Wow that is really disappointing , I am done using them until they make them out of SS. That is the last thing I want in my juice.

Well, you better stop drinking water out of your tap. Chrome plating is typically very light to non existant on the inside of faucets. Your fittings are brass too.

I can understand where stainless would be better but consider that your atty has screw threads that would likely strip right out if the material was high lead content brass. I don't think it is. If you're worried about high temps releasing oxides from the brass don't.... that is not likely at the temps we're vaping at....you would have to catch your juice on fire to approach those kinds of temps.

I'm not smoking cigs anymore....good anuff for me. Ymmv

Thanks I am worried about the parts of the RBA that are in contact with the juice and the plating that will end up in your juice and then being vaporized, I have seen the reaction of juice with brass and it is not something I want to vape.

The GS Air is eleaf's new clearomizer that they introduced to be used with the istick 20W. The base seems to be the same base as the stock coil base for the egrip. Since eleaf is a subsidiary (or has some relationship) of Joytech, I think that the bases are probably exactly the same. Some say the coils are the same, but I haven't found that to be true in the way they work. Plus the GS coils are much less expensive.

My experience with these is that unless you swap the top and bottom rubber seals from the old coil, they don't make reliable contact
in the Egrip. Not a big deal to do, and they are cheaper:)

I haven't had issues with the CS coils. let juice soak into each of the wick holes until they stop absorbing quickly. after install, plug the stock air hole with a finger and take some good primer puffs, no power. watch for bubbles, let it sit a few minutes, more primer puffs... I start at the lowest watt setting and work my way up, a few puffs on each, until I get where I want to be. had two that we stubborn, fluffed the wicking out a bit and solved the problem.

use them for a week, rinse, soak in boiled water, air dry for a day or two, and get another week - the second cleaning hasn't been as useful.

been vaping 50/50 cinnamons in my eGrip at 11ish watts, 2+ tanks a day. the CS coils have been working very well for me!

ffs!

Stock CS coil head: burns at even 8W
Aspire BVC coil head: dubious ceramic wick
RBA base: dubious plated brass

Is there really nothing care-free to vape with the eGrip?
I think the only aspire coils with "dubious" ceramic wicking material were the Atlantis heads. Don't remember hearing much about the Nautilus or normal BVC coils when that whole debacle was going on.

They have the same Ceramic as the Atlantis coils had, i have taken one apart. I hope all the heads start going to organic cotton like the subtank has and now the Ego one heads which are also by Joyetech.

The discussions started with the Nautilus BVC coil heads. Here is a summary: Aspire™ Nautilus Observations. The regular BVC wick looks quite similar.

Plated brass is common in many atties and clearo's. One report of plating coming off does not mean the plating is falling off every egrip rba base ever made. That doesn't mean it won't though. But it looks like a premature call based on one report from using a banana/tobacco flavoring.

My stock coils did not burn at 8W.

The Aspire BVC delivers a really nice vape too for a coil head, at low power. Have you opened one to see what the wicking is made of?

I love the regular aspire bvc coils. I have used em in my egrip. Right now it has the rba in it. I use the bvc in my silo lite daily. I love them. They made me put the nautilus tanks away because I prefer the flavor of them. I can try and take one apart to see wicking this weekend although you guys may have to look at pics and help decide the material. I'm not cool like that, lol...

Got my wooden eGrip today. Sexy little thing. But... How mutch wick? I made my own coil. 1.2 ohm .30wire around 1.7mm screwdriver. And inserted the wick into the coil , like I did with my kayfun at same ohms. But it starts to give dry hits after 17w on 3 sec puffs. How to wick this little thing?? Pictures, links or advise is welcome :)

Rivo...I don't know what you are using for wicking material. I use cotton. I have found that using too much cotton impedes the flow, and to little it floods it. When I push the cotton down the sides I make sure to cover both holes (lightly). I use very little cotton myself, it seems to work for my habits. You have to keep experimenting till you get it right. Everybody has a different draw time, type of juice, frequency of hits, draw pressure etc....Just keep trying different builds till you get it. Took me a few days but it was well worth it.

ETA. Forgot to mention that I have a spare RBA. It make it a lot easier to try different builds.

I'm finding rayon is the best wicking material in the egrip. Best flavour, stops any leaks and wicks like a dream. Pack the coil as tight as possible and fan the cotton all round the base. Can hit 20 watts and chain vape with no issues. I'm using a 50/50 pg/vg.

In fact I'm sure if it had more power it could handle it!
