Hi Rick and welcome! It's great to hear you found something to move away from those Marlboros. I used to smoke a pack and a half the Marlboro Lights. I had tried everything else and none of it stuck, but I got lucky and stumbled into vaping.

I think you'll find a lot of helpful information and a great deal of support around here. This forum really helped me get to where I am now, over 4 years smoke free. I imagine you feel the same way I did at the beginning, sounds good but it won't work for me. There are no guarantees, but it's worked for a whole lot of us here, so settle in and get as much help and support as you need.

Welcome to the forum @Riley2 :). I remember hearing about the first electronic cigarette and thinking what a joke! Now, here I am cig free for 5 years. ECF was the first vaping forum I joined and received a lot of great help. Fair warning....this forum is huge with a LOT of members. If you get confusing or conflicting information don't hesitate to call upon one of the veterans or admin for help. We want you to be happy and satisfied with your results so you can stay off those stinkies:thumb:

Hello and welcome to ECF, Rick. My first try at vaping didn't work out so well. When I finally got serious I found a shop with a very helpful sales clerk. He set me up with a better atomizer and the proper mg/ml of juice. It was what I needed to finally put the cigarettes down for the final time. Between that and this forum, I have continued to remain cigarette free for these last 4+ years.

Welcome!! I read sooooo much when I first started vaping! Articles, blogs, posts on forums. I did the same with watching videos. My number 1 concern was learning battery safety. Mooch is our battery guru and you can find out which batteries are safest for your style of vaping on his blog.

He’s also on YouTube where he explains everything that even my 5th grade mind can understand lol!!

You can just google Battery Mooch and find it. His blog is on this forum but I still haven’t figured out how to post a link of something in this forum lol!!

Glad to have ya and enjoy!!

Thanks for the kind welcome. The great thing is I actually prefer vaping to smoking. I started out with an Evod pen and it took a couple weeks to find out that wasn't going to work long term. Fortunately I have a well respected vape shop right next door to where I work and they got me set up with a Lost Vape Orion Q pod. I like this enough I bought a second one for backup. So far no desire to go back to the stinkies, in fact I stood next to a coworker smoking my old brand and did not care for the smell at all.

Rick
