Yeah, seems I'm one of the fortunate where all four holes are accessible. Machining variations in the threading is no doubt responsible for the location of the holes once the chimney is screwed on; worst case two located behind the screw posts.

joyetech could fix the variance by screwing the chimney on before drilling the holes but it probably wouldn't be cost effective for them or us to keep track of matched sets of rbas and chimneys. That said, when they are correctly orientated the juice flow charactoristics are excellent.

Yeah, I considered some teflon tape or something to adjust the alignment of the holes when the chimney was screwed on. I wasn't sure enough that it would matter to mess with it. It works.

My air holes are not together either. One on each side and the other two behind the posts.

Can i just clarify which air holes are you referring too? On the base when you take the caps off i have no holes. They are on the sleeve. Are these the ones to which you referring?

Yes the juice holes on the sleeve/chimney section.

Curious, lots of folks don't have access to all four.

Tomorrow I'm going to measure the thread pitch on the chimney to determine how much shorter the chimney would get if sanded down to allow it to rotate to the correct position. If too much shorter the chimney cap seal might leak. Get back to you.

I don't know how you get wick behind all 4 holes. 2 of mine are behind the posts. I can usually get 3, but not that 4th one.

I believe you can rotate the inside (build deck) of the RBA by turning the smaller screw on the very bottom of the RBA . It's in the center and /bottom where you would place a penny to screw the RBA in or out of the body. I turned it once to make sure it was tight and i believe it holds the build deck on.

Hiya everybody and sorry - hafta admit I've been neglecting posting in this thread - but I've been posting a lot in the eGrip thread in the Cignot Supplier's Forum with my eGrip experiences as a total vape noob.

I'm convinced that the alignment of the juice inlet holes in the RBA tube / chimney is the issue for a lot of folks with eGrip problems. Here's my exact post on that from the above thread.

I have two eGrips, two RBAs - on one, all four holes are exposed nicely to wicking when the RBA tube / chimney is screwed in tight to the base. No issues.

On the other, two of the holes line up behind the screw posts when the tube / chimney is screwed down. Minor issues, but have to get incredibly fussy with the wick to get it right (which I posted about here). This is causing gurgling at the start of the draw, and I would imagine all-out flooding for some folks, too.

The other issue regarding leaking with the RBA base: I will bet heavily it is the smaller slot around the air hole in the bottom of the RBA base. I posted on that here. I'll repost it for convenience:

"Have a look at the smaller slot around the air hole in the bottom of the base. That portion is a threaded sleeve that, when tightened, clamps down one side of the coil deck to the base body. On both of mine, they weren't fully tightened out of the box. I'm thinking a lot of folks are expecting this to be already tight, and it might be allowing for leaking if it's not. Bust out a little screwdriver and give it a tighten and see if that helps." And here's the pic from that thread:

Nope. That screw actually only holds one post in place

Honestly, I've had good luck with a small flat blade screwdriver (1.4mm).

I see... I do have a second RBA that I plan on experimenting with this weekend when i'll have some free time on my hands. Sanding the bottom of the chimney to line up the holes better might work, as long as it doesn't make the overall height insufficient to seal it to the air tube.

Mine don't line up properly either. But I haven't had any problems: I just use a very small flat screwdriver to stuff the cotton

I only ever cover two holes. No gurgle no leaks.
I don't even try very hard to cover those holes. Just shove it down right where it comes out of the coil. Two different rba heads. No gurgles no leaks with factory coils or my own coils.

I've read 1.2 ohms is the lowest, and the max power 20W can be delivered to coils from 1.2 to 1.5 ohms.

As long as all 4 seals are present, I think leaking and gurgling is all down to the wicking. I've been lucky, no issues, but have been running coils made on a 3/32" drill bit which holds a lot of cotton, and leaves a lot to spread out around the base. Today I cut my wicks with the scissors placed vertically up the side of the rba base, like someone posted before, maybe redordead or cellodick, seems to work fine.
