...from too much information. I didn't know e-cigs existed until 2 days ago when I heard an ad on the radio, I've probably got 15 hours of reading on the subject done since then, and my head is swimming. 501, TH, PT, KR808, V4L, 901, vg/pg ratios... I'm about to overload my brain.

Hello, my name is Jay, and I'm an analog-aholic.:(

Your best advice would be greatly appreciated.

I want to quit/greatly reduce the amount of cigs I smoke (2+ pad of American Spirit yellow box). Cost doesn't matter, if you know of the best e-cig out there that costs $alot I want to know about it. For now I don't care about size of the unit or battery life, I spend enough time driving from job to job or doing work at my computer. I'm looking for the closest experience in terms of throat hit, vapor, and taste to wein myself off of analogs. Ideally I would like something I could spend a of couple of minutes on in the morning, and just vape as needed all day.

I'm leaning toward the WetBox to start with. What do you guys say?

Hi Jay!

Welcome to the insanity.

I can't comment on the Wetbox but I highly recommend the Ego. The battery will last all day which I know you said you don't care about battery life but trust me you will. Especially when you are out and about for a few hours. It produces great throat hit (TH) and vapor.

As taste goes - there are a million different juices out there but you will not find one that tastes like a cig (analog) although there are some great tobacco flavors. It is usually recommended that you get an assortment of small bottles with diffrent flavors and nicotine strengths until you find what you like and what works for you.

Ego. Nuff said.

+1 and add my vote!

Welcome to the Vapor Train arriving at ECF Station right now!

The eGo is one of the best e-cigs out there. If you're willing to get past the fact that it doesn't look or feel anything like a cigarette, then that will be your best bet. The good news is that it isn't going to cost you a fortune. Switching to vaping will actually cost you far less than you're spending on analogs (cigarettes.)

Wet box is good. I use a Nicostick juice box when I'm on the go. I fill the bottle with liquid, make sure it's got a fully charged battery, and I'm good for the day.
For the throat hit, I suggest a HV mod or a 3.7 volt with a LR atty.

Actually I carry three with me. They seem to work better if they have a break now and then.

I started with a LUX from modern vapor, not too different from the ego. If cost is not an issue, you really need to ask yourself what you want. There are, as you have seen, many different types and you need to make a list of what is important to you. Do you want one that will last all day? One that has a juice feed system? Size? I know you said all that didn't matter, but the details like that are really what sets the different PV's apart.

I used a 5.2V box mod for the first time today and I doubt I could go back, except for some juices that just taste better on a lesser V'age. The box mod provides a ton more vapor and a warmer hit. I love my LUX, but can only see myself using it now on a few of my juices! Waffle tastes incredible on the 5V!

And, really, one will probably not satisfy you for long, no matter what you buy if you're one of the hobbyist types, LOL.

All I can say is welcome to the smokeless side of smoking!!! I, too, am new to this whole thing and trust me, I know exactly what you mean by the number of reading and research hours. Oh, man, is it enough to make a person's head explode.

Go slow, ask yourself what you really want, be sure to get a couple of different ecig sets (if you can afford it) so that you are not wearing one out shortly after you get it, and don't be afraid to ask questions.

Wow, so many responses so fast. And all of them helpful. Reminds me of when I was a waiter when I was 18-19 years old. I was always glad to get the smoking section, they were (almost) always the nicest people and the best tippers.

You guys are making it easier to decide, one of the things I don't want is to waste a lot of time/space on inferior products.

I have had the opportunity to try many models for free. (friends have a few) Out of the ones they have, i liked the eGo the best. I didnt read others posts, but youll probably see a lot of recommendations for the eGo out there. Its just a solid unit. Good vapor, flavor, throat hit, easily portable, classy looking, not too heavy, not too light, definately does not look like an analog, and you wont be worried about your battery.

I think youll find that experimenting will yeild you a model that you may like even better than the ego. But, i would/have definately recommend the eGo to other people looking to get a good idea of what vaping is all about. All around, its just good. I have tried some othe rmodels that do better in certan aspects, but fall short in others. Try an eGo, then see what portions of the experience you like best.

With that first hand experience, you can not only decide if this is for you, but you can also describe what you like best about it. With that info, people can help direct you to other models that might suit your interests.

All that being said, i love my three eGo's.

LOL! We've all been there with the info overload. Started with my Ego starter kit and haven't been sorry one bit. Ego batteries last longer than some of the others, but you'll want to have extra on hand depending on how heavy you use them. I was a heavy smoker, and didn't want to have to keep messing with it all day. It's a good thing I got it... heavy smoker/heavy vaper. Important thing now is to get started with something good & reliable. No matter what ecig you start with you may find something you like better down the road. Of course your next hurdle will be picking juices. Get 2-3 different nicotine mg levels to help you find the right level you'll need/want. Then get a few different flavors. Don't expect them to taste the exact same as an analog. It won't happen. You'll be surprised at how much you'll enjoy vaping flavors you never dreamed you'd like, but you will. I swap out flavors all day, but rarely changed analog brands.

Welcome to ECF! Good luck & keep us updated. : )

Hey what's up welcome, I'm also new and I posted a similar thread and got a lot of guidance .........healthcabin.com .......offers 2 complete e cigarettes get the EGO MEGA 900mAh kit ......their shipping is weird in that you have to maximize your order so get a couple 510 low resistance attys/atomizers and don't smoke the juice that comes in the kit. Trust me! I use ***510 cartos/cartomizers***start with regular ones or look for 510 boge mega cartos litecigusa.com has those (I'm looking to get these 510 boges (*genuine joye) silver threads. Ive heard good things about them .......after having a bad experience with 510 ce2 r4's ceramic cartos~Fyi

I just started In mid Sept. Haven't touched an **ultra light American spirit cigarette( I smoked 2 packs a day also, lol) since it arrived .......it takes 5-7 days using healthcabin.com (not Asian or affiliated with ANYONE.... btw) so that gives you some time to get ....JUICE....now this is where preference comes in......TH go with PG 18-24ml nicotine OR higher and go down *I've tried 4 vendors for e liquid.....and I narrowed it down to liquidxpress.com! I (me) like their flue cured tobacco and their taboo .......WHATS COOL IS YOU CAN GET A SAMPLER PACK .....DONT expect the exact THROAT HIT or taste of a BURNING analog....... I PERSONALLY never liked the taste of cigarettes anyway I'm addicted to the nic and *TH! Im still looking for a good tobacco ....flavor..........

another AWESOME E-liquid vendor is vaperite.com, Todd (owner) VG organics are awesome for dripping *KONA CREAM, BANANAS FOSTER, caramel cream -ARE SPOT ON. His *House extracted tobacco is good. Claims he uses additive (American spirit) free ingredients......

* BUT ALL IN ALL THE EGO (MEGA) IS A PERFECT STARTER E~CIG ! ! ~Imoo~

Good luck........... Oh and Clouds of Vapor~ Bruce is a great businessman quick delivery, and stands behind is product(s)
