I seem to be getting an empty chat everytime I go there.... I enter and an automated response comes up, saying I have entered the chat, and I can see idle users, but if I type in anything, there is no responses?

The live chat is great, but very often I get booted/dropped from the room and have to reconnect. Is the channel set up to kick people with high pings or inactivity between typing? Often I'll have high ping due to the Roku box in the other room streaming netflix movies.

A lot of the people go idle in there, most likely the ones that are always there, but not saying anything are using an IRC client that keeps them connected.
The answer to your question is no, the chat isn't setup to boot people with high pings, although if the IRC server isn't able to communicate with your computer within say 30-60 seconds then yes you will get disconnected. If that is occurring its most likely an issue with the internet connection unless multiple people are disconnecting at the same time.
