Hey everybody
Im new here and not new to vaping, and realized I was quite the noob lol. I decided to try and quick smoking real cigarettes as I rapidly approach my 30th birthday. Two or three years ago I got suckered in by ads and got a blu starter kit. That lasted all of about 3 days before I gave up and went back. No vapor, had to suck in the most rediculous way to even get a hit. About a year later I watched some youtube vids and thought I was a little more informed so I tried again. I ended up getting some joye off brand version of a 510. I liked refilling my own cartriges better but still not even close to enough vapor and batteries died quickly. THIS time I found this site and poured over a metric ton of info and decided to try again. I just placed my order today so i dont know if itll work out this time but I wanted to see if some vape vets could tell me if I might at least be on the right track this time? I ordered everything seperately instead of getting a starter pack so I could attempt to tailor this to my needs/wants/desires. I smoke a pack a day marlboro/pall mall reds.

I want: lots of vapor, medium to strong throat hit, decent battery life, medium to strong flavor.

I ordered: joyetech ego c 1000mah twist battery (I found higher voltage is better but also means I need a larger batt to get more overall life) , 1.8 ohm LR type b atomizers/heads, type b 2.2 ml tanks, charger, e liquid (24 mg marlboro red 75% vg 25% pg)

Does it seem that I made the right choice? I hope so. Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Welcome back to the hobby. No wrong choices if it gets u off cigs. For me experimenting was/is half the fun. I enjoy having the versatility of adding my own juice flavs. There are many was to do that. Sounds like ur on the right path. Once I got a solid foothold with equipment, it then freed me up to try even more set ups. Enjoy the ride!

Welcome mjricha!

Best of luck to you...

Is it safe to assume that you ordered the atomizer base and cone to go with all this?

In regards to your juice, you may well end up being disappointed that it's not nearly as close to your current cigarette brand as you might hope. Truth is, you should try to embrace that rather than fight it. You probably won't find ANY tobacco juice that properly replicates ANY cigarette, simply because the bulk of a tobacco's flavour as it's smoked comes from the combustion. Instead try to embrace the delicious flavours that are otherwise available.

As to whether you made the right choice? There really is nobody who can tell you that you made a wrong one. You're trying to get off cigarettes, and THAT'S what is most important. Given what you're looking for in a vaping experience though, you've certainly done well for yourself in comparison to what you've tried before.

Best wishes.

the eGo twists are great batteries mjricha, and the atomizers made for the eGo c batteries are good. I have seen good reviews and bad reviews for the eGo C's atomizer tank system. Just to give some perspective, one of my favorite reviewers says the C in eGo C stands for Complicated. haha. I don't like that they made those weird proprietary atomizers for it, but, whatever. You can use any 510 connection atomizer or cartomizer or 510 cartomizer tank or vivi nova or whatever you'd like. But for now, I think you'll enjoy the eGo C's atomizer and tank system... Its different, but its not a bad choice. It'll be good.

If you still feel like the vapor is lacking with the eGo C atomizers and tank, then just pick up a vivi nova tank or a cartomizer tank with some replacement cartomizers. I have no experience with the eGo C atomizers myself, but, I've heard a lot of people abandon the eGo C's atomizer/tank system and just switch to what I've mentioned. You'll love the twist battery, and since you can buy any 510 threaded connection atomizer, cartomizer, cartomizer tank, or rebuildable clearomizer or clearomizer tank like the vivi nova or the smoktech titan, you'll have plenty of options if you want to replace the eGo C's atomizer and tank system.

You should get plenty of vapor, especially with the 75% VG juice. VG juice gives you much more vapor and cleaner flavor compared to juice with more PG in it, but PG juice gives you better throat hit. I personally like a mix of 70/30 PG/VG for my juice. You might find that the VG is thick, and it COULD have trouble getting from the plastic tank, to the eGo C atomizer... But that is rare, you should be fine. You can experiment with watering down the juice with distilled water if your having trouble getting the juice to flow properly, but it should work just fine.

