Just wanted to say hello and share my story.

My story started 4 days ago while I was helping my father at his house clean some stuff up since he has been ill. I stayed the night and the next day woke up feeling like crap. So after seeing the doc in the box turns out I have bronchitis that my dad was nice enough to share with me. Even though I tried I could not smoke a cig with out the 4th of July happening in my chest. That is when I remembered my dad had tried to use a vaper about a year ago and dug through his closet to find it. I quickly charged it up and found out how to fill it. To my surprise I was able to smoke it no problem.

That was all 3 days ago and I have not had one cigarette since! Also my father has been relived of his vaper device as reparations for giving me bronchitis. Its says Kanger EVOD on the side and it works pretty good I went online and ordered a few more of the tanks so I could have some different flavors loaded up as all he had left was some coconut stuff.

Anyways, I hope to learn a lot on this forum and catch up on the knowledge I need to be able to continue not smoking. This is the first time since 2006 I have quit from being a pack a day smoker.

I know this sounds kinda noobish but I am trying to figure out how to clean this thing out and also how to replace the metal part that goes into the tank. I have been reading the forums but the acronyms and names are still over my head. Unfortunately I do not have a manual and all I have is 1 tank and 3 of these metal things that go inside the tank. Can some one link me to a good source for general maintance and tips on the Kanger Evod if it helps it says p1403 on the front of the battery part.

My next question is how much nicotine compared to a cigarette is in the flavor I have been using. Its by Red Oak called Island flavor and comes in a 15ml bottle and on the back of the bottle it says 1.8%. Is this a lot as I have noticed I takes quite a few puffs to oust my craving. I ordered two more tanks and two more flavors that say 24mg and come in 10ml bottles. I figured I should start out quite high being a pack a day smoker and want to make sure that I do not turn back to the death sticks.

Welcome Cbell! Yah, vaping is a whole new world. I remember the days of trying to smoke with whatever nasty case of bronchitis had found its way into my chest. Hurt like hell, but I still did it. Been vaping for 15 months (14 smoke-free) and voila! No bronchitis. Colds have only lasted a few days and never settle in my chest.

Thomas pulled up a good reference chart - however everyone is different, so YMMV. 1.8% nic is the same as 18mg. 24mg would be 2.4% nic. Most are branded by mg rather than percentage, from what I've seen.

If you're so inclined, you can rebuild your heads (coils/atomizers - same piece, different terms) You would need some equipment: ohmmeter, nail clippers or wirecutters, organic cotton (cottonballs work really well on those heads - I've been rebuilding mine for a year) a 1/16" drill bit, and a pair of scissors. I haven't bought a replacement coil in that time (unless a couple would come with a new tank.) Or, you can at least dryburn your heads a few times before you finally dispose of one.
