So I'm pretty sick and tired of all the false accusations of electronic cigarettes or PV's and it's time we all started something. This is not only for people in new jersey.
All of the reasons they are slowly banning PV's are crazy. Propylene glycol is in smoke machines they shoot in little kids faces at Disneyland and what they send firefighters through training in? Are kids and firefighters not important but the people who actually choose to use PV's because WE WANT TO aren't allowed. There is so much research out there on vaping and I want more! This site alone has so many people on it and we all help eachother out. There has to be doctors on here that vape and can perform tests. They say they don't know the long term effects, well do what they do with anything else to see long term effects. Test it on rats! Rats exposed to cancerous material grow tumors at an impeccable rate so test, it show the facts! They also talk about triglycerides which are in tons of food. They talk about second hand smoke which does not occur with vapor. They have it ingrained in their head that nicotine is cancerous yet it is no more harmful then caffeine. Are they shutting down dunkin donuts around the world? NO. They say it's a environmental hazard. How? batteries can be recycled properly, liquid can be recycled properly. Computer and most electronics for that matter are super hazardous for the environment (my dad is a electronics recycler) and yet so many people have no clue and throw their old junk in the trash when it NEEDS to be recycled. Ohhhh but it's ok to have cigarette butts everyyyyyywhereeee which take years and years to decompose (not sure if they even do) let alone tons of household and forest fires that have been brought on by cigarettes. Please I know there are more facts that are out there and more facts that can be discovered. We all need to work as a team. With so many people in this ecf community there has to be newspaper writers, doctors, lawyers, people involved in politics, chemists, and everyday people. We can do this! Let's stop talking about it and make a change. We need to keep adding facts and discussing our next actions.

I don't see any health hazards on artificial sweetener and that has been linked many times to cause cancer yet they are still on the shelves at every food store. People are trying to be healthier and they're just killing themselves. Nicolette gum is just as appealing to kids as eliquid is. They have fruity flavors and all. Sold at local pharmacies allll over and behind the register rights in the eyes of everyone checking out. Don't see them mentioning anything about that... It's all pathetic. We need to do something. It's possible with proper research we can make a difference and save lives people.

We need to do something.
We are way ahead of you.
:)

What we really need are more passionate people like you who are ready and willing to do something.
Because there is as LOT that needs doing, and a lot of people already doing their best.

You've made a lot of good points, and it would take quite some time to address them all in detail.
But if anyone has any specific questions on who is against us, and what they can do to help, please ask!

And here is a little history of CASAA that I wrote up for a contest awhile back...

CASAA is a non-profit organization formed by (and made up of) members of this forum, and the FDA vs Smoking Everywhere case a few years ago was essentially where it all began. Frustrated and feeling powerless to do anything while the fate of electronic cigarettes was being decided before our eyes, we decided to fight back...

A nomination process was begun, and a list of those with the most nominations was created. Those nominees that were willing to participate then posted their argument for why they would make a good CASAA board member, and an election was held right here on the forum. And from this effort CASAA was born. We the People stepped up and, represented by CASAA, joined other groups in filing our own amicus brief with the court. And that was only the beginning of the work that CASAA continues to do, by us as vapers and for us as vapers.

And because I really, really hope everyone reading this will support CASAA in their efforts, here are some links...

I joined casaa today :) I just don't see why we can't go to supreme court and do this lol I know easier said then done but if they can ban stuff so easily why can't we fight it or reverse bans as easily. The proof is in the pudding and they're not getting it. It also disappoints me that I cannot find anyone in jersey that is down. I don't see any groups for jersey and we were the first to ban it in the USA (indoor use) and to top it off a bill is in progress that you can't vape while driving!!!! Whattt????
STOP THIS NONSENSE NOWWWW

It's not that they are not getting it, it's that they don't give a crap about the truth.
Because the truth will cause them all to lose their jobs.

The people fighting against e-cigs are the "non-profit" health organizations that get PAID BIG TIME by their masters.
And their masters are Big Pharma, and more specifically, the Robert Woods Johnson Foundation.

But I will have to disagree that they can ban stuff so easily.

There are many bans attempted throughout the country almost on a weekly basis.
And CASAA, with the help of those vapers willing to help, is fighting and winning at about an 85% clip.

We can, have, and will continue to make a difference, using truth as our weapon.
But we can always use more help, always.

The thing is, you live in New Jersey, which as you said was one of the first, if not the first to institute a vaping ban.
And that happened a long time ago, before CASAA had become a force to be reckoned with.

I'm sorry that as a vaper you live in New Jersey.
And I'm sorry that you guys fell so early on in this fight.
:(

Maybe some day, when we as vapers are strong enough, and have won enough battles...
We can revisit New Jersey in force, with precedents from around the country on our side this time.

Well I want to help as much as possible. I'm a firm believer in ecigs and love them. I just wish like you said jersey didn't fall so early :/ I wish we can appeal it. I don't see anyone from jersey on casaa though or any protests going on. They're already trying to ban vaping while driving. HELP!!!

CASAA and other vaping groups tried to reason with New Jersey legislators, but they wouldn't listen. At this point, it would probably take irrefutable, scientific proof that e-cigarettes are not a danger to bystanders to get them to remove them from the definition of smoking.

Actually, two of CASAA's Directors (Drew Gliem and Greg Conley) live in New Jersey and have been very active advocating for e-cigarettes and opposing the bans.

Honestly, if more people in New Jersey had been like you and stepped up back when the ban proposal first took place, it may have been defeated. Now we basically have to get it reversed and that is a lot harder. We'd have to get a legislator on our side to propose a new bill or amendment to remove e-cigarettes from the smoking ban.
