So how did you get out of your first one JJ?

First one I bought in October when they came out. Worked beautifully for about 4 weeks, then just quit firing. Vendor took care of it, and replaced it. So far this one is working great. It's just you see alot of issues with these on the threads here. I love the Egrip, but just hoping all the bugs are worked out on revision 2

Wish Jtech had placed some kind of identifying mark or something to help us know which rev we have. I'm just not comfortable recommending this device to friends yet if there is no way to know which rev they are purchasing. As a general rule I really don't trust b&m's or online stores to guide my purchases. Been burned on batteries and box mods that way before. Cignot is the rare exception here; if Vicki says it's the newest rev I'd tend to believe it. But still, what would it take for Jtech to put a rev stamp or sticker somewhere?

This device design is ideal for people trying to quit stinkies. Easy to fill, easy to change CS heads, offers an rba option when folks decide to take the next step and battery life is good. But if it fails and they are dependent on it they'll go right back to analogs...Been there;done that. It's going to have to take a step up in quality before it gets the nod from me for noobs trying to get over.

So I have a question. Has anyone received a warranty replacement Egrip and had it fail????

I love this thing. I cant use the RBA at work - too much vapor. Just pop in the pre-made head while in the office. Its so versatile - a true one of a kind device.
I'm not sure the power output is true or not - I get a hotter vape at 8 watts and the premade coils than at 15 watts and the RBA. - I still love it. Looking forward to what they come up with in version 2.

I totally agree with your statement cigatron. My replacement is working fine, so far :D

Yes, ordered one the 1st day joyetech put them on the site, it was doa, the next one worked, great got got the rda loved it, then started having the charging plug trouble. Called joyetech they said sent it back for the new improved version. Mailed it bacon the 22 of dec. Have not recieved new one yet, have caled nine or ten times, got the machine and left 4 inquiring messages, no reply or email. About ready to give up and ask for refund and buy one from Cignot. It is funny they just won't answer the customer service phone any more and won't reply to messages. Oh well.....

If Joyetech were to make an Egrip 2, would changes would you like to see implemented?

I think they have the right idea with this mod and I love almost everything about it, but there could definitely be a few minor changes to make it even better. For me, I'd like to see:

-Display screen to see the ohms/resistance of your coil and a more accurate display of your current wattage/voltage amongst other things that could be displayed (error codes, battery life)
-A recessed and covered USB port similar to the way the juice fill port is designed. This would help from getting water/dust into the port when cleaning it
-Maaaybe a changeable battery? Not a must have but it would be nice. It would probably change the dimensions a bit though.
-RBA base that can make use of the device's built in air flow control so those of us who prefer a tighter draw can have that without plugging the RBA base up or modifying it someway
-Maybe a way to open the top of the device and switch out different glass tanks with other flavors easily? I dunno maybe thats a stretch but a girl can dream right?

I don't want anything that would make it bigger or heavier.
Incorporating the stock airflow into the RBA would be a plus, but I respect that their engineers are smarter than me and have already looked at this.
If improvements are made to this device, I think they will be driven by the competition. I'm pretty happy with it as it is.

I like it all K. Changeable batt or 2200mah non-changeable. I've had mine apart so I know there is room for the Istick batt.

I believe JTech and other manufacturers ARE reading our posts here, on reddit and other forums. They still tend to lean towards "knowing what's best for us" but I am seeing more of our ingenuitive concepts making their way into the lastest product offerings from abroad. Lets keep telling them what we want...you have not because you ask not...right?

NUMBERS ON THE DIAL.:glare:

Also, a display screen would be nice. Nothing fancy needed. I'd like a battery indicator, power/ohms checker, and error. I don't need a puff counter or timer...in fact those features on my IStick and Mini IStick are making me kind of paranoid, LOL.
-Better, longer-lasting, and more VG-friendly stock coils.
-Replaceable battery would be a cool option, but I like USB charge-ability.
-Better colors, or at least a wider variety of skins.

I know it's kinda moot now

I suggested cheap vodka. Something safe to ingest, if you don't get it all out of the tank. Not rubbing alcohol

Might just be me, but I don't want to put anything in my tank that's not safe for consumption

I know you did. One of the nice features of rubbing alcohol is how quickly it evaporates, so not a personal concern of mine.

We're not drinkers and I wasn't about to go out and buy a bottle of booze to clean a free eGrip out with.

Stay tuned....free Egrip #2 may be on the way. I'll be a little more careful this time.

- iStick battery
- side mounted usb port
- 5/6 ml tank - think the added bulk would be insignificant
- fill and vent holes arranged vertically for a larger fill hole to allow drippers
- larger chimney bore for dripping samples
- flat toplate for more drip tip options
- Either bore out the stock airflow and make the rba base utilize it, or better yet have a knurled protank style airflow adjustment
ring recessed into the coil and rba bases to allow fingertip adjustment.
- Keep the fire button/dial/charge indicator setup. Think the dial's too compact for numbers. Divide the dial into thirds, 1 matte, 1
brushed, 1 polished, each with 3 line markers. With the markers grouped in 3's it would be easy enough to tell where you're
at.
- stainless. Not a fan of the high polish. Hate chrome. Thought this was a stealth vape.

Well, since it only took me 20 minutes with a pin vise to modify this, I'm thinking their engineers didn't think about it at all

Hey Strings, when you did this mod did it give you more airflow through the rba with ALL the holes open? ie. rba hole plus egrip afc before you plugged off the rba?

I think it needs Dual 26650 batteries, DNA 40 chip, a phone, wireless charging, built in coil jig, and a 30 ml tank that fills and cleans itself...ahh never mind. Mine is perfect as is. Not a problem yet. Perfect airflow with the RBA base.
Well, ok, maybe a smaller lighter battery with more mah's would be nice, and black coating that won't chip.
