It's a few pages back in this thread. And I don't have a good functioning camera ATM, but I think the most consistent mod, was stripping the poly fill out of a new carto, and using it to replace fabric/filler on the inside of the coil head housing.

So here's a Q: what could possibly explain the efficiency with which this rba delivers nicotine? /i am definitely vaping less, and have plenty of zero nic liquid laying aroiund if I need to dilute, but man, its bonkers.
Great question... Wondering the same thing.
I started taking shorter pulls to help ease up the nic intake but I also think I am adjusting to it. I am not chain vaping like I normally do but I have been using mine for a few hours noe. I no longer feel the buzz from the nic and I am not queezy... True test will be if I am able to sleep tonight, lol. If it does prove to deliver too much nic maybe my aspire heads will help until I get lower nic ejuice!
This lil mod may be the key to helping my fiance kick stinkies again... the extra nic in the beginning really helped me... I am hopeful! I really like this egrip. But I'd give it up and wait on another one to get him vaping again...
My question: are you guys going through more juice now with the rba.

I'm inclined to believe that the RBA hits better and goes through more liquid because compared to traditional disposable coil heads, rebuildable coils are usually larger and have more surface area as well as more wicking material than the coil heads... more juice, more heating area covered, more dense vapor. Plus it seems to be a more of a 'free-base' type of vaping (sorry to use that as an analogy)... its just more direct as opposed to having the liquid feed slowly into a coil head. I use a Kayfun mini on my iStick and the size of the mini's base seems pretty similar to the eGrip one, and the mini hits great! Can't wait to try out my RBA base. I really hope the draw isn't too airy though, I have the airflow control on my device set to a somewhat tighter draw instead of open all the way and someone did mention that the airflow control doesn't work with the RBA base.

I received an rba in the vapemail today - yep they've even arrived in Oz! It looks like a lovely piece of engineering, and not too small to rebuild, should be fine. The air hole is huge, and there's enough room for a big coil. The little blue screwdriver is 5/64" dia so will probably use that first for future builds, although the stock coil looks bigger diameter than that. I measured the stock wire that comes with the coil at 0.3mm which makes it between 28 and 29 gauge.

Vapes really nice, heaps of flavor, I can see some people might want to dilute their flavor and nic, depending on what gear they are used to using. It sure performs well. I'm still at the lowest wattage setting and happy with that. I put some tape over the hole in the rba base and poked a small hole in it to tame the airy draw. At first it tasted a bit funky so I took it out to give it a wash and wick it with rayon. Its vaping like a champ now, the flavor is excellent, it really is. I'm glad I got this, and that it works so well. Its got to be the best performing stealthiest device with good tank and battery capacity available so far IMO. The only other device in this class is a REO Mini 2.1 as far as I know (of which I have a couple).

To me the draw is super airy, but I usually only vape at less than 10W so don't need much air. No its not adjustable. As I mentioned above I put some tape over mine and poked a small hole in it. I will come up with something more permanent soon, a rubber/silicon/wood plug with a small hole, a toothpick split in two, some putty, a piece of rolled up paper, the list is endless.

10 wraps of 30 gauge wire should get it fairly close to the 2 ohm range right?

Yep, 9 turns of 30 gauge on the little blue screwdriver that came with the rba gave me 2.2 ohms. Its easy to check with a multimeter, just put a probe on each post screw. Also the base itself is easy to build on, it sits flat on a table and has enough size and weight to be stable enough.

I'm not really sure how big of a difference it makes to not be able to heat up and squeeze the coils together for a tighter microcoil.. maybe someone else can weigh in on that. I do remember some people saying that a little bit of space between the coils wicks better than a really tight micro coil but I always made my coils by squeezing them together after heating it up. I saw the adapter available on some German site but I'm just gonna wait till I can buy from a US vendor.

Since there's no easy way to dry burn, I wound a closely spaced coil. They work similar IMO and last longer before gunking up.

The eGrip also hits very hard for me even on the lowest wattage setting, so I am thinking of upping the VG percentage in my future juice orders.

Another alternative is to just buy some plain VG with your next juice order and dilute your juice with that, say 2 or 3 parts juice to one part VG (or PG/VG mixture). This will also lower the nic content, and your original juice can still be used in your other devices. This rba seems to be efficient with its tiny chamber so lowering the nic content along with the flavor strength should work well.

I'll admit, I was stumped about burning my coils when I started rebuilding the Kangers and Aspires. What I've found works REALLY well is a small alcohol burner, and a couple pair of pliers. Cheap, and can be done before inserting the coil. SHOULD work for coils on the RBA, too

How do you do that process? Thanks!

I was able to get the adapter and one each of the skins at vapenw just now

Wow, guess that just got added to the site today. I placed an order with them yesterday for an egrip and the rba base. I just sent them an email to see if I can get it added to my order. Thanks for the heads up.

Yes, just put in Egrip in the search and it will show up. I actually just got my ship notification for the adapter and skins.

I also foresee the skins wearing loose, much like the otterbox on my phone, but at 4 bucks a pop and having a pink Egrip....worth it :)

I'm picking up a pink skin and the adapter as well. Not thrilled about the flat rate shipping cost ($6!!) but oh well. There are some really cool wraps on ebay for fairly cheap, around $7.50 each. Not sure if I want to wrap it though... I like the smooth metallic finish on my silver Egrip but I do worry about it scratching. Luckily I haven't dropped it as many times as my iStick..

I like the colorful vapor one on the right.

This steampunk/gears skin also looks really cool.

Hmm... to wrap or not to wrap.. and if I wrap, then it would be pointless to get the skin.

The charging Port started to detach and my charging was wonky. If I didn't have the cord turned just a certain way it would not charge. I took it back to the merchant and they exchanged it with no problem. And then my RBA came today but it will not screw in all the way so I can't use it. I noticed that my old eGrip Atomizer cover would not screw in all the way in this new eGrip either. I'm thinking that the new one has a defective bottom atty cover or the new eGrip and old are a little different. My old one had numbers on the dial while the new one only has enlarging dots. Anyone else experienced this?
