Hey everyone, my first post here but lots of reading and research here already lol. So I've got my (basically 3rd cause I was too dumb to catch on the first time lol) first decent setup with a vision spinner and an aspire ce5-s with the bottom coils. While its a nice setup, I tried my brother-in-laws box mod (had a drip system but I'm not going into all that yet) and I'm looking into moving that direction.

I was set on the istick 50w so I could have a little bit of head room for different tanks and the built in batteries sounded appealing as I don't have a charger or batteries yet until I could get them and a charger. Then as reading I heard about the autofiring issue so it was a majorly off putting for me.

Now I'm considering just waiting a little bit and scraping up the extra 50 bucks or so to get a couple of batteries and a charger with the IPV mini 2 which would give me more play room and not so much worry about unreplaceable batteries dying out down the road.

I was planning on also probably going to get the horizon arctic sub ohm tank or delta 2 with that when i can afford this excursion lol. But I was going to get an 510-ego adapter to use the ce5-s when I want to be a little more stealthy and not blow giant clouds all day or if I want some more nicotine lol. But I was wondering how it'd work on this box since I was probably going to get a mini nati for the spinner 2 and give that to my wife to use.

So tl/Dr
1. How does the setup overall sound?
2. How do people like the ipv mini 2?
3. Any suggestions as to which batteries and amperge to use in it?
4. How does the horizon arctic and delta 2 work with it.
5. How would the ce5-s with the non nati bvc work on the ipv? Obviously lower settings lol?
6. And last but not least, how does the mini nati work on the spinner? Or are there any other recommendations for a decent inexpensive 1.0 ohm + with adjustable airflow that'll work good with the spinner?

1. Sounds good to me.

2. A lot of people like the IPV Mini 2. If you buy one with a painted finish you'll need a skin or a wrap to protect it. Personally, I like the worn-in look. It gives character.

3. Go for Samsung 25R flat tops. They go for $6 a piece at Illumn.com. Buy a pair and get a free plastic case. They also sell silicone sleeves and battery wraps, so it may be worth it to grab those too.

4. Both of those tanks are 510 threaded and I'm sure they'll work like a charm.

5. Yep, just lower the wattage. Make sure you get a 510-eGo adapter.

6. The Naut Mini comes with a beauty ring thats used for any eGo batts you have. It works great and its the number one tank I recommend to people.

I personally like a worn in look too but I'm definitely outside a lot so it'll be worth it for the skins for me. And that's a good deal for those batteries. I've seen them for about 10 or a few dollars cheaper so far but nothing like 6 per.

And yeah I was definitely going to get an adapter for it. The non nati bvcs are pretty cheap so itll be nice having that on hand, especially for going out and not running down my juice.

And I looked at the mini natilus plenty of times for myself but then I figured I could use the ce5 for now and then get a better high resistance tank for myself sometime down the line.

Welcome CJ.....

I have the iStick 50W and an iPV Mini2. Truthfully, I kinda regret the Mini2 purchase - I've NEVER run 70W on anything. I don't have a battery that would handle it, and I actually prefer the more "instantaneous" ability to change my power on the fly with the iStick. The Mini2 does allow you to change power levels, but when you change it, it locks it in as a power setting (one of five you can store for "quick access")

I run everything from about 0.5ohm - 2ohm on the Mini2 and the iStick. I've not dipped to 0.2ohm, but I really don't have a desire to. I have a couple RDAs and some SubTanks (Mini/Nano) Have a couple of Nauti's as well. I run the 1.6ohm coils in the Nautis around 12W (should be around 4.4V on a Spinner)

Of course YMMV :)

I have 2 of the iStick 50W and love them. I also highly recommend the Nautilus Mini with the BVC coils (own 4 Mini's... I switch flavors often just by swapping tanks.) I used the mini's on a Spinner 2 before I got my mods. Recently I have bought a couple of the Kanger Subtank Mini's and really like them too. Though I'm just using the 1.2 ohm coils for the time being, the build deck and .5 ohm coils are there if I want. Good luck in your decisions.

That locking in thing sounds interesting as I'm going to be switching between a few different tanks but how difficult is it to change the memory bank settings after being set?

And I've definitely looked at the subtanks too. Definitely appealing but I'm just not sure if I'm going to be any good working with an rba. My eye sights not that great and my hands are very fumbly lol.

Rebuilding is easier than you think. if you get crazy complicated it's difficult, but as long as you stay simple it's a piece of cake. Have you seen the Kuro coilers? I'd recommend it if you have trouble wrapping coils.

