Hi all...I am new to this forum...and I had something to say about the FDA and ecigs. I am posting here because the system won't let a new poster post in the area that might be the more appropriate one for this post.

The FDA does not and never has regulated "herbal remedies"....most of which are intended for ingesting. There have been attempts over the decades to change this ...attempts from the public, by the way...NOT the FDA...all such efforts have failed. In light of the fact that the most potent carcinogen known to mankind comes from a tree....and the fact that the belief that "anything natural is healthy" borders on insane...I would think that "herbal remedies" might be regulated.

I think it is over the top to think eliquid should not be monitored in any way. I think ecigs should be "regulated" to a degree equal to that of cigarettes...which ain't much. If the FDA is so concerned about your "health" why do they not investigate the contents of a cigarette? They don't have jurisdiction over normal cigs...so .. that is stopping them? I mean, so long as they are on a massive power grab campaign..why don't they test the little puppies? The fact is..tobacco companies furnish the government w a cert of analysis..i.e., they perform the required testing...not a government agency.

If you have not read the FDA's 4 may 09 report, "evaluation of the Electronic Cigarette"...you might not want to ...it will surely make you wonder just HOW those that prepared the document got thier job...and just WHY you pay taxes!!! I do not say this because I am "for the ecig"...I say it from a pure "quality" perspective. The document is an embarrassment to the USA - regardless the subject! After all...other countries will be looking at the document.

At any rate..if efforts to stop a ban are not made with something more than "the FDA doesn't have the jurisdiction" or "it is better for you"....I fear I won't be able to buy ejuice for much longer.
