Hello,
Is there a quality control issue with the ProVaris? I bought a ProVari and a ProVari Mini. The ProVari Mini will not draw, no matter what tank is on it. I already have an RMA in to get it fixed, however, I came home today to use the ProVari and I get nothing from it. I put the tank on an eGo-Twist and it works fine.

The ProVari reads 2.3 for Ao, button works, power to everything, I cleaned the brass connector, I pulled the battery spring out a little but it will not fire any atty (tried 3 of them with 2 different tanks) or any cartomizer (tried 2 different ones). Anyone had this issue?

See this is a classic example of why i am still in 2 minds about getting a provari...or 2. Being in England can you imagine how annoying it would be for me if my provari malfunctioned ?. How much would it cost, to have the vendor i got it from, to ship it back to good ol usa to have it repaired ?. And then ship it all the way back again......What's that 7000 mile round trip to repair a £200 vapouriser. I don't know how much it cost's for any particular repair or how much to ship it. But i am certain it would definitely not be worth it, would it ?.

So.....Would any of you nice american folks recommend, to anyone living anywhere other than the usa, they buy a provari because it's the only vapouriser on the market that comes with a warranty ?.

Any americans here that are looking to buy a provari i'd suggest you do it. Best vapouriser available in the states.

on your side ofthe pond get a semovar, covered for one year through Cloud9 :D

(and actually it is usually only the cheap chinese models that dont come with any warranty many top end mod makers in fact do cover their products - even more reason to just buy quality and be done with it)

There may be a clue here - yes you can check the battery, keep clicking through the menu til you see "Cb" for "check battery" then wait. And if it's reading 4.3, that MAY be the problem. The problem being that your battery should never exceeed 4.2.
I would expect an error code - but it could be that the ProVari is protecting you by not firing with an overcharged battery.
You may have a battery/charger problem!

hold it!

your getting a reading of 4.3 on your battery?

either your charger isnt working correctly or the provari is really messed up.

you need to check these batteries with a meter to be sure that is not what the voltage really is. beyond screwing with the provari your looking at popping a battery in the charger if it is actually charging that high. beyond just ruining the batteries, they wont charge correctly giving you all kinds of errors.

you may have a problem with the charger that is causing the provari's to look faulty.

just my 2 pennies

This and this. The Provari monitors your battery and 4.3 is just wrong, which is probably why it's not firing. You need a good multimeter stat.

It won't read battery level and or the menu system won't function if the battery isn't making contact internally.
It won't read the ohms if the topper isn't making connection.

Looks & sounds like the delivery device is tightened down too much cutting off air flow.
You must leave a slight gap between the delivery device and the provari for airflow.
About the thickness of a playing card.

The same tank, tightened down completely on the ProVari draws fine. At the top of the connector on the Mini, it looks like a crown. On the Mini it doesn't appear they are cut deep enough. To me it seems like it's a defect if every other mod I use the tank on can be tightened down all the way (eGo-CTwist, ProVari, and iTaste).

When you press the button, do you hear any hissing or anything from the atomizer?

I ask because when I first got my protank, I did tighten it down too much and wasn't able to draw from it.

I hear nothing from the atomizer or the 3 others that I tried. That's on the ProVari.

The no draw issue is only on my ProVari Mini. Same tank, same tightness on the mini, no draw. It actually has to be unscrewed about a turn and a half to get any draw at all.

wow that's pretty crazy. The only other suggestion I would have is to open up the protank and make sure the head is screwed in tight (but it also happens on your non-protanks too, so that's probably not the issue). Other than that, I would call ProVape and get the RMA process started...maybe they will give you some things to try over the phone. Good luck either way, and don't be disheartened. ProVaris are really good units and when you get this sorted, you will be very happy with yours.

I agree with Thrasher. I got a Semovar. The Semovar is cheaper than the Provari if you are in the UK. Same 1year warranty as the Provari. Provape charge nearly $50 postage to ship to the UK when selling you a tube only so for an out of warranty repair you are looking at $70 in shipping fees before repair. Obviously folks in the US can both buy and get them repaired cheaper. Cloud 9 is the UK SvoeMesto dealer.

Lets sort out one PV at a time! Switching back & forth between two different PV's with different problems has people going every which way with their answers.

Draw problem with the mini; does the mini work properly other than the draw problem?
Simple solution for draw problem

Yes, the Mini works fine other than the draw problem. I just got an RMA on it because I still don't believe I should have to modify a tank or the mod to get it to work when I works fine on the ProVari (when it works).

So we could probably consider the Mini case closed, I'll let you know what they find with the RMA process. I still think it's the milling on top of the 510 (doesn't look cut as deep as the ProVari)

I just fired off another RMA request on the ProVari. Seems it just doesn't want to light the atty :(