I see it here for $75 but it just came out. Thatll come down if youre willing to wait too
Batteries are built in. Innokin mvp's are very reliable and durable. If i didnt have an istick 50 and was employed, id buy this myself tbh. Fires just as low resistances as the istick 50, much better construction quality, and a way longer battery life and it can push 60w vs the istick 50's 50w. This particular kit comes with an isub g tank and the charger and the ego adapter. For $75 in my personal opinion, thats a pretty good deal.

So I'm not really going to answer any of your questions with this, but I will say take a look at the smok xpro m80. It'a a great mod with mech and temp modes. the internal battery is something that you're looking for as well. I love mine, I've had it about a month with no issues, and it'll take you from beginner tanks to sub tanks to just about any build you put o. It. Best part, it's only 85 bucks from the right shop. Just a thought!

I bought an istick 50w a few weeks ago and I am so happy with my purchase. No problems at all. Maybe it could "auto-fire" if you put it in your pocket while it's on and something hits it right on the fire button but I always turn mine off when I pocket it so no worries. I also got the Subtank Mini and I love that also. I've tried the Atlantis(my 2nd favorite), the Arctic, and the Delta II but I get the best flavor from the subtank mini. Also, learning to rebuild if you ever want to go that route is easy on the subtank mini since it comes with an optional rebuildable section. I would suggest you get an istick 50w or 30w and a subtank mini with a pack of cotton and a few feet of 26g kanthal wire, all for about $100 total. PS. I run my subtank mini at about 16w and I got a Mut X V3 dripper I run at 30w so... whatever you think you might need.

Yeah I've heard problems with the x80pro. Not to say its bad but I'm looking for pretty much anything about 50w to 70w that's reliable and isn't going to cost me an arm and a leg with a couple of batteries (I know most in this range run one 18650) and a charger. Not that I'll know I'll need 50 watts or more because...I don't think I really will. But if it all works the same at lower wattages I'd prefer to be able to mess around with some of the higher settings without having to buy a new mod to tinker around with new toys.

The mvp3pro has me very interested though. It looks like it'll be affordable (though I would eventually use it for a backup after another mod at some point when I have the money) and pretty much right what I'd be looking at. It'll just have to stand the test of time lol.

Edit. Granted even though being a bit of a bit of a newbie once it comes out I have a suspecision that the mv3pro will probably be my best best for what I want as well as offering a backup later on. So if I see one and have a chance to get it I'll let you guys know how it is.

Also I've considered the istick 30 and a few other 30w mods but like I said I'd rather have the extra headroom to find sweet spots on different tanks as I tinker with them rather then not really giving them what they deserve and then having to upgrade my mod because of it...if it makes sense. I'm unemployed right now so moneys a bit scarce.

FWIW, I have read that the IPV Mini 2 has a problem in that you can't really drop your wattage down (I think they call it step down?). So you can't set it where the mod will fire lower than the voltage provided by the battery. For example, if you have a freshly charged battery at 4.2 volts, the lowest that it will fire is at 16.4 watts if you have a 1 ohm coil. And if you have a 2.0 ohm coils, the lowest it will fire is 8.2 watts. Not a big issue if you're subohming, but it would be an issue if you're using your CE4 tanks with lower ohm coils.

I have an IPV Mini 2 and it works fine for me. It's pretty tall, and if you are using a taller tank then it can get pretty big. I have an Atlantis with the 5ml tank on it and it is the tallest set up I have, even taller than my IPV 4 with an Atlantis 2 on it.

With the single 18650 battery, battery life can also be lacking as well. If I was using it all day long, it would not last me the entire day. Someone mentioned the MVP 3.0 Pro. I would recommend that as well as it does have 60 watts and a 4500 mah battery life.

The coils on my aspire clearomizer is 1.6-.2.1ohms. Shouldn't be a problem for any of the box mods to handle with the ego adapter.

And if the mvp3pro is around the same ball park as the istick 50. I should have money for the sigeli 100w+ or whichever is available at that point, I should have batteries at that point and a good charger if I go with the MVP. Its sounding more and more appealing because if I want to go to a higher wattage box then I have a 60w to fall back on.

Plus if I know my wife gets into this...granted I'll be doing all of the math work for her on sub ohm tanks if she gets into this that having a spare around might not be a bad thing if she wants to use it instead of the spinner...later on lol.