You did make a good choice. while I wouldn't personally order the eGo C's atomizers and tanks, and I would instead order 510 threaded cartomizers and maybe a cartomizer tank, or a vivi nova tank... thats just me because of what my favorites are. T

he eGo C should work wonderfully and it should be very enjoyable. Maybe when you feel like it, you can order some of the suggestions for tanks/cartomizers that I've listed here. Your going to enjoy the eGo battery and your going to like the eGo C system I'm sure! Let us know if you have any more questions. You can also PM me with any questions you may have. Your gonna love your new PV and smoking will feel dirty and taste gross soon enough. Enjoy. :)

Thats not bad to start with, seems the juice you bought is heavy in vg, (vapor production) and low in pg (flavor production) Thats stated in the simplest terms of course there are exceptions. I would suggest buying a couple of ego mega cartomizers to try also. makes a ego similar to holding a cigar and I love them.

holywannabe, that is an eGo twist, it looks like a 900mAh, although it might be higher mAh, like a 1000mAh twist. The bottom should twist so that you can UP the voltage depending on the resistance of that clearomizer you've got on it. Keep it low because I doubt you've got a high res clearo.

mjricha, here is a link to a webpage with a great break down of the eGo C's proprietary atomizer and tank system. See, its different from just using 510 threaded cartomizers, attys, or clearos. http://www.myfreedomsmokes.com/pages/how-it-works/about-the-joyetech-ego-ego-t-ego-c.html#eGoC3Piece You may love it, a lot of people do. But if you do not, you can put anything else on your eGo battery that is 510 threaded, it is very versatile. I think you'll love it, but want more. haha. I hope I've helped. Like I said, PM me any time.

You made a great choice in my opinion. Addressing the things that you said you want: if you find a juice that you like, vapor and battery life will be great with your setup. I did find the ego tank and atomizer setup mutes flavors and throat hit quite a bit. Use what you have until the vivi nova or carto tank that you are going to order arrives in the mail. Once it arrives, your hardware will be fine and the quest for your perfect juice can begin.

One more thing, did you buy two? If not, get another twist ASAP. It takes about three hours to charge the twist. You will want backups anyway. Good luck in your new journey! This has been the easiest way for me to get off the cigs. Even the little frustrations, which haven't been many thanks to ECF, aren't enough for me to go back to smoking.

If you have any questions or problems, post them and there will probably be someone that has gone through the same thing. They will be able to walk you through.

:)

The twist is a good battery imo. I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Nearly everyone does. I never use them anymore because i break everything. I got tired of resoldering connections everytime a mishap occured. Most people won't/don't have that problem. Its a great vape. Thats all that matters. For the price you could break it beyond repair every week and it would still be cheaper than smokes.I used the type a cartridges but i chain vaped pretty heavily and got tired of refilling. The system has it's quirks, flow problems and such. They aren't hard to figure out. Just keep at it and find the draw that works best. Watch the silicon caps and make sure they don't plug your atty, use a primer puff if you get a dry hit and still have juice in the tank. That's about it. My experience to in a nutshell.

Ego twists are great for start, you get the posibility to regulate Volts, so you can use different resistance attys
we (me and my friend) started with 18mg, 24mg was too much, probably because i was chainvaping when i started

but as most of us, sooner or later you will move to the higher levels of vaping, and will move to mods
and mixing liquids is fun

and anything that helps you forget analogs is good choice

I'll 2nd Robino's notion that you should get a backup eGo or backup mod, just in case you read that and though "ehh, I won't NEED a backup, I'll be fine" no. lol. you should have backups for your backups ideally. lol. backups are a good thing. so, once you get into this vaping thing and your ready to quit the cigs all together, get yourself another eGo battery, or 2, or three. Its fun to shop around and get new mods or new eGos, some eGos have different engravings or patterns too. But I definitely recommend back ups for your eGo, backup cartomizers, and backup juice.
