Been gaping for years but recently changed setups a few months ago to Smoke al85 & have loved it…until a few days ago when it suddenly just stopped working, completely! No response whatsoever from it. Tested tank & battery, both fine. Got firmware for it from someone who contacted Smoktech & received it from them after bricking theirs but pc doesn't register it at all on Windows XP when connected with good charge & sync data cable. Any ideas??? I'm lost here. Any help appreciated. Thx much!,,<^.,.^>,,

You should not be on the internet with Windows XP.

Edit: It's just that you'll get a bunch of viruses and it's pretty easy for hackers to break into it. You could probably get a linux distro that would install, be faster and way safer... I wasn't trying to be rude with the comment. I have 2 XP machines, there is no way in heck I would put them online.

Welcome and glad you joined.
Could also try three additional avenues of inquiry:
Local Vape Shop -----Might be simple.
Vendor who sold it ---see if they will repair or replace or advise (any authorized distributor).
Manufacturer contact ---see if they will repair or replace or advise.

Thx for the concern & info. I haven't used it to go online as I don't have wifi right now & I do have a copy of Linux, just haven't installed it yet.

Thx for those ideas, I'll def try these avenues before shelling out $ for a new mod.

I have read about others having problems with SMOK AL85. If you have had it less than 90 days, might want to tell the world about your treatment regarding avenues of compensation.
SMOK "There is a three month warranty for most of our battery operated devices."
