new guy with new guy questions

So after a few lifestyle changes and an early birthday gift, I have now switched to electronic cigarettes..

I have had exactly one and a half cigarettes in two days, down from a two pack a day habit. While searching for information relating to brands and types, I stumbled upon this forum. I have read through a little bit, but can't seem to find the answers to a few questions, so I figured I'd register and ask.

question 1:
I'm not really sure about the proper terminology, and I have noticed that there is a lot of variation between styles, but I have a "Tripl3" brand "ego" e-cig. I was looking around at nicotine levels and flavors, when I noticed that there are e-cig models designed to simulate the look of a pipe. I like the idea, but would like one that is designed like the model I have now (refillable, clear cylinder) and preferably one without the "auto cutoff" feature that mine has, since I like to push the button a second or so before I inhale to develop a little stronger "hit".

question 2:
As I noted above, I like to hold the button down for a moment before inhaling in order to let the vapor build up a little before inhaling. Will this practice damage my e-cig?

question 3: I noticed that certain models make larger capacity tanks. Are tanks on these things universal, and if not is there a way to figure out if a larger capacity tank will fit my unit?

Thanks in advance for the help.

First, CONGRATULATIONS.
I'll let someone with a Pipe mod talk about pipes - but here's a couple short notes

1) Most devices have a cutoff - some are longer...
2) a second on the button before drawing should be fine - if you go TOO long, you'll know it - you'll get a nasty burnt taste which might require replacing part of your device to get rid of (you can TRY cleaning it, but burnt is hard to get rid of). But really, a second is fine!
3) You got a "standard" EGO battery, which means you have both 510 threads (the little inside threads) and larger EGO threads (outside). This lets you use a hundred different tank brands and types. Personally, I recommend the Kanger EVOD or ProTank (mini or full sized) to go on an Ego battery. The ProTank is simple to use, and larger - it'll be a little topheavy, but works well. To go with a pipe, that's a whole different story...

Thanks for the quick reply, and especially thank for the congratulations! considering the fact that I was diehard set against smoking, putting out that last cigarette halfway down because of the surprisingly nasty taste was sort of a strange sensation...

I never noticed the inside threads on my battery, now I feel a little dumb. From the selection of tanks available, is there any difference in the amount of vapor they put out? I switched from "little cigar" type cigarettes, so I'm pretty used to a pretty stout smoke. The liquid I got is labelled as "very high nicotine", so I'm hoping to find something that can get something producing a higher density of vapor to get me a little closer to that old strong familiar "hit" from one of my old smokes...

Hi and welcome. Congrats on switching:toast: I'm not sure what a Tripl3 brand ego is,but beware of the many knock offs. I quit a 35yr 2.5,PAD,so let me tell you this works. It has been 2.5 years since I had a Cig. As for the pipe, not sure. I have seen one,at my BM,but it was too rich for me. Your PG/VG is what produces your Vapor and taste. Some have sensitivities to PG,so they opt for 100 % VG. I use a 50/50 mix and have great vapor and taste. I started with the Blu,then the Ego1100 and now use the Vamo. I use a Tank-Carto system and this works great for me. You will probably find yourself switching around products and juices. The way I see it I spent 250.00 a month on Cigs. I now spend 45-56,on vape supplies. This does work. I'm 51 and never thought I would get off Cigs. Good luck to you.

First off..... Congrads on quitting.
From google search, It looks like a regular EGO battery with CE5 cartomizer (disposable).
And you are looking for more vapor with better hit!

In my opinion, You should be getting pretty good hit with this but you can try top coil cleomizer such as CE4s, CE4+ etc. These have replaceable heating coils which will cut down on replacement cost. Top coil cleomizers give you warmer vap and it will translate to better hit.

But saying that you do know the different between vaping and smoking ? Right. Most vap are absorbed thru mouth and nasal passages. Not from inhaling?

Good luck with finding what you need and keeps on vaping.

Cheers.

not really sure about all the other terminology, but the tank part isn't disposable, it's refillable...

just out of curiosity, I've seen the CE4 and CE5 terms before, but could never find out what they mean... What is the difference between them?

That will get you through 2-4 weeks but during that time you should be looking to improve your tank system so you are not left high and dry

actually, the place that I bought mine told me that if anything quit working that I could just bring it back and they would replace it... I had no idea that these things went out like that..

I don't think they will since the tank is consumable. If they do, than paint me surprised.

I would suggest that you look into rebuildable cleromizers.
It could be CE4 (but are not) you can get ce4+, CE4s, CE6 etc...... these will be top coil style and they will vap warmer.

My Fav is bottom coil atomizer such as Kanger Evod. They're easy to fill, reliable and very easy to replace the heads and rebuild them if/when you are ready. Such similer devices but different looks are as follows : MT4, EVOD, T32, T3, T3s, T4, X6S , REM, V2 , KWX6 , X9 Protank, Protank 2, Protankmini, KWX5, PURITANK etc.

And when I said disposable in earlier post, I meant it is not rebuildable.

Now if any of the above do not make sense, don't fret. Search EVOD on you tube for reviews, how to's etc... And they are easy to use and replace the heating coil. Cheap to replace them too at about a buck a piece. You can try EVOD for about 3 bucks before investing in a protank, protank2 or protank mini's which are more expensive. But way it is built and functions the same.

Here is a link where you can look thru some clearos. copy and paste into your browser address bar.

Well, that's jst what my wife told me they said when she bought them. She may have misunderstood them.

sorry, I misunderstood... I'm still new here, so it'll take me a minute...

As for the others, I'll definitely look through those, especially since my wife is wanting to try a few different flavors. Im wanting to get a few more anyhow, so that I can keep a charged one on standby for when my battery runs out...

ANt thanks again for all the help.

Evods are great. And if you're not ready to spend a bit more and venture onto the "mod" world, I would say AT LEAST try a twist/spinner type ecig - you and your wife will love the control it gives you. It's kinda like eating fast food all your life, then trying a $15 burger from a classier Restaraunt - you never knew what you were missing, but now you'll never want to go back to fast food. Either way, good luck!
