Hey all, I'm new to e-cigs and this site, as you can tell.

I just ordered my first e-cig. I figured while I was still young, to just try and quit. After all. My father's health issues contributed to smoking for the most part. After he passed, I made my mother quit..then I started

My mother knows I smoke, to my surprise she doesn't care as much as i thought. But she tells me she wishes I would stop. So I'm doing this as a favor to her, and myself really. I used to be a Varsity Track and Ice hockey player in HS. I used to race Downhill Mountain bikes. Race my ATV, and I went to the gym religiously. I feel like I threw that all away starting to smoke..

so there's my story...whats yours?!

Welcome to ECF. My story is very long, I smoked for 42 years and have been analog free for 4 months. I am very happy, don't cough, don't get headaches, my sense of taste and smell have returned. My breathing however is permanently damaged. I smoked for a long time. I think that your decision to quit while you are young is very, very smart. Research the forum and find a PV that is right for you and your lifestyle. Ask questions here if you have them. Check out Mistress Nomad's videos

Best of luck.

Welcome iiTzHoliC. I am new here myself.

I been a 15 years light smoker (5-7 cig a day).
I had got it down to becoming a social smoker (only smoking with going to bar), but I enjoyed it too much to totally stop it.
However, I feel that is not enough (smoking & drinking together very bad for oral cancer).

If I can go back in time, I would definitely of not pick this habit up.
But since I can not go back in time, I will have to do what I can now.
I want to have a better chance to live long, so I can enjoy thing in life with family and friends.

Welcome..I am also new here..
I have tried every possible method to quit smoking. I have been vaping for about 2 weeks and am on my last pack of analogs.
I have 4 cigs left and want to finish them off tonight.I want to start a fresh day without analogs tomorrow.
I have been a smoker for 30 years and feel terrible all the time anymore.
My son and I bought mountain bikes and we plan on starting biking next week.He wants me to quit smoking so badly and actually likes the idea of me vaping instead of smoking.
Good luck on your new beginnings as a non-smoker.
I think this is going to be much better than the patches, gum and chantix that I have tried. The chantix ...thats crazy stuff.
This has to be much safer than any of the other methods I have tried and it sure does taste better :)

Welcome to ECF, and good on ya.

Another young vaper here. I started smoking for my own reasons, and honestly don't really regret it. But I also hated that I smoked. My dad smokes, and hasn't ever given me trouble about it. But I hated that I smoked, and I felt bad with him having to watch me smoke.

We're really lucky that e-cigs came around in our youths. I didn't have any luck using other ways to quit, and I tried everything short of Chantix (Chantix scares me, no way I'm taking that). E-cigs worked for me, before I wound up permanently damaging myself.

Have a look around and take as much time as you need to get a working knowledge of vaping so you can get a great first kit. I'd recommend looking into the Kr808, eGo, and 510. The eGo is basically a 510 with good battery life.

He he, thanks Springbird.

My story is too long to post in the forum, so here's the Reader's Digest version:

I started smoking when I was 12 and that was 33 years ago. My doctor's have been hounding me for years to quit smoking, not just because it's their job, but because of some very serious health concerns. I tried to quit on many occasions, using various different means including Zyban. The longest I ever quit was 8 months and that was after I had an emergency appendectomy. No matter what I tried, I just couldn't quit. I was ready to just give up on quitting and face the consequences until a coworker introduced me to an intriguing little device called the e-cig. Like a dumbass, I jumped in immediately and bought GreenSmokes. Those helped me cut down from 1.5 packs a day to half a pack, but I still wasn't happy. Then I stumbled on this forum while doing some research.

I devoured the information here, including Mistress' Newbie videos (thanks, Mistress! You helped save a life here), ordered a Riva and life hasn't been the same. I stopped smoking completely the day my Riva arrived and I haven't looked back since.

I'm glad you're here and that you're choosing to quit while you're still young!

Welcome and good for you for wanting to quit early...do it!!!

I smoked for 27 years and I tried several attempts to quit but never more then 24hrs. After smoking 27 years I wasn't sure I ever would stop even though I exercised regularly. Then I took up running and I needed to quit to plan my goal of a half marathon...Done my 5K while still smoking. Going to run my 10K in 5 days analogfree for 25 days...the day I got my ecig in the mail I quit...it's awesome! Now I know I will meet the goal of half marathon :)

Good luck and happy vaping
