New here and to vaping

I wanted to stop smoking. I have smoked on and off for almost 30 years. Longest time quit was 16 years. Remarried and was around heavy smokers. So alas started up again 2 years ago.
I first bought a Mystic..hated the after taste. Then bought a Gamucci Micro. Good flavors in the apple, vanilla and cherry but not alot of vapor or throat hit. Then got a Blu original. Like the Cherry crush...but not sure I am really satisfied yet.
Would like to learn to clean the Cartomizers to reuse to try other juices. I am more a fruit flavor person.
I want to stop smoking but so far these e-cigs don't give the throat hit of a real cig. We do roll our own cigs so we have saved over $7000 in a year now. But I would like to stop the real ones.

If you can disregard that they are larger than a cigarette, I highly recommend getting a larger battery device like an ego battery setup like in the pic below. These batteries will give you 6 - 13 hours of battery time between charges, and would allow you to use the larger juice delivery devices (tanks) like Dvx67 is referring to.

Batteries are rated in "mAh" according to how long they can be expected to be in use before needing recharged. 100 mAh is equal to 1 hour battery use. For example, a 650 mAh battery can be expected to last 6.5 hours, a 1300 mAh battery to last 13 hours.

A popularly recommended ego battery setup is like this one in the below link, which includes a video tutorial at the end. The ego Spinner and the ego Twist are variable voltage batteries, meaning you can adjust the heat of the vapor to each flavor of juice you use and adjust the throat hit.

Another article you should read on juice delivery devices: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/blogs/baditude/3230-1-proper-terminology-carto-tank-what-primer-juice-delivery-attachments.html

Throat hit results primarily in the strength of the nicotine in the e-liquids. To get more throat hit, more nicotine in the juice is required. Typically an average 1 ppd smoker would use 24mg strength e-liquid. To a lesser extent, the percentage of Pg (propylene glycol) in the eliquid can add a little more throat hit, too.

My favorite vendor specializes in fruit flavors. A little on the pricey side, but I don't mind spending a little more for excellent flavors. I've wasted too much money on cheaper juices that I didn't care for.

I knew no one that vaped when I started. I would put keyword searches in youtube.com and find out so much. Youtube has tons of videos for new vapers. I highly recommend it. Ego batteries or Spinners are great to start and affordable. Eliquid flavors are very subjective to what you personally prefer and take alot of trying small samples from various vendors before you find what you like and works for you. Keep reading in the forum here and ask alot of questions, but if you get a simple starter kit of an Ego or Spinner type device that comes with clearomizers, you should be good. Then search on youtube for more information on videos showing you the clearomizer you chose for your kit and about Ego's will help alot! That's what I did :) Well, back when I started vaping they didn't really have clearomizers and such, but just saying. :)
