Hey all how's it going. I'm new to the whole vaping thing, and have been off analogs for almost 2 weeks. I tried vaping once and decided to give it another try. I had used those gas station e-cigs and they didn't cut it. Decided to try an ego-c kit and has been working well. I just ordered a few ego twists, a vivi nova tank and some Vision V2's, see where that gets me. Seems like the vape monkey is already on my back, "hmm buy this...try that", kind of like my bait monkey for my fishing habit haha.

Most of the people who have been successful in quitting and staying away from tobacco have reported allowing the ecig to slowly take away the urge for tobacco. That worked for me. I still smoked one after a meal and a couple with coffee in the morning for quite a while. The first week I vaped, I went from over 2 packs a day down to less than 10. I never felt the "deprived feeling" that always made me give up quitting cold turkey most of the times I "quit" and started back.

Once I made my mind up to keep vaping and lose the cigs, it was easy. I just started vaping a little along with my after dinner cig and comparing. The ecig won out on taste. Cigs had started tasting really bad once my taste buds started to recover a bit. Even if you are still smoking, the ecig is a hands down choice for most. After a point, I lost the desire for an ecig juice that tasted like my old stinky cigarettes.

Welcome moran5. I think it's pretty normal to start inexpensively to see if this works. I know for myself, having tried gum, patches, Wellbutrin and the dreaded Chantix , I was convinced that I would die a smoker. I have family ,knowing I'm very well versed in the vaping scene , buy mall kiosk and gas station ecigs and proclaim that "it didn't work for me". (WTH?) $70-$80 seems like a lot of money for something we think Probably won't be any more effective than the other things we tried.

There is a lot of stuff to try and you could go broke trying it. LOL. If what you have is keeping you off cigarettes, I suggest sticking with it a few months at least. Order sample packs of juice from different vendors and find your faves. That is really the biggest challenge.

After living with your current setup awhile, consider what improvements you really desire. Some are satisfied with cig-a-likes and have no issue having a collection of smaller batteries charged because the form factor of a cig is most important. Others move on to replaceable battery mods for increased battery life. Still others want increased battery life and a regulated power supply so the last hit is the same as the first and or variable voltage and/or variable wattage.

Until you have spent some time with what you have , you really won't be able to make smart buying decisions. I went from an ego-type 650 mAh (milli-amp-hours) non-regulated setup with low resistance atomizers , to a Maxi Roughstack V2 (non regulated) with replaceable 18650 3000 mAh batteries to a Provari V2 regulated, variable voltage with replaceable 18490 IMR batteries and using rebuildable atomizers,Vivi Novas and Boge cartomizers.

There are still things I'd like to try,but I know now what I need and what I like.

I guess my point is, no need to rush. Ask questions, participate on the forums, learn all you can and have fun. For myself and many others ,vaping is much more than a means to an end. It really has become a fun and interesting hobby that IMO , just so happens to be healthier th

Many of the menthols taste like mothballs to me. Madvapes Minthol (with an I). It's more of a clear mint flavor that resembles a Lifesavers Cryst-O-Mint taste. The key to menthol juices is to use it sparingly as an additive to your favorite tobacco flavored juice instead of vaping it by itself. That allows you to create and undertone of menthol in the tobacco like a menthol cigarette flavor.

Judging the amount to add is probably best accomplished by using a drip tip and mixing small quantities. Keep track of how much you added to a milliliter of tobacco flavored juice for future reference.
