Does anyone's RBA sound like an exhaust backfiring? Mine is always popping and squirting juice out when it's fired up
Wait, what exactly did you do to it to render it unusable?

I've pretty much covered my entire device with water before. I think as long as you don't get liquid around the button area and especially the charge port, it should be fine. I actually made that mistake in the beginning but it eventually dried out and started working again. I also closed off every hole and blew into the device, kinda making the air come out of the charge port, trying to blow out any excess water. Not sure if it helped much with it coming back to life but it did after a day. I put clear tape over my charge port when I rinse out my tank which I do fairly often. Ever since I avoided water in the port, my device hasn't turned off on me.
However.. it has been rather finicky in other ways. I am not sure if me getting water in it contributes to this but maybe.
I say try to blow it out and try again in a few days if you aren't getting it replaced.
It was after I shook some rubbing alcohol around in it with the base removed that it ceased to operate.
I tried to clean the taste of an old flavor out of it with alcohol....without the base installed, and that apparently allows the electronics to be exposed to liquid.
Don't do that.![]()
Cignot is where I ordered my first 510 kit almost 5 years ago. They have always done me right and I order from them whenever they stock the product I'm looking for. In my mind there is no more reputable vendor.
Loud popping when you hit the fire button? Bad coil symmetry. Your coil is deformed causing irregular wick compression against the inside of the coil. Four fixes: rewick heavier (more cotton), straighten the coil by firing it then pinching it together with tweezers, replace the coil or gently pry the coil turns apart converting it into a spaced coil. It is Very important to keep coil symmetry when setting contact microcoils. Any deviation from turn to turn, whether it be diameter, straightness or separation, can cause popping, hotspots and a host of other problems.
Sorry all, I'm trying to look through this very long thread to find the answer but missing it. I saw a mention of an updated version of the Egrip. Was considering buying one from vapenw but don't know what the issues were or if they were remedied. Also was hoping they'd be selling their premade coils but so far no luck.
I was torn between this and Atlantis with ipv mini....unfortunately I didn't know about the RBA and got the Atlantis setup, with which I'm not very happy. Love the size and when I hit it I was surprised.
Appreciate pointers, I planned on the unit, skin, RBA, and 510 to check resistance.
Well chalk up another Egrip failure to bad a USB port. I knew the port was sensitive to mishandling from the first reports on this thread so I've been extra careful with how I plug in the charge cable. It has gotten to the point now where I have to move the cable to a particular position or it won't charge. Guess I got one of the first release units after all. So that's the bad news, good news is I purchased the unit from Cignot so I have nothing to worry about!

I have the same problem with having to move the cable to a particular position to get it to work. The problem, however, is NOT the usb port, the problem is in the cable. I just so happen to have several usb cables lying around. Only with one particular cable did I have problems with. I do not know if you have other cables, but try that and you might be surprised.
Got mine a few hours ago and I've gotta say, so far, with the rba it's the best device I have used to date. I'm getting a better, smoother vape then with a rdna 30 topped with kayfun/erlkonigin. It really is Stella.
It feels very well built, it's compact, looks very classy (pictures don't do it justice). The vape quality is excellent, very airy draw, clean crisp flavour and thick dense vapour. I don't usually direct lung inhale, but it doesn't seem like you can vape any other way with the rba base. But it's ok, I like it.
Gonna give it a few weeks, if I don't come across any issues, I'm gonna sell all my other gear and buy more of these. It really is that great. Game changer in my opinion. Especially regarding the price.
Awesome, glad others are find it as rewarding as me. The rba is tiiiiny but doable. I agree that the pics don't do it justice. I am def getting a second egrip but will wait for the larger mah battery option to come out. I feel it will not be long.
