Hello,

I quit analog ciggies May 31st, 2015 and went to vaping. Started off with the sigelei 30 and the Atlantis Aspire tank. 6 months later I haven't had 1 whole cigarette in total (I took a puff a couple times) and have a ton of stuff now.

Used to smoke 50 cigs a day, hand rolled, organic tobacco I shredded myself. Also used a 20mm filter (the bigger one). Now I like vaping.

Humor... I was hanging out at my girlfriends house one morning, she was sleeping. Bored, it was 6am, I hooked up my mech tube mod with a TFV4 quad coil to the input of my cordless leaf blower. Hit both buttons. 30 seconds and the fire alarms went off, couldn't see more than a couple feet in there. She slept through the alarm.

So watch out for clouds and smoke alarms.

I would be careful with that.

Some people will tell you not to use a replaceable coil tank on a mechanical for the sake of the replaceable coil going bad and shorting.

You actually have another issue on your hands which is using a very low resistance coil on a single battery mechanical. A 0.15 ohm resistance is a lot for a single battery to handle and could be considered dangerous. You are better off with that on a dual battery device, prefeably a regulated one.

4V*4V/.15Ohms = ~100 watts 100/4 = 25 Amps. The battery I used was capable of that. Also of note, it's a clone Maraxus. Ground is stainless, to brass, stainless, brass to stainless across 6 pipe thread connections. It'll never put out 100 watts, even with a dead short on the 510 as the load. Comparing it to the regulated mod, vapor production is comparable to 60 watts with the .15. It (Maraxus clone) has a ton of internal resistance, which makes it safe for stupid stunts. I like the mod though, it's pretty tough, easy to fix and very forgiving.

That being said, I have had 3 dead shorts happen when a coil broke, jarred or something happened and all I got was some heat across the tube (quickly I might add). Just drop the battery and put in a silicone sleeve. Wait. No problems. One battery died for good (unrelated), no venting, just got hot. Those IMR batteries are pretty darn safe.

Happy vaping!

That's good to hear you are aware of the risks and know what to expect. What batteries are you using for the mechanical?

This blog may be of interest to you. A well respected member here on ECF has done battery tests for many of the popular batteries we use and what they are really capable of. It's a great reference if you are unsure on what to buy.

Scroll down the list to see your battery and the link will give you a test result by him.

The popular Sony VTC4 can be used at 30amps, but has its limitations. As of now it looks like the LG HB4 and HB6 are great true 30amp batteries, of course they have lower capacity though.
