Hey all! New to this forum and I'm a noob to vaping in general. I really want to get into vaping but I can't seem to get the right answers :|

I currently own a tesla vape (friend recommended it and he's really expirienced and he's been helping me) and I've been doing some research on vapes themselves and since there are so many I have no idea what's going on haha.

I have a few questions about tanks and I can't seem to find a tank sub forum. I saw it before but now I lost it.

The question I have is: I REALLY need a good tank. I recently just bought the SmokTank XL dual coil and when I got it I filled it up like usual and put a few drops in the carto and let it sit for a little bit. Everytime I take a hit I'm basically vaping burnt cotton. I can't get the juice to flow to the bottom and the holes are tiny.

The juice that I get is from pinkspotvapors.com because I really enjoy their juice.

I just want to get a tank that doesn't spit hot liquid at me (my last tank) and doesn't spill easily.

I'm also open to getting a new vape/set up because I am just tired of spending money and I just want a mechanical mod set up that will last me without breaking or anything else.

Thanks everyone! :)

Welcome to ecf.
The trick to the carto tank is when you first fill it, it needs to be totally saturated(looks like a slushy). I put the carto in the tank and then using a small blunt needle, fill the cartomizer, then the tank and put the top back on. After a couple of mins, put a tissue at the end of the carto tanks and blow gently through the top to blow out any excess liquid that could be in the airshaft. On filling the tank for the 2nd time, no need to put any eliquid in the carto because it is already primed.

Hope this helps.

addl info
Notice while vaping it that you will from time to time see small air bubbles coming up thru the eliquid. This shows you the eliquid in being pulled into the carto thru the tiny holes. I usually don't let my tanks get completely dry before refilling them. And depending on the type of elquid you use these can last sometimes up to 4 weeks before needing changed out.

Thanks for the advice!

I did what you said and the burnt cotton taste is still there, but there's a faint taste of the juice that's in the tank.

Here's what I did:

I pushed the carto halfway down the tank, filled it up so it covers the top of the carto, pushed the carto back up, and let the juice flow down the carto, and let it sit for awhile and let it drip out the bottom and once that stopped i took a hit and i can taste the juice but more burnt cotton. At least it's a start!

Yeah, sorry to say that once that burnt taste gets into the batting, you probably should just throw it away and start over. Pour the eliquid back into the bottle, throw the cartomizer away, put a new cartomizer in and take your time in filling the cartomizer. I am guessing you don't have a blunt needle but you can drip eliquid into the batting by tilting the cartomizer and pointing the bottle towards the outer wall trying not to get eliquid into the air shaft. The batting needs to be completely saturated, again should look like a slushy. This take a little bit of time, but it is well worth the effort. An x-large cartomizer should hold around 40 drops or so of eliquid.
The good news is that the cartomizers aren't really that expensive.
Give what I said a try and let us know how it goes. Patience here is well worth the wait.
