Hey everyone, new here, just heard about ecigs and am interested in trying them. I've been browsing the forums the last hour and it seems like there is alot of information on here to process. I have however decided on the 901 ecig model. So here's my story.

I am 30 years old, soon to be 31. I have a been a pack a day smoker for 15 years. My brand for the last 8 years has been USA Gold Lights, similar to marlboro lights but IMO better taste than marlboro and they are cheaper.

I want to quit smoking, I have tried the patch that didn't last more than 2 days. My best result was from the nicotine gum 2 weeks, thats the longest I have quit smoking. I however missed the taste//hit of smoking. so here are a few questions I have.

1. What sites do you find are fair price and trustworthy to purchase from?

2. How much liquid will I need to last me a month? and what dose? I see 35 ml bottles and the strenght 2.5 mg to 0 mg. what would be appropriate for the amount I smoke per day?

3. I work outside alot during the day and always have my cigarettes in my pocket can ecigs be carried around safely?

4. how is the battery life on the 901's?

Hi Husker, welcome to the forum.

You might want to have a look at classic/penstyle devices - http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...9-what-best-penstyle-your-opinion-please.html

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...7-801-manual-switch-usb-cig-quick-review.html

Or DSE901 minis are frequently recommended for new users.

Look for reviews and recommendations, particularly from older members. Buying from a forum trader is usually the safest thing to do.

2ml is the average amount of eliquid to use per day.

Nicotine strength is measured in mg per ml (eg. 11mg per 1ml). It's most sensible to start off with a low dose and if it doesn't satisfy go up gradually. Get some zero or low and some high to start you off, you'll probably vape a lot so only use the high if you get cravings.

This thread will help you work out your dose - http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/health-safety-e-smoking/3598-nicotine-safety.html

Most people say they get 1-4 hours use from a DSE901 battery.

You can carry your device in your pocket. Some people take the battery off to avoid accidental switching, some don't bother.

Hello Husker.
I'm new to the forum also and have only been vaping exclusively now for about 2 weeks. I too had been a pack-a-day smoker but for approximately 35 years. I purhcased a DSE901, one 30ml bottle of 24mg e-juice and a spare atomizer to start. At the time of this writing I now have about a fourth of the bottle left after 2 weeks. The DSE901 I purchased came with a paper flip top box the same size/material as a king size analog cig box and has dividers in it so you can carry extra batteries and a few refill cartridges, so I carry it in my shirt pocket while at work. There are also sellers that have hard and soft cases you can purchase to carry e-cigs and accessories in also. A also purchased an extra battery charger so I could have one at work and one at home. My DSE901 battery lasts me approximately 4 hours so at lunch time I switch out the battery with a charged one I bring from home and I put the discharged battery in the charger I have at work. When I leave work at the end of the day I take the battery out of the charger and take it home with me so I will have a charged battery. Then I put the battery that I have used in the afternoon in the charger at home. But also realize that the length of time the battery lasts depends on how much you vape during the day, age and condition of the battery. I do plan on purchasing an additional battery or two, just in case. I agree with Kate, seek the advice of other members and check out the threads to help you decide on which is right for you. A lot of helpful information is available in the forum and I am still learning more all the time. Hope this helps. Good luck!
