This may be a little off topic and i am still a noob and dont know much about the dna 20 but i watched a video that didnt give that much info so excuse the question but what does the dna 20 offer that gives it the WOW factor? From what i know ( and as i said, i dont know much ) is the only thing it offers is the fact that it can do 20 watts? Is it just a Kick that offers 20 watts? and has a screen? or is there much more to it?

I held one of these hand modz and was vaping off it when i went into cigtech.. It was nice ( edges were a little sharp for my liking ) but it was very nice and since i didnt know NADDA about the DNA 20 or the hana for that matter, 250.00 seemed like a big price tag ( once again, i am still a noob when it comes to higher end mods and what not ) and all they kept talking on and on about was, IT HAS A DNA 20! It can do 20 watts!

With that said, What else does the DNA 20 offer then that?

BTW ... You guys WITH Hana's ;-) ... Do they all have those "manufacturing marks" on them? (Like scratches)

Mine has slightly visible brush marks, like maybe made while polishing/finishing, they're not scratches, you can't feel them, and really can only see them when held at an angle to the light. Similar markings around the 510 connector area, in the well. Doesn't bug me a bit. No gouges like in the pic of the one in the classies. Mine does have a few light scratches now just from my own use, but I don't baby it. Still looking forward to getting a pretty jwrap for it, I've been checking their site a lot since I saw it mentioned here. Any word on when yours is going to ship, 2423?

You can read all about the DNA at Evolv Lots of info! I already have a DNA12 mod, waiting on Hana. ;-) Vaping at 20W is NOT something I want to experience (though I guess there's those that want that  ... Can't imagine WHY?) ... For ME it's more about the "vape" you get from a DNA driven device! Can't explain it but it's much more "smooth" and consistent. Does that make sense? It's a matter of preference ... Sorta like the difference between cars ... Like driving my little budget-friendly Chevrolet Equinox ... And then driving an ultra expensive one ... The "ride" is different!! ;-)

Honestly if you are just looking for smooth up to 14 watts the provari is a better option. Both systems use a high frequency PWM which is where the "smooth" comes from. The issue you may have with the d20 is at under 7 watts it comes out of regulation, meaning there is no modulation and results in battery voltage going direct to your atomizer with no control much like a mechanical mod. That said; I am sure once you get a chance to use the d20 and a low impedance rebuildable you will find while 20w may be a bit much 14w-18w is awesome however if you use cartos only much above 15w will destroy them quickly.

I'm WAY from being a techie guru Chowder (LOL!!) ... I tend to just vape what I like! I understand what you're saying (I think! ;-)) ... But I thought that the DNA used something other than PWM ... But ???? (WHERE's my buddy retird when I need him?!!! Haha!). And yes ... I'd wondered whether I really "needed" a mod with a DNA20 because I hoover right around 7 - 8.0W. The DNA12 is perfectly fine for my vaping needs. I'm SURE the Provari is a wonderful device ... FORM Factor is also a matter of preference ... I just like the "box" form over the "tube". BUT ... I will be looking for a tube type mod to put my new Sigelei Kick clone in. Isn't it wonderful that we now have so many great choices!!! ;-)

LOL! I copy. Have you looked into the Nivel chip? Seems it would be just what you are after. Here's some reading for you:
http://nivelchip.com/

As far as I am aware every vv/vw mod uses PWM the differences for the most part have to with the frequency and the overall quality of components.

I have had great luck with the Evolv products, I have several Kicks, used mainly in my BAMs, a Mantis from Ed the Green with a DNA 12 and the Hana with the DNA 20. All perform very well, very consistent. I also have a Nivel chip sitting on the shelf but haven't decided what it is going in yet.

My Hana did have some machine marks but they polished out easily. Polished aluminum collects scratches while sitting still...just the nature of the beast. My Billet Box is the same way as is my polished Don.

Thank You! Thats the exact answer i was hoping for! So it does offer a better/different vape experience other then just being able to pump out 20 watts ( which i will never use )

I will be sure to check them out again when and if they are back in stock.

As for Chowderhead.... I was actually HOPING it cooked breakfast and mowed the lawn!! I would even have paid extra for the "make coffee mod" to... but i am guessing these features wont be available until rev. 2?

BaaaHahaha!!!! ^^^^^^^^^ :D I'm in for Rev. 2 if it will power up and run the vacuum!! Already have the coffee made and ready when I get up! ;-) (But if Hana Rev 2 would do THAT too ... MUCH more worry-free in so many ways! LOL!)

I'm right there with you 2345678. The Evolv products certainly are great for smooth and consistent.

Evolv says: "The DNA 20D is a power regulated digital switch-mode DC-DC converter for personal vaporizers." I have no idea what power regulated digital switch-mode DC-DC converter means except that it is truly a different vape than I've had with any other device or chip...and it's not just the wattage levels. Something about this "digital switch-mode DC-DC converter" is new to the vaping world. I've even changed my vaping style when using it. Amazing.

Actually this is rev2. Rev1 is powered with a 1200mah on board lipo, rev2 is removable 18650 powered. For the record rev1 still has not come out....... (Shakes head)

The only difference (other than the battery) is the V2 is slightly over a 1/3 inch taller.
