Interesting, I looked at the Heavens Gift page, for the CL model, listed as 30 watts. Basically, in the text they tell you to press the button 30 times when off to make it 30 watts, same as the hack listed earlier in this thread. So if you don't want or need a "CL" model, you can get the regular OLED model, and get the same wattage, and a lot cheaper.

Also as noted above, perhaps not official yet, but if the CL base does not accept the newest CLR attys, I don't see the point, unless you have or like the CL atties a lot. For me, I found the non CL attys not great, and way overpriced, and the rba base an on and off leaker no mater how I've wicked it. I would have given it another chance if I could try a CLR atty but it doesn't look like that is going to be an option, we will see.

Sad, sad day (or should say last nite) My eGrip died. Had to wait until 12 noon today.
I tried 3 different cords, and 2 outlets....just keeps blinking the 40 times. Tried to wiggle the cord, tried the stock coil/holder....NOTHING WORKED.
Checked out the FAQ page on joyetech's page....seems the battery is done.

BUT, I went to 3 different local B&M's....couldn't find what I wanted and ended up getting a KangerTech SubBoxMini....only had white :grr:, but a wrap will fix that :thumb:
This thing is my new (only) go-to now.

How many months your egrip live?mine is from february...and work still fine-knock on the wood

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Nov 2014....and I vape pretty heavy to some o_O and was charging everyday....and sometimes on way home from work I'd have to plug it in as the battery wasn't lasting 8-9hrs in the last few months.
7-8months I was told wasn't bad. But I told the guy I wasn't doing this again every 6-8 months and bought the KBox mainly due to replaceable battery and size.

I own two v1 eGrips, a silver and a wooden one. My silver one had problems from the start, it would do the blinking thing and not work for NO apparent reason every now and then, but usually in a few days or some messing around, it'd start working again. I bought the wooden one when I thought my silver one wasn't coming back to life, and as soon as I got the wood one, the silver one started working again. But for some reason, my wood one will not fit the Eleaf GS air heads like my silver one would and they both leaked a lot. Still, when my silver one was functioning properly, it was a great device and I particularly enjoyed the mouth to lung hits on it and its portability.

Well, this past weekend, I got drunk at a bar and accidently left my eGrip there (my wood one is sitting at home since I only have GS Air coils for it atm and the RBA base which i don't feel like messing with), and I'm thinking of getting one of the newer OLED versions. I'd love to be able to use the Ego One heads as I have a some of those and I've been wanting to try the CLR heads too, but as I can see from posts here it is not supposed to be able to work? I just watched this Youtube video which states otherwise, but if anyone could confirm it'd be great. I just like form factor and ease of filling a lot but my main gripes were the issues with the coil heads fitting, leaks, and the occasional malfunction, but I like this device enough to give it another go.

But here's the video where it states it works with CLR heads.

Well the photography is "pro" lighting, and the poster does say he/she is using the CLR, BUT I would be more convinced if it were a video showing it NOT a slideshow. Surprised no one here has tried it. Right now I'm using my new Reo Mini 14500, and put my two Egrips to the side, but when this is confirmed or not, I would try it again.

Hy guys, it was me who started this and I did the same thing as you Kyi. I showed the video to the person that originally said they will not work and asked him if the reviewer is wrong and he changed his statement, saying now that they are compatible. Sorry for the confusion. I was surprised myself too of his original answer because I couldn't see how these wouldn't work when both the CL and CLR are roughly the same dimensions, right? If they weren't, they wouldn't work in the Ego One so the same has to be true for this egrip CL base

I'm surprised someone from Joyetech wouldn't be more informed and telling people that the CLR does not fit when it might/maybe fit? It seems to me that it should fit, assuming the only difference with the CL and CLR heads is being able to more easily rebuild it and should be the same dimensions. But yes, would be nice if someone can confirm! Also, I am a bit confused with the 2 different versions of the Egrip OLED.

The CS version with the "CS" base, which can fit the CS head (Eleaf GS Airs as well), CL heads, and the RBA base.

The CL version which includes the "CL" base, which can fit the CL head, CS head, and RBA base. Even though they both have a different base, they appear to be able to use all the same coil heads, so my question is, what IS the difference? Is there an actual physical difference within the two bases and why is there 2 versions if they fit the same coil heads?

Ok, on closer inspection, I know the CL version is 'newer' and comes with what they specifically refer to as the CL base as opposed to the regular atomizer base, as well as 2 Ego One CL heads and silicon caps and seal rings. The CS version is like the regular v1 Egrip, except it has the OLED screen and it comes with all the regular stuff from the v1 and the Joyetech CS heads.

Now, do any vendors actually carry the CL version or is this a coming soon product? And secondly, if both bases can fit both, then the ONLY difference is the atomizer heads and additional seals and silicone caps that come with the CL version?

The original eGrip coils are threaded M7x0.5 and the eGo-ONE CL (and CLR) coils are threaded M8x0.5, which is why you need the different base. But without being able to purchase a base (yet) that fits eGo-ONE coils, I couldn't say whether the CLR coils work or not (they obviously fit if the CL coils fit) but the air and or fluid flows may be different (but I doubt it).

Has anyone ever bought from this vendor, 3FVape? I saw the Egrip CL on their new arrivals page while searching around, price is right and free shipping. From what I can find, they ship from China and their prices are comparable to Fasttech but apparently their shipping is a lot faster. I'm quite tempted to order from here. That cherry red is calling my name.

Well unfortunately my black eGrip has vaped it's last. I've never suffered the wonky issues with either of my eGrips but I did knock my black one to the floor several times while charging. Knocked the usb connector loose and had to fiddle with it every time I charged for a week or so. Connecter finally broke off inside. Shame is that the black one was my ADV. I use my woodie for my first vape of the morning with the nasty tobacco flavor and 24 ml nic that satisfies my brains call for a cig the moment my eyes open. Then I was switching to my blackie for ADV with 18ml fruity flavors and evening vaping on my Aspire ET clearo with 3ml juice.

I hope that I can repair Blackie when I find a small enuf torx to open him up but until then I'm trying to find another setup that will match the performance of the eGrips that I'm so fond of. I think I'm very close already. In the interest of staying with interchangeable coils I had ordered a GS Air Tank that arrived the day before Blackie passed on. I've got the GS Air tank mounted on Vision Spinner II running about 4 volts and it's close to a match but not quite there. I've ordered an eLeaf iStick 20W to go with the GS tank and hoping that will get me there.

I have to agree, the eGrip has a really good mouth to lung hit that I can't seem to get from most of my other setups. Well, I love my Kayfuns and all but yea, there is just something smooth and satisfying about a good hit from the eGrip. Since I just ordered a cherry red CL version, this would be my third one. After my first one started going wonky, I liked the device so much that I got a second one. Once the second one wasn't really doing what I wanted it to do, my first one started working again and I just kept on using it. I doubt I'd get a fourth one if this new one screws up somehow... hopefully it doesn't have to go that route.

I've recommended the eGrip to a few friends and they all love theirs. It seems to be the device that appeals to them more than any of other setups, probably because it's just a nice, small, sleek mod with a great form factor and all in 1. My order from 3FVape shipped the day I ordered and is currently en route to the US, so I have high hopes that the shipping will be much faster than Fasttech for something thats shipping from China.

I've also read in multiple random threads around the internet that the CLR heads DO work on the CL base. Can't wait to get mine!
