How do you guys clean your coils?? Never done it before

I was reading somewhere using the rba to 510 adapter , pulse fire, when red hot let go of fire button, and put coil under running tap water. Do this a few times.

Can i use the adapter on a standard Ego battery when doing this? Will the coils get hot enough?

Can someone confirm if i can use

$3.08 Pre-Coiled Wires for Rebuildable Atomizers (50-Pack) 50-pack - 1.5ohm / 0.3mm dia. / 30*30mm leads at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Pre coiled wires for the rba? I think 1.2 ohm and higher is recommended. But would the 1.0, 1.1 versions of these coils be ok? (They dont have a 1.2 ohm version of these pre coiled wires)

Thanks

Those are exactly the ones I got and they work great. Very easy to install using a drillbit to arrange.

Sorry i'm new to this. Why do you need to use a drillbit to arrange? Also i do notice that the pre coiled wires sold by Joyetech have shorter legs and are bent a certain way. I'm guessing i would have to modify FT version to have it this way

Me I kinda like the device. I'm a techie. So I think I might become real familiar with it. But tell me, can you chain 20 pulls on it with your NET cig?

I'll grant you this though…perfect sexy aircraft stealth vaping device for James Bond!

This'll be fun.

:)

Mac, I think this device is going to amaze you in it's versatility in wicking configurations, vapor and flavor output. The RBA wicking can be configured as an RTA (free flow juice openings) , as a carto (cotton stuffed juice openings) or a hybridization of the two. Juice transfer to the coil is moderately superior to the kanger configurations we are accustomed to evrn when set up as a carto with kgd cotton. Far superior when set up with open juice holes; no dry hits at 20w. Vapor and flavor with this little dynamo are excellent at 14-20w.

NET's? No different than any other device; more frequent wick changing is the norm there. No probs with emptying the tank between wick changes though.

20 pulls? Yeah I suspect I could but I'd probably puke before I got there w/ 6nic levels at 20w; nic delivery is excellent. Extended vaping sessions at elevated power levels on any small device will overheat the atty chamber but flooding is not as bad here because the excess juice drains back into the juice well and gets recycled like most rtas.

Get you one Mac, fun little device. Can't wait for the battery to croak so I can replace it with an 18650 (3100 mah). It looks like Joyetech has already left room for an 18650 by simply removing one casting webbing from their tooling. The same webbing used for the "secret" top cover screw.

You don't have to replicate the Joyetech coils. The longer legs are actually an advantage, letting you easily thread the wires into the holes. Using the drill bit, you keep the coil in its desired position, while pulling the protruding longer legs with tweezers so the coil sits perfectly. When done, you simply twist off the legs.

Will the egrip with rba base, leak if stood upright for more than 24 hours without vaping??

Never had any RTAs leak while standing upright unless I just filled it (without vaping it afterwards) or just opened the tank (without vaping it afterwards) regardless of juice level. Important thing to remember is to vape it after filling or opening the tank so that a vacuum can develop above the juice in the tank; that vacuum is what holds the juice in the tank.

Dont most rta have like a safety cup under the coil area though?

But the egrip with rba base has no "safety net" underneath.

I will take your advice and take a couple of drags after filling the eliquid. I got a egrip for my wife and if eliquid drips in her bag, i know she wont be too happy.

The only time I had leaks was when I was first using the stock cotton coils. Since I switched to rayon I've had no leaks since. I've been going over two weeks on the Rayon and haven't even opened it up again. Granted, I keep looking at it and thinking 'wonder what the coil looks like?' Either that it will stop vaping or I'll give in out of curiosity.

One thing I do is to put it on its top when I'm charging. I fill it only when I'm getting ready to use it. Never had a problem under normal circumstances while I was out about-- except that time I lost the tank seal as a filled it and I didn't really realize it until I was halfway down the road with a handful of juice.[emoji4]

Some RTAs have bases underneath that will catch some fluid (Lemo for example) and some do not. To know for sure whether or not the vacuum has been reestablished after filling the tank look for bubbles rising through the juice in the tank after each hit. Once you see a bubble rise you're good to go. That said, once you lay the device on its side it could leak. Wouldn't trust any RTA in my wife's bag unless it was held mostly upright in a pocket or compartment.

To minimize the chance of leaking with this rba you can make sure that the wicking is visible through all four juice holes in the rba, i.e. cotton packed up against the holes.

Have you tried with Japanese cotton? Yeah the organic cotton that comes with the pre coiled wire is prob not strong enough to hold the liquid for a long period of time

Not sure what all this talk about leaks is, but neither of my three eGrips leak with standard or RBA base and mine are sitting upright all the time (except when charging). This is also completely independent of the filling level of the tank. Very strange that some of you run into this problem.
What kind of material for wicking are you using?

It seems like if you use too little material etc . or use cotton balls (weaker structure) there is more chance of leaking. Something like japanese cotton though is thicker, stronger and might be better at absorbing and preventing even dropplets of eliquid to leak from the rba base

Don't think most are leaking. Discussion has been mostly about preventive measures. Mine doesn't leak. Glad yours don't either. Hate for this to turn into a "Billow RTA" thread; talk about leaking probs! Lol

I have gone through this thread and some ppl have been reporting leaks. Or dropplets coming out of the rba base. Not sure if its too little cotton used. Overvaping without replacing the cotton. Using too thin eliquid . not properly filling the eliquid from the bottom Or manually the airholes were enlarged

I wish I couldn't taste cc rayon. It won't leave me buds alone. I recommend everyone try it though. If you can't taste it it's the best thing to hit the vaping community since cotton. Transports juice wicked fast. Pun intended.
