Hi everyone,

I'm mew to vaping and hove found lots of good answers lurking here. This is such a great community. I'm about a half a pack to 3/4 pack a day smoker. I quit for 9 months about 3 years ago but I put on weight and as dancer that's not good so I started smoking again. Before I quit I could smoke a pack and a half a day easy, so I'm no where near where I was. I've used vaping to travel and it's never worked for me until I realized that I didn't like the menthol ejuice and started on fruit flavors. That seems to do the trick.

My issue is that vaping is causing heavy congestion and hurts my throat. I wheeze and cough something I never did with regular cigs. If I don't Vape for a day and just smoke it clears up. When I Vape I smoke maybe 1-2 cigs a day and I can say that I do not chain Vape at all. Just 5-10 minutes ata time as you would a real cig.

i actually like vaping better because the flavors are nicer but this side effect is really hard on my body.

I'm using a puff e cig with refillable atomizer and 60/40 pg/vg with 12g nic. Any suggestions? It literally hurts to inhale and I have been inhaling in the mouth then into the lungs so I know I'm doing it right. Thanks for any advice!

I've been finding out that the more I smoke when I vape the more I cough and feel congested. If I just Vape for a day or two I cough a little but it's very a productive cough then I seem to feel like my lungs are clearer. I for the most part use 100% vg juice I've got a couple that are vg/pg mix they seem to make me cough more. What type of battery are you using? Mine is variable and when I do cough I just lower it to a lower voltage and get a lighter hit.

Something else to think about if you are switching from cigs to ecigs. I read and talked to people that said since you are giving your lungs time to heal they will hack up some of the garbage that is in them. So if you just started (within a few weeks) it could be that as well. I'm really new to this so just tossing my two cents in.

This is totally true. I went through this both times I switched from cigs to egigs.

I also agree with the PG VG ratio adjustments. If my juice has too much PV the epiglottis thingy in the back of my throat gets weird and longer and is constantly tickling my throat and makes me cough or clear my throat.

Good luck and don't give up!

Rip Trippers (I think) did a bit about the side effects of vaping.

His assertion was that you need to do some experimentation if you're having allergy type issues. There are four major componenents of e-juice: PG, VG, nicotine and flavor.

You might want to try an unflavored 50/50 mix just to see if the flavors might be an issue.

Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!!! Be sure to drink plenty WHILE you are vaping. Cigarettes have additives in them to curb the cough so you'll smoke more. Did you ever notice when you were a smoker that when it was time for a smoke you would get a bit of a cough and after you had that smoke you would stop coughing?? Insideous, yes?? Your body is urging you to light up by giving you different symptoms to fight. Your mind says "If I just have that smoke, things will be better!!" Don't give in to it!! Just vape thru it...and hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!!

I just got another round of juices with lower pg and yay! I found max vg is great for me, still a bit of throat and lots of smoke! I just ordered the eroll. I'm just not a vaper, I'm a smoker, so I'm looking forward to being able to have the feel of smoking with the taste of vape. I got the starter and 3 batteries plus extra charger and I have a puff regular so I think I'm good to go and the eroll should do well to replace real cigs. I find myself craving my flavors and analogs taste icky.

My eRoll came today! It's amazing! The smaller inhaler actually helps with the inhaling process so I can't take in too much. It feels like a real cig. Have only had 2 analogs today, I can't finish one - they taste gross. The eRoll is magic!

Congrats!!! You sound so excited, lol. Happy Vaping!!
