ECF has now updated the forums to integrate a new live chat feature.

You may have noticed the new Live Chat link at the top of the forum. Click on that link and you will be connected to the chat.

The live chat is a great way to talk about the electronic cigarette. Come join and start chatting away!

Note: For those that already have an IRC client, such as mirc, you can connect to the IRC server at:

irc.e-cigarette-forum.com
The port number is 6667

Edit:

Alex made a few screencasts on how to setup the different IRC clients:

mIRC: ScreenFlow video
Chatzilla: ScreenFlow video
XChat: ScreenFlow video

Odd, I just got this message. I don't think I've done anything out of the ordinary.

That is very odd..

You may want to PM Timtam, have him check the ban list, as if you've never been in the chat before how could you be banned?

We're still ironing out a couple little kinks here and there, Heh.:2cool:

Could someone walk an idiot through this Mirc thing, and how exactly one would join the ECF chat-room?

I have already installed and dloaded the program, quat now?

Okay, its actually pretty easy, but theres a few steps.

Start here; IRC mIRC » IRC add or modify server

Use those instructions to add a server, but heres the info specific to ECF

1 - the name, which shall appear in the list of the server
-Put in 'ECF Chat'

2 - the URL of the server
-Put in 72.20.38.123

leave the port 6667

And leave Group blank.

Hit the "Add" button, and Viola, now the ecf chat is in your list of servers.

Open your Networks (Servers?) list (I dont remember exactly, I havn't used mIRC in years) scroll down to ECF Chat, and click that, and you should be connected to our server.

join the #ecf channel (type /join #ecf in the text input line at the bottom of the screen) and you're in! You should be in our chat!

I hope this helps, I dont use windows, and therefore no mIRC, so I cant recall the specific menu names, or what the layout is anymore.

Sorry if I just confused you more.. Perhaps someone with mIRC can write "play-by-play" specific instructions (Including instrutions on adding #ecf as an auto-join on login?)
