Back again. I think I found a really good price on something called the FS 510. Any thoughts on that one? Also, what is the difference between manual and automatic?
Welcome to ECF, I would recomend the ego/Riva as a good reliable starter lit with univeral 510 attys and long battery life, then maybe a mod like the Provari or Darwin or Reo for a juicve fed as you progress.
Welcome to ECF. If cost is a concern you might want to look at Liberty-Flights for a deal on a Riva 510 system. It's very similar to the Ego, which is also a good system, but the Riva is cheaper. Go to a different site for your juice.
I have been analogue free for over a week and Im lovin it! If you do get a craving , have a vape , or wait for a second or two , it WILL pass.
Keep positive about what you are doing , they CAN be beat !
If you are getting strong cravings , up the nic level a tad . I went from 80 a day ( no , thats not a typo) to 0 in one week.
I wish you the best of luck , but most of all , I wish you the same easy transition I had !!
I am happy to report that I just ordered a Riva 510 starter kit from Liberty-Flight. I got a great deal by using a coupon code. I am stoked about it. Plus, it's PINK! Now I just have to go order some juice, which I am equally confused about.
For juice, I'd suggest going with sampler packs. Get a variety of flavors in various strengths between 12 and 24mg. That way you can find which flavors you like and what strength is right for you without spending a lot of money.
Probably the most basic liquid is RY4 flavor in PG liquid, 18 or 24 mg/mL nicotine. Whatever you order, get a smallish bottle (20 mL at most) and be prepared to order more very quickly. Figuring out what liquid you want to vape is the toughest part of starting out. Try to get a sample pack of different flavors and try at least one VG based liquid. Don't worry if you can't drop the smokes right away, take your time and get used to vaping.
You may want to start a new thread asking about your first liquid order, you'll get better responses than continuing this thread with a new question.
What a great post ThreePutt! I spent a lot of time researching my e-cig options this week, too! I hope to get my eGo-T tomorrow. My mall e-ciggies (that I ordered online) honeymoon was over in about 24 hours. How disappointing. I "liked" my first 24 hours with the e-cig. Didn't smoke an analog all day either. Then the batteries wouldn't hold a charge and the first couple puffs had fairly decent TH and then was too weak.
I knew from reading on this site that upgrading to "juice" was the way to go. I am looking forward to a full flavored juice experience with vaping. Just need to decide where to order a juice sample pack. Lots of options.

Happy quit date Lanhew... hope the mail is fast. lol. Lots of links on 1st page for approved vendors of juice. The hard part is selecting some (hint... lots of small samples. Average use is about 2-3 ml per day)
Good choice to stop smoking!! I smoked for 15 years and tried many different ways under the sun to stop. I went "cold turkey" if you will the day I got my eGo-t. I ordered from Atmos and got it rather quick. But the day i got it once it was charged i just started using it and to this day am still going strong. I found you have to push away the need to smoke and just have a good vape. A good game plan and having lots of extra's seems to crush the fear you might have to go buy a pack to limp on. I got the eGo-T and 30ml's to get the ball rolling and ordered another 70ml's as not to get bored with the flavors. With 2 1100mah batteries i only need the one for a day. So i swap out the dead one each morning before i leave for work. It may not be the best vape out there but it's a no fuss, no brainer for a newb such as me. I got the bug and now am getting different things here and there to get the most out of my eGo. Today i got a no frills high volt pass through to use with the tank atty's and it is a rather good pair.
Congrats on your Riva purchase... I started not long ago with a mall unit and had battery problems and had a few analogs a day untill the fourth day when I could keep the batteries charged, then I had no analogs since. I was a 30-40 a day smoker and had (had...thats past tense!! I am proud to be able to say that!!) been smoking for 20ish years and it only took 4 days to switch to Ecigs.... I got a Riva from LF also ( bout a week and a half ago) and I am super pleased with it... a few days ago my wife also got one from LF and she loves it as well.
As far as analogs go... dont think of it as quiting, just switching. Like as if to a new brand or something, it kinda helps with the mental stress of thinking about quiting. Good luck in your journey and hope to see you here for a long time to come.
