riff raff

nevermind
