Don't give up on the RBA - Get a bunch of pre-wrapped, pre-wicked egrip coils from sweetvapes. They are cheap and they last a few days - easy to re-wick them if you want or just stock up. I can swap the coil almost as fast as I can change a premade head. Just trim about 1/16" off the wick, center it and vape. Its worth it the .65 cents every few days for a better vape. I would also advise getting the RBA 510 adapter so that you can wet and fire them before you install them because some of them start too low and wont fire in the egrip right away. Normally when this happens I just fire them on another mod and they go up to 1.2ohm and work good after that.

I actually did order a bunch of pre-build coils from sweevapes but lost the desire so just have them as back up now. It's just that i am actually happy with the regular coils and don't really miss the RB. If i do ever get back into, def will take your advice about getting the adapter and firing them to make them work, thanks!

I've got a question for all the coil builders on this thread....

Today i picked up an rda at a nearby b&m store, hoping to get at least a similar vape to my egrip+rba base, on a 20W istick, while i wait for the vendor to replace it.

Now....it turns out, this particular rba has some manufacturing defects, and I will be returning it, but that aside, i tried several different builds, at many different wattages, and many different resistances, and the only time the coil behaved anything like what I've seen in videos, was at max wattage. And the vape was just "meh".

So maybe i get why people need these crazy high wattage devices, but my old egrip was like a kick in the teeth, with a 1.4ohm single coil at 8 watts.

How does that even work out?

What ohm? What gauge wire? What atty?
Regardless, it's mostly because of the small airflow and tiny chamber of the egrip RBA. Just be thankful for the Egrip and the RBA. [emoji2]

Hey guys, just a little tip: I was experiencing "spitting" in my EGrip, both at the tail end of the stock coil's life and also with the RBA base (15 days on the same coil! WOOT!). I had the modestly brilliant idea of replacing the standard column drip-tip with one of the rotatable ball-bearing drip tips. If you keep it bent at an angle, it nips the "spitting" problem right in the bud.

In unrelated news, my VMOD XL bit the dust. It's not firing at all. I'm going to trash it. I still have a pile of atomizers from when I stocked up at the last Vapage sale, which I'll probably use for my REO mini. But...I don't want to use that either. I'm spoiled by the EGrip and my EMOW clearos.
Oh, rapidly advancing technology, you're a cruel mistress.:p

I have found (for me anyway) that the spitting was caused by a couple of things.... The first problem was caused by a hot spot on my coil. It resulted in a "POP" followed by hot juice hitting my tongue. This was resolved by coil maintenance (dry burn/compression of coil). The second spitting is accompanied by gurgling, and occurs at the beginning of a draw. This is caused by juice in the air chamber of the RBA. This juice can also get all the way through the RBA and come out the air intake. It is resolved by first removing the drip tip and wiping out all condensation in the chamber where the drip tip sits. Secondly by taking out the RBA and blowing the air passage out with compressed air. I also blow out the air passage through the tank of the mod with the RBA out. I do coil maintenance about once a week (I am using CC or Rayon wick) and go through about a tank a day. I remove condensation about once a day. I also use heavy gunking dark juices that are high VG.

So two weeks on with my egrips (now plural) and am still loving these little devices as much as the first day I got it. The flavour is just absolutely bang on. Vapor production is good, and the build quality is amazing.

I have 2 of the silver ones, which have been dropped, in my pocket with coins, keys and what not, and there is not a single scratch or dent to the body. A few light scratches to the bottom, but that's to be expected.

I suffer from the not so rare condition of shinyitus, and on the back of this device I find myself looking more and more at joyetech products. im definately gonna give the ego one (for the wife) and delta 2 a whirl.

Hated the istick build quality, but if joyetech keep producing products of this quality I will definitely be using them almost exclusively.

Why pay €140 for an erlkonigin when I can get the same vape quality from a device that costs a third of that. I seriously love where vaping is heading. Cheaper, simpler and better! As long as everything has a RBA option ill be a happy man. I love to tinker! [emoji1]
