@Kyi, so what you are saying is our original bases that came with our eGrips we can use the CL coils? But we still need the top o-ring cap?

Well, I just tried fitting a CL coil onto the base of one of my original v1 (non-OLED) Egrips and it does NOT fit. So unless the OLED version comes with a different base than the original, then I don't know. Or unless the Joyetech site is wrong (which it very well could be), they make it appear that both CS and CL OLED versions can use CL coils. In that case, there is no difference between the two OLED models other than the coils it comes with and they both have CL/R compatible bases. OR, they started selling the CS versions with the CL base, which would be smart because thats more Joyetech coils people can buy.

OR, they are both completely wrong and the CS version still uses the CS base (original v1) and they MEANT to say that the OLED CS version is COMPATIBLE with the CL coils IF you use the CL base (which they do not say on the site). Maybe someone could ask Joyetech to clarify. But yea.. the CL coil does not fit on the original base that comes with the non-oled Egrip. If someone has a CS version of the OLED, then maybe you can find out if your base is like the original v1 or if it can fit CL coils, in which case would make it a CL base.

But for the record, the bottom of my base says "eGrip CL". I think what Joyetech meant to do was to only have 1 version of the Egrip OLED but released the CS version first before they decided they wanted it to be compatible with the CL coils. THEN, they started selling the kits with the CL base but for some reason, they are marketed as two different types of Egrips. To make things less confusing, they could simply have an option to order the Egrip OLED (none of this CS or CL crap), and let you choose whether or not you want the CS or CL coils. The CL base should be included if it is compatible with all other coil types since the CS can't use the CLR, and they could even include 1 of each coil so the user can decide for themselves which one they prefer.

Yea the question now is whether or not the Egrip CS actually comes with a CS or CL base. Well, I guess it doesn't really matter if no one's really trying to buy a new Egrip. Still, I don't see the CL bases available anywhere. I only assumed for a moment the CL coil could fit because of Joyetech's description on their site. Honestly, they ought to just do away with the CS version of the Egrip, there's really no reason to have both versions when the CL is just has compatibility with 1 additional coil. I'm thinking of giving the RBA base another go.. but I really don't want to deal with leaks again.

After 8 months, I have finally switched back to the standard coils and packed away my RBA base. Wasted so many MLs of liquid as I watched it pour out the bottom, pool on my desk, fill my cup holder in my car, and leave embarrassing stains on the front of my pants.

I hear ya on the leaks, but I love the RBA. I just got the CL base and I tried the CLR coils in it. The taste is great and you can still build or change cotton and so far no leaks. There is no hole in the bottom of the base so back to the stock airflow but I have to say it's not that bad of an airflow. If you liked the RBA you will like the CLR coils too! I don't think i could ever go back to stock coils. Although I didn't try the standard CL coil yet.

Don't! They are not much better than the standard eGrip coils. In my opinion, the CLR coils work because the wick is directly in contact with the fluid, both the stock CS and the CL coils have their wicks enclosed behind a membrane which restricts flow.

Maybe I've been out of the grip loop for awhile. Could you point me to CLR coils/base?

I don't know of a supplier in the USA (I'm aussie), but this is where I bought mine from: eGrip OLED CL Base - Vape Street Australia I don't know the postage rate to America, or even if that seller posts overseas. That price is in AUD, so in USD about $4.50. The CLR coils should be available in the USA, they are just the rebuildable coils from an eGo-ONE.

I have also seen the bases available from Greece, but for me the postage rate was a no-go (but still half the price of getting something sent from the USA to Oz ... I once went to buy something from an American web-site ... cost $1.50 for the part ... postage $39.50  I didn't buy it!).

If not for the rba I'd likely shelve my eGrips. It's been some time but I'm fine tuning my re-wicks and the sporadic leaks are quite manageable. I use the rubbery sleeves on mine and any minor leaks seem to accumulate between the sleeve and the eGrip body. I carry them in my pants pockets every day. If they weren't so noisy for stealth vaping (office cubicle environment) I'd vape them all day long. As it is an iStick 30 watt with a Nautilus covers the stealth vaping part of my day.

I took my coils apart for egrip, it's the older model and had 2 coils inside , wouldn't work. Cant find video how to rebuild. Looks tricky. Probably have to buy new bottom.
I posted the videos here. Note that these are GS Air coils which are almost identical to the eGrip coils. I wouldn't try rebuilding with 2 coils, all the ones I've done I've made them a single coil. I also replaced the outer wicking material with coffee filter paper cut 1" x 1/4", wet with eliquid and then placed inside the top cap.

I rewick/coil my GS Air coils exactly like the video. Use single coil 30g 6 wrap on one of the small jeweler screwdriver that fits perfectly inside the slots. Gives me around 1.8. Rewick with rayon, cut to edge but I use a thin - thin enough to see through - sheet of KGD - peel the outer layer - I also juice the wick to help hold the KGD in place.
Hope this helps!
