Just a quick note to say I received my brand new Icon!

What a great successor to my favorite ecig!

The device is machined perfection. I'm a huge fan of stainless steel and this little guy has some heft. The threads are flawless and smooth as butter on both the button and 510 adaptor. The simple design and very solid construction makes it a perfect choice for anyone's "first mod". I would've preferred a stiffer spring, but I understand why they went with the softer one. I'm going to be buying some extras to give away as early Christmas gifts.

PS completely blew away my expectations in every regard! A+

Nice review.. I'm glad they're back on track.. PS needs a smooth sailing PV..
Might have to grab one..

You won't regret it. I'm using mine right now. It's everything I love about the Protege (size) and the V3 (bottom, locking, 100% consistent button) in one tiny package.

The device itself is gorgeous, as I expected. I got the media finish. The logo treatment looks very sharp and professional.

My only quibble is the 510 adapter is like the one on the Protege 1.1. That is, it's in a conical shape and has no well to catch any leakage that might occur. But, having said that, I'm using it now with a 306. If I'm careful, I won't make a mess. If I'm not careful, I'd better have a napkin handy.

Just one more reason I got away from attys and cartridges... I can't drip all day at work and have a diaper handy in case of spillage..

Cartomizers only for me.. (well i will use an atty if I'm testing some DIY juice recipe)

I still have my original V1 Prodigy and it's still going strong on the tact switch.
Great device... Just had bad switch reviews from what I believe to have been 95% user error (overtightening, leaking juice shorts, etc). I think I'll take it today 8-o

The old style adapter does look good on the Icon, but I like the conical one just a little more. I haven't over-dripped on any of my 14500 mods, but I understand the desire for a well.

And I almost forgot to mention the free gift I received with my Icon. A sample bottle of PS's new "Firecracker" tonic. WOW! Strong stuff, but addicting :p
Definitely reminds me of atomic fireball suckers.

This new juice almost stole the show.

For the price, you simply can't beat it. Pretty crazy considering the costs of other mods out there.

Nothing against the earlier Proteges (I still own 2 and they are among my favorite cigs), but the Icon is just in a completely different class. I simply wasn't expecting this PV to surprize me... but it did.

Tho the Icon is only my 2nd mod purchased (1st was aV2) I am dually impressed with its size/function-- love the fact that you can strip it down in seconds... everything comes apart & fits perfect. Very nice bit of machining. (I'd still like a WELL/MOAT style 510 adapter, & about an oz. to come off the heft... but that's a minor detail IMHO)
I had to order 2 more! lol

For anyone who has forsaken PS b4-- don't let that stop you from checking out the Icon, PS did good... REAL good!

I agree with you that the conical adapter looks better than the original one. But have you seen the V3's 510 adapter? It's not quite as.. I don't know what word to use.... squared? boxy? chopped off? as the original Protege's 510 adapter. It has a bit of a contour/conical appearance, but it's more open and has a well. The well isn't as deep as on the original Protege/V1/V2, but it serves its purpose really well. Plus, the sides come up far enough to cover the gap unless you look at it from above at an angle. That's a huge plus to me. And that's what I want for the Icon: an Icon-size version of the V3 adapter.

And re: Firecracker: oh yeah! that's some good stuff! :)

LOL! I totally understand that. I'm tempted to grab another one too. It's too bad I don't have any vaping friends in real life because I know what they'd be getting for Christmas.

True, I wouldn't be opposed to buying an adapter that looks like the V3's :thumb:
