So Cal
My first Egrip was thru vaporbeast. Getting it replaced was easy with them. Total of 2 weeks from the time I contacted them to receiving my new one. I've read some people aren't to pleased with joyetech USA

So far I've left two voice messages and sent an email. Their customer service doesn't answer the phone....

Getting them to answer the phone or return your call is the hard part. Tried 5 messages, no reply. Try calling them early 8:30 pacific time. Once u make contact they will take care of u. It is just getting them to talk to to u. Had 2 returns 1st was easy 2nd one took a month. Be persistent.

Thanks! I called at 8 again today and they weren't open, so I called at 9 and got the voicemai. Guess my email from yesterday won't go anywhere? It's frustrating.... I have to catch them before the next month is up or I'll be over the 90 days!

I'm sorry you are having such problems! No fun... In case they actually do take so long to take care of you, you should keep a paper trail of your posts here stating your issue and attempts to get a hold of them. This way you can prove to them you did NOT wait past warranty...

I had an email last night, asking what was wrong - that the lights didn't come on when it was charged - duh (it was well and truly dead at the time)! So of course I went to check it again - and voila it works now.......! The usb port is wobbly, and I might get that taken care of while it's under warranty. But at least they did get back to me!

Glad to hear you are getting somewhere with it. I've had to deal with issues like this and it can be soooo frustrating... I think you are wise to get the wobble taken care of before it's to late...

soooo, tonight when my egrip died and had to charge I decided to take back what was originally mine (egrip #1) since my fiancé hasn't touched it once since he asked for it in an effort to get vaping again... That was late December :( as much as I wish he would vape again and quit smoking, I am tired of watching that egrip go unused... Besides his old vape gear still works fine... IF he wants a set up to sit on his nightstand unused, he can use his other stuff... at least until he really commits to vaping again, right? Now I can rock two egrips and never have to wait for it to charge. During the work week it's not such a problem. On the weekend, I chain vape! Now, if I could successfully make a coil... ugh... I am happy to say, I think I finally figured out the right smount of cotton to rewick with!!! I love the egrip so much that so far no matter how frustrated I get with myself learning to use the rba, I am sticking with it... (ok, the pre made coils help, a lot lol) When it's set up good, it is an amazing vape!

My 1st attempt on vertical coil. 28 awg, 8 wraps 1.5 ohm. Seems to give better flavor compare horizontal coil.

for those that are not using the RBA, I’ve been using different heads for the egrip, here’s some of my thoughts:

Aspire BVC coil: really good flavor, I enjoyed every vape until i started to taste weird stuff. requires you to switch out the base with the CS pin to make it compatible, doesn’t screw in completely but not bothersome at all, still stands on it’s own. it was spitting a lot in the beginning, might’ve been my fault for drawing too much liquid in, once i broke it in it caused no problems. vapor product was small, i only did mouth to lung hits. lasted about 2 weeks before tasting weird. also was at the half-way dot for wattage.

GS air coil: fits stock and no need to modify anything. little more expensive than the BVC coils but still half the price of the CS coils. more vapor production, nothing like the RBA but still better than the BVC. flavor isn’t as good as the BVC, much smoother hits but there’s a loss in flavor. about a week in and it is consistent. i noticed that if i went too high in watts, it would give some good pop’s and the fire button would stop and blink halfway so i put it down a dot and had no problems after that.

CS coil: too expensive.. i might have no primed it enough but it would give off this off-taste with every hit. vapor was good and flavor was so-so, no reason to buy these heads again after using the GS air.

i bought a 5 pack of the aspire and GS air so i’m going back and forth to see which one i prefer in the end.

Questions/plz advise
when caring for a coil (mostly rba pre fab coils) and wanting to give it a nice long life what are some things you don't want to do to them? What destroys these coils? I have very little experience when it comes to the rba or coil maintenance and I am wanting to keep the few I have going until my order comes. plus it would be nice to know this stuff for the future so I can get the most out of each one. and in the meantime I am trying to learn how to make my own coils, I'm just not great at it... I suck at it actually... :(

A microcoil is not just the appearance, whether they're symmetrical or even touch…it's about what it does, the function. Super_X_drifter conceived the contact micro coil as close and intermittent contact winds short, i.e. go hot. Merely forming a wire into symmetrical shape does not give you the oxidation and performance advantage that a microcoil is intended to deliver.

Two ways to make one. The first is to torch it and compress it as seen in so many videos. But what completes the coil and insulates it from going hot is ultimately pulsing it electrically. This finishes the surface oxidation. Unfortunately torching it carbonizes the surface inhibiting alumina oxidation. It's uniform oxidation electrically that makes microcoils wail. I adapted a method long used in industry to make vaporizing coils using tension by hand winding in under 30 seconds. No need for torching and it's as uniform as nature can make it. It'll get ya where you need to go vj (and cheaper in the long run).

Good luck.

:)

That's because the GS Air & eGrip coils are the same.
