Hey there everyone,

I just joined and I don't have an ecig yet. I was thinking its a toss up between the Joye 510 (with e2 ceramic cartomizers if you can find 'em...anyone know where?) and the Vapor king starter kit. Any recommendations?

I also can't figure out why the GG Ss or aluminum is anything other than a glorified battery holder?

I hope to learn alot from you guys.

Glorified battery holders give you a lot of power and good vaping. Once you been vaping a little while your tastes will change i think.
It becomes less about what it looks like and more about satisfaction.

Welcome to ECF. Welcome to the future of "smoking". Cept it aint smoking. Smoking is yesterday.

You are going to love it.

I'm relatively new to it, couple months, and yeah, started with the 510. I'm waiting (and waiting and waiting) for the danged post office to bring my "in transit" 510-T. Friend of mine swears starting off with the tank system is the way to go ("No more fiddling!" she says...meaning she's not constantly adding more juice.) But, having not used it first hand, can't say for sure, but it's what I've told a couple other people to just start off with.

Even more important, I think, is finding a juice you like. That can take some poking around. If you hate the flavor you're vaping, you may turn off to the whole experience.

I vape both with MANUAL batteries. Manual batteries are better in many ways.

510 manuals are even completely sealed on the threaded end so very safe against being damaged or killed by juice leaks. You can use a drip tip and drip on the atty. And I mostly use Boge cartomizers (you need the standard resistance ones on a slim battery) Most people prefer dripping or cartos vs using cart+atty. And NoSmokeVA.com has a great PCC for standard size 510 batteries. Downside is battery life - 1-3 hours for heavy to light vapers. If you are near AC or USB most of the time for charging (and remember to charge!) then it should be OK. Or you could get a 510 mega xl manual kit (FreedomSMokeUSA has a couple of colors) for 60% more charge life - 128mm long w/ a cartomizer so longer than a cig but good life (but you need to use the less roomy metal Joye 510 Mega PCC with these). Another downside for some people - very very few prefilled cartos.

KR808D-1 aka Vapor4Life - more of a one-trick pony but great for someone who wants prefilled cartos. Somewhat hotter hit than 510 since KR8 is a 3.7v device and V4L's WOW cartos run pretty hot. This is desirable for someone looking for hard hits, not so much for people looking for softer hits with medium and high nicotine. The manual batteries still have a hole in the end so you need to be extra careful with dripping (use a DSE901 atomizer) and with refilled cartomizers, but at least the chance of damaging or killing the battery with a juice leak is much lower than with auto batteries.

Start with whichever interests you the most because chances are you will own both of them before a month has gone by. Curiosity :)

If you get one of these and want a lot more hit or a lot more battery life, then you need to get a fat battery model, either an Ego or Riva 510 or the true 3.7v things like GGTS and so so many others which can all use with LR attys/cartos

I am not sure why OP seems to be stuck on C-E2 cartos, they are nice but a bit tricky, I would recommend starting with boge cartomizers they are simpler give good flavor and hit, they are easier to find and much more noob friendly.

If you are insistant on C-E2s many of the forum suppliers listed in the forum suppliers button at the top of the forum carry them.

Thank you all for your replies. Still a little dizzy with all the terminology but I guess I'll learn it all in time. I think I'll start with the VaporKing as it seems the simplest of the bunch. I wish joye had a direct website like V4L does so you can buy everything you need in one spot.

It also seems better to have cartomizers bec if I understand correctly each time you switch flavors you get a brand new atomizer and only the battery stays static. On the 510 models you're using the same atomizer forever so it's probably more prone to burn out.

What brand cartomizers are used for the GG?
