There is speculation from the Vapin' Greek's review which leads me to believe the istick and eGrip share the same electronics. I hope this is not the case since the istick has been scoped by PBusardo, and found to be quite inaccurate.

didn't know this, thanks.

I suggest that you follow Dr Konstantinos Farsalinos vaping temperature study.. I have a feeling it's going to be eye-opening for many who enjoy high-wattage vaping.. Most of us switched from tobacco to vaping for harm-reduction. Depending upon the results of the study, many may be shelving their devices which are not temperature controlled. I know I will. ;)

feel similarly. Hot vape hitting throat and esophagus cells, can't possibly be good......high heat doesn't seem very healthy just using common sense what we know about cumulative effects of many human behaviors.

Maybe egrip isn't for me.......I have ego twists i have never turned up in weeks...I mean, 4.0 volts using a LR atty is about all I need. egrip may be overkill for somebody like me. :)

I've been using an egrip for a week. Last night the vapor turned harsh. Replacing the coil fixed that. In a few days I'll have been vaping only for a month but I really like this device for ease of carry. I spend most of my time away from home. My other device is a nautilus mini. May be the taste is better from the nautilus, For me the difference, if there is one, is too small to make the bigger device worth carrying most of the time. One coil a week, if that's what turns out to be normal doesn't concern me.

Do e-liquids vary in their propensity to stick to coils? Which ones do less of that?

In here to give my thanks to all those who contributed to this thread. I read every post from page 1 & placed my order for a black egrip & 2 (5pk) coils.
I'm currently suffering from "I want something new syndrome" & had originally jumped on the VS rDNA 40 pre-order bandwagon. With already 2 delays & reasons I find suspect, I canceled that order.

Having already seen every video review available for the egrip I figured it's only $70 & can't get any simpler than coil, fill 'n go!
Sometimes getting back to basics is what's needed instead of chasing the next high end cloud machine.

The egrips all-in-1 design can't get any more basic than that & I look forward to getting mine.
Ordered my egrip from Cignot- read a lot of good things about them & the coils from eBay (thanks to whomever posted the link).

What battery do you have your Nauty Mini on?

I've been looking at the eGrip...but it's hard for me to imagine that it's smaller than my Nauty Mini on my iStick!!??!!

That is the perfect combination... ( Nautilus Mini/Istick). Much better flavor then the egrip IMO......especially with the dvc, dual vertical coils. The regular Aspire Nautilus and the mini, both look great on the Istick also. The DVC work on both the full size and the Mini. The egrip is a fantastic device, but, the flavor is a tad better on the Istick. I'm sure both have their uses :)

I received mine yesterday. I am very surprised at how much vapour I was getting with little 2 sec draws.

One thing I noticed was at about half a tank full, if I tilted the device (tank side up) I was getting gurgles. The gurgling stopped when I flipped the device tank side down or had it up right. Also having a bit of an issue with holding it comfortably without covering the air intake on the bottom with my supporting little finger.

Random thought.... I noticed in the Vaping Shozza's review that the wattage adjustment / indicator dial has no numerals other than 20, like the others previously posted about here. If the eGrip and iStick do indeed share the same electronics, and the eGrip is using a Mean Average waveform like the iStick instead of the more accurate RMS (Root Mean Square) (see PBusardo's iStick review) it would make sense to eliminate all wattage settings except for the device's maximum of 20 since the other settings would be overpowered, and inaccurate. It's a set to taste kind of thing, up to 20 watts. ;)

Then again, it could have been just cost-cutting on the dial engraving..

I am still very happy with the eGrip. I've taken it on a few road-trips so far as well as daily errands, and have not had a bit of trouble. :) I did start using one of my beck series drip tips (STR15) made "By Leo", and the flavor has actually improved :)

I have both the istick and egrip and I am not sure they are the same electronics. The egrip seems to be accurate to the dial settings where the istick ran hot. There is no pulsing of the power in the egrip. I vape menthols so they burn quite quickly if you power up and on the istick it was a noticeably high pulse.

I do not have the iStick, but as I posted before, I also find the eGrip's wattage settings to "feel" close to the same settings on other known accurate devices I own / owned.. (Evolv DNA / SX350) I'm only going by the Vaping Greek's comments in his review where he makes it sound like the electronics are the same, and he does have a relationship with Joyetech.. I also do not experience the "rattlesnake" PWM signal in the eGrip... Until someone finds a way to scope the device, who knows for certain..

Agree. I am just going by feel and leave the testing to the people who know what they are doing. :)
I stopped using the istick because it burnt my menthols so it was great to just fill and vape the egrip without drama. Its a very elegant little device. That's the girl in me speaking.

Joyetech has a knack for elegant.

With the iStick you are still going to have an atty/clearo sticking up on top.....I don't like that. Stuff gets broken in my purse and pocket
