This is my first post here. My names Ty, I live in Las Vegas, NV. I'm 21...unfortunately been smoking since I was 17. Not long, but long enough for me to realize it's time to quit. I normally smoke atleast a pack a day of Camel Wides.

Anyway, I went down to a local smoke shop here and ended up picking up a Smoke51 Trio kit. So far, I really enjoy it but I'm not sure I understand everything completely. I notice that I don't get a consistent amount of vapor from my Trio. Sometimes I will have pretty decent size hits and other times, it's just a real light amount of vapor, almost nothing. Is this just my newbness coming through or could it potentially be a problem with the system?

Also, I've tried doing some research on this thing...but there seems to be so much and so many different types that I'm getting lost. I've been reading into this e-liquid stuff and I'd really like to get into that. Is that possible with the Smoke51? Is there certain types of liquid I should buy?

Basically, I'm just trying to find some info on this thing. Get some on insight on where to go with it. I've been trying hard the last few days to get off regular cigarettes. I'm currently only smoking about 5-8 cigarettes a day after just a week of using the Smoke51.

Well, I appreciate your guys input.

Ok... Let's see what I can do to help... Sorry in advance if this seems long winded, but take the time to read, it should help you out.

I've never tried the smoke51 specifically but I have noticed that there can be some inconsistency with the vapor production in most models, and there's a learning curve to the technique, it's not like puffing on a cigarette. The best way I can describe what I do would be to "hotbox" a normal cig... Puff once (primer puff) then slowly and easily take a long draw into your mouth (5 sec at least). The primer puff will activate the battery, and the long slow draw should allow you to produce max vapor from your drag...
Also, I've tried doing some research on this thing...but there seems to be so much and so many different types that I'm getting lost.
Give yourself time, an ecig shouldn't be an impulse purchase and that's what that type of company (Smoke 51) tries to get you to do and preys on people in that manner. Now, you already have it, so the best you can do to try to make the most of your purchase is this... Research your model. Take your time with it, find out how to maximize your experience. Once you know what you're experiencing, it'll be easier to maximize that experience, because you'll know what you're not getting that you need. Be patient, you may go thru several liquids or even ecig models before you find your ideal "vape". It's just like picking out that perfect brand of cigarettes. FWIW my research seems to suggest that the smoke51 trio is either an RN4081 OR a DSE103... Not 100% sure since they're mostly interchangeable, but since that's the case your research on one should carry over to the other.

I've been reading into this e-liquid stuff and I'd really like to get into that. Is that possible with the Smoke51? Is there certain types of liquid I should buy?
Yes, and yes! The first one is a very simple answer; It's possible with all ecigs, and VERY practical and economical. As for the second part, that's very subjective. You need to find a flavor, and brand or variety that suits you. I usually buy liquid from either http://www.heaven-gifts.com or http://www.revolvercig.com. Both good sites, and both great service. Heaven gifts has slower, and higher cost shipping, but they sell different flavors that revolver does not, and they also have a better variety of sizes. If you decide you like a flavor that heaven gifts has, and revolver carries it, get it there, it's the same manufacturer (Dekang) as far as I can tell (YNDK imprinted on the bottle lid). I've ordered from any number of sites, and so far haven't had a bad experience. Mostly it's the people here that have helped me.

Basically, I'm just trying to find some info on this thing. Get some on insight on where to go with it.
You've started out on the right foot. You've got an open mind, and you're willing to ask questions. Spend some time looking around, and you'll be much more confident before you know it. Maybe confident enough to DIY liquid or even build your own mod. Good luck, and welcome to the wonderful world of vaping... :D

Read this link.... Helped me out quite a bit as well...

Thank you very much. That's exactly what kind of post/help I was looking for. Basically, since I didn't get responses very quickly...I just started doing research before I received any reply's here. Not talking down on the site at all though, I found a lot of info here. :D

After using the Smoke51 for a few days, I can say it's not actually as bad as most sites have made it out to be. I will admit that it took me a few days to figure out "how to vape" haha. I seem to get decent draws and they are much more consistent, now that I know how it works. I also seem to be getting very good battery life which I've read was a big problem with the Smoke51. However, I did read that after a few weeks, they have a tendency to start screwing up...so I guess I'll see what happens.

As far as the e-juice goes. I couldn't really find too much about re-filling the Smoke51 so I decided to take a change and just do it. I went ahead and ordered a few 5ml bottles from ModernVapor. They just arrived today and I gave it a shot. Let me tell you, this has made my e-cig experience amazing. The taste, the smell, the vapor...everything is great now.

I do plan on ordering a kit from ModerVapor. I really like the Sidesho, especially with the different color options, etc. Plus, it's cheaper than what I paid for this Smoke 51...like you said, they market for impluse buyers and that's exactly what I did.

Again, thank you magus and lawnman for your reply's. I'm definately open minded, always enjoy learning and reading stuff online so I'm glad I found this site. I frequent other forums, even run my own site for paintball players here in Las Vegas.

Oh, and ModernVapor...I notice he's a registered user here. Thank you too. Awesome online buying experience and excellent product.:thumb:

If the S51 Trio is still using the RN4081 super mini, one thing that improved my opinion of that model is covering one of the air holes during inhalation. Increases vapor and throat hit, warms it up a bit. That atty is a pretty rugged little design, and though it's overpriced from S51, it's a solid starter (once you figure it out, as you seem to have done). Good luck.

Ah, someone familiar with it. That is exactly how I get the hits I was describing. I cover the hole and draw, as I'm still drawing I let off the hole and it gives great hits.

However, I've been reading all night and I really would like to try out another brand. I think I've decided to go with something from ModernVapor. :thumb:

i purchased the trio about a week ago too, i'm not too impressed, but im thankful it got me into this wonderful world of vaping. i ordered liquids a few days ago(should be here soon, we're both in PA) and im interested to try it with the dif liquids. Did you get any carts with your trio that didn't produce any vapor at all?? i bought several packs of carts and in each pack atleast one out of 6 seems to be a dud.

I started with "The Fifty One" duo. I loved the flavors, hated the battery life and the outrageous price that the local tobacco store charged. ($62 for a carto starter kit with 2 batterys, two cartos and a charger, $17 for 5 cartos.)
I love my 510, but if I was starting over I'd start with a 901. (I have adapters for my 510 to use 801 and 901/808 gear on my bats and pass.) My next PV will be a M401 mod since my 510 atty has the same threads as the 401 batt.

Dawn at DIY Flavor Shack is in LasVegas, you might check her out for kits/parts/juice. Since she is so close it should be lightning fast shipping.

I don't know if the S51 trio is an RN4081, it's just what they were selling when I bought from there so long ago. They may have switched to something else. When I bought there, I got some 4081 attys from china that worked just fine.

Thanx, I ordered an atty that the supplier listed as dse4081 but swore it was the same as rn4081 it looks identical but the thread end is just slightly too fat. Guess I'll try another supplier. I'd like to keep supplies on hand to use it for a backup.
