Hey guys,

So my father has been smoking for about 30 years although he did quit for a few years but went back on them. I'm trying to help him find the most hassle free e-cigarette. He went to the doctors and saw some people with them and thought it'd be a good idea, so he's been looking into buying GreenSmokes e-cigs. On other sites they seem to get some pretty good reviews and are one of the top E-Cigs but on here I don't see much hype about 'em just by browsing. He's used to smoking Marlboro's and two packs a day :)shock: $16 dollar a day habit!) so something most equivalent would be nice. I've heard some bad things about the GreenSmoke batteries dying fast, or coming defective, but I hear they do replace them for you. I know they're more on the pricey side but regardless the savings from real cigarettes are immense I calculated roughly 3,500 per year if he switches full time. I was also looking at the less expensive Blu Cig, but I hear the vapor production is lacking and the Greensmoke seems to exclusively have a atomizer built in to the cartridges so you don't have to worry about them being burned out.

With price not being a big object of concern, what's the best e-cig for this type of smoker. Is greensmokes worth it? I think for him the big things are Plenty of Vapor, ease of use, and how long it lasts.

Thanks

If money is not a concern, I still say the 510 is the best. Cignot dot com is the prefered seller of Joye 510s on this forum and 510s are the best starter e cig from what I understand. Yes, they are also very cheap compared to what you find in local stores and give better vapor. For $35 and free shipping, it's a bargain, $20 less than what I paid for sure. Don't forget to add some juice, any juice, to your first order. Good luck.

For a heavy smoker I think I'd be inclined to suggest something like the Janty eGo. They use a 510 atomizer which is very popular and have a long lasting battery. Using a standard skinny battery can get frustrating because you end up running back and forth to the charger every hour or two switching them out. They say the eGo batt. lasts a good 8 to 10 hours. When you're quitting a heavy cig. habit the last thing you need is more frustration. He'll need lots of e-juice too.

I'd get an eGo and a Kr808... that's what is working for me...

I'd go with the ego over the 510...

If you go with a 510/ego, I'd get some juice for the carts and I would get some 510 cartomizers...

cartomizers are nice for when you start... no hassle... easy access...

I fear a heavy smoker may not be satiated with a two piece unit alone... he'll need power and easy access.

Is there a good place to get e liquid? i see a lot of people make their own but it seems like a project to do, so is there a place to buy bottles of the stuff? Like tobacco flavored? And are all liquids compatible with all e-cigs?

How many times can you reuse a cartridge before it clogs? Especially cartridges like greensmoke that have a built in atomizer (i don't know if that's relevant or not)

Start with 510's if the batt changing becomes to big a hassel, go for the Ego, in the order. These are tried and tested, I spent in grand total ( wife is watching money ) $ 430.00 in total, but $ 108.00 of that was for 4 bottles of e-juice from the mall, which will NEVER happen again.:shock::shock:

Welcome and good luck...I have the Ego simply due to the battery life...For me, because I vape so much....The battery lasts about 4-6 hours depending on where I am and what I am doing...I also like using all the cheaper 510 attys so for me, it is the best of both worlds...My wife uses a Joye 510 that she likes, but vapes maybe half as much as me...
Joye 510 costs around 35-45 dollars....Ego from around 75-85 dollars, U.S.
Good luck and hope it works out....Enjoy...
P.S. If a heavy smoker,,,start with 24mg nic, if too much, you can always cut it with say 11-16 mg nic...or even 6-10 mg nic....It is totally up to each individual...that is another thing that is so great about vaping...To each their own...

since he is a heavy smoker get a passthrough, and a 510.. then his batteries will get time to charge.. he can use that any time he is around a plug car, home.. at a 16$ a day cig habit.. it will be payed off in 3-5 days.. get a few extra attys.. and a few different 5-10 ml juice flavors.. of around 24-36mg

with the money he saves if he likes it he can upgrade to a mod with longer battery life..

I'd go straight to the GG. Go high volt and satisfy the craving. The money you put out will pay for itself in the long run and the satisfaction of the dense vapor will mean he wont go back.

I was a pack a day smoker for 15 years before I went to the E-cig. I got the KR808 and the RN4062 E-cigars before I forked over the cash for the GG and I wish I had gotten it first. Vaporkings.com talk to Rob!

I'd say absolutely not. It's a high voltage mod and it's NOT recommended for new vapers. (Yes, I have one myself). They're an AMAZING e-cig, but they can be complicated. Even Vapor Kings doesn't recommend them for newbies.

Your dad's best bet is the Ego. I have one of those too and I love it! The battery life is amazing, should last him at least 5 or 6 hours. Make sure you order some spare atomizers with it and a high nicotine mg like 24 or even 36mg's.

For a flavor, I'd suggest a tobacco one, (at least to start!), and some of the most popular flavors are 555 and RY4.

Good luck and congrats for trying to get your Dad healthy!!

I hope he quits, and this is the way to do it.....a 510 is the only way to go.
i am testing a 510 PCC starter kit from Revolver called the Gemini....way better than any of the 510 PCC kits out there. One very cool feature is it comes with a atomizer that produces a ton on vapor and they market it for the heavy smokers who are used to suckin on analogs all day.
Anyway check them out, inexpensive eliquid as well. Reguardless get him a 510....good luck!!!!!

JayMel, Mixing juice is about as complicated as mixing orange juice from concentrate. The other day I whipped 30 ml of my 20 mg Mocha Cream juice while my wife was drying her hair (about 5 min.). I guess though that it's good to buy juice at first (just save your bottles) until you find all the sources for your mixing supplies. As far as carts clogging? I've always used 901 carts and still have the first ones I got with my first kit. I'bve rinsed them out and replaced the filler several times but still use the plastic carts.

Hi JayMel. Welcome to the forum.

Get the eGo kit (2 atomizers, 2 batteries, 5 pre-filled carts, a charger) and about 30mL bottle of 24mg juice in 555 or MLB flavor.

ALSO: it might be a good idea to get some 510 cartomizers (battery and atomizer in one piece) just to try and see if he likes those better.

Good luck!
