well, just as an update, as it turns out, it was the tank all along... my wife went by a different smoke shop today and bought a three pack of them from a different manufacturer, and the difference is like night and day. these are virtually the same thing, and yet they hit much harder... now I suppose I'll have to stock up on these until I can upgrade.

Welcome to ECF! Congrats on switching. Where are you in Tennessee? I ask, because there are some great groups in this state. I just attended our local vapers' meet "Smoky Mountain Vapers", yesterday, with another 250+ people. We have vendors, raffles, door prizes and alot of good times with like-minded people who share a common interest.

You are in the newbie-tax phase. You can and will save money... eventually. Getting started can be a bit more strenouos on the budget tho. There is a plethora of battery configurations (mechanical/regulated/variable voltage/variable wattage). There are a ton of "heads" (atomizers/cartomizers/clearomizers[what you have]/tanks/genisis-style rebuildable tanks/rebuildable dripping atomizers).

Basically, there is an unlimited amount of devices to get you where you are completely satisfied.

Each device will perform differently with the same juice. Some will heat the coil at a higher temperature. Some will produce flavor better.

Taste is subjective. This will become a known rule as you graduate to your "happy place" in vaping.

Please stick around and do your homework. Please be cautious about buying the newest, bestest thing ever that's released or only available by pre-order. Trust me, there will be another next week. This industry and lifestyle is evolving at mind-numbing speeds. There's a new idea or apparatus regularly. Go with something tried-and-true until reviews are in for that thing that catches your eye.

Dougie, I'm about 2 counties over from you. Yes, I will definitely hang around and keep researching to find my "happy place" with these devices, as I have went from a two pack a day habit, to about one every two days or so... and even when I have one, i now despise it (the taste that I used to love now just about sickens me). My only problem is that it seems like I can't get a consistent draw from these. every few hours or so, and other times every few days, I'll get the vapor consistency, density, and the hit that I love. At those times a cigarette is the farthest thing from my mind. other times, it seems much milder. almost like their is no hit at all.... it's a little aggravating because it seems like it's got a mind of it's own... I have tried a couple of different heads now, both clearomizers, and both are the same way. I am assuming that it's because the battery loses the ability to give me taht kick, so I'm gonna try buying a different battery
