I'm torn on this device, while I like the form factor and size of it I just can't deal with the leaking using the rba base.
I stuck back in the standard coil head / assembly and my leaking issue has now stopped as so has the juice coming up thru the drip tip (within normal limits).

When I get a chance i want to purchase a new rba base kit and hopefully be able to find one with the correct sleeve hole alignment.

...When wicking is presented into the equation some things change. The wicking absorbs the juice and delivers it to the coil where it is vaporized. This drops the level of the juice in the atty juice well making it easier for the vacuum in the tank to pull an air bubble backwards through the juice holes and into the tank. That air bubble releaves some of the tank vacuum which allows juice to flow through the juice holes once again until tank vacuum increases again bringing everything into a state of balance...

Very well put cig. Thanks

G'luck.

And this right here are the gripes I'm having with the replacement.
Nothing should leak this badly and ohhhhh boy hot juice feels like spikes hitting the roof of my mouth.

Leaking with the rba base but not with the cs base.....
Thinking maybe you're missing the rba-tank seal? It's a thin clear seal located just below the chimney tube/sleeve on the rba base. There should be a couple of extras in your supplied rba kit. Hard to see and easy to lose little seal while cleaning.

Also have you made sure that the inner screw on the bottom of the rba base is tight? That has caused leaking problems for some folks too.

This picture might help explain the seal Cigatron is referring to. As you can maybe see, the one on the right is missing the seal. I posted about it a little earlier in the thread.

I've got two rba's. The first never had the seal pictured. I had some leak issues with this rba right after I first received both it and the eGrip. Tracked that down to left over manufacturing debris on the mating surfaces where the rba base seats against the tank section. Cleaned that up and no more leaks.

The second backup rba does have the pictured seal but have no leaks either with or without the seal. Seal-less rba has been in since midday yesterday when I twisted a coil and installed. No leaks. No attempt to explain it. Just reporting my own experience. As so often ymmv.

Why do your bases look so chewed up?

Mine didn't come with the seal either. No leaking or gurgling issues without it for weeks. I just installed one from a spent head for the helluvit though. ;)

This is like Sherlock Holmes, slowly narrowing down the suspect cause of the egrip leak issues that some have. Its not the top seal, its not the holes in the rba. There are 7 suspects left, 3 orings around the outside of the rba base, the seal between the positive post and the base of the rda (is your center screw tight?), the top and bottom seal of the glass tank, and the fill port seal. Let me know if there is a flaw in my reasoning.

Sounds pretty close. Of the three "orings" around the outside of the rba base you mentioned only one is an actual juice seal; the upper most clear color one. The other two whitish colored ones are actually electrical insulators.

Also should note that the fill door seal can be accidentally rotated 90° while cleaning. Did that once but caught it before I closed the fill door. I'm not sure if it would leak if rotated but looks like it would. It's rectangular for a reason I'm guessing.

I posted several a month ago, lol ;)

Since then I've rebuilt it using twisted 32ga kanthal, still spaced coil, still around 1.5ohm. Getting better flavor compared to the 28ga.

verticle coil egrip.jpg

Rutch - That's a very impressive coil build you got there!

My juice leaking from the center- the entire bottom of eGrip is wet from juice

Removing the rba base & the top cap stayed inside- Yes, it was on securely when first installed.

This is the pool of juice I get right underneath the drip tip- usually more than that tho.

Mine does have this seal. I think I deleted the pic I took of it so borrowed this one. :p

Try cleaning everything up real good, fill it, then stand it upright for a few hours. If it leaks more than a drop or two you have a bad seal somewhere. If it only leaks when you're vaping then you're probably flooding the coil due to insufficient coil wicking density, not covering the juice holes with enough cotton, drawing too hard or have the wattage set too low.

I've already done all this more than once. Maybe when I get some more time I'll do it again but I've got enough stuff to grab & vape that fixing this isn't a priority.
