Hi, I've been vaping for about six months now (previously a sporadic social smoker / otherwise nonsmoker).

For the vast majority of this time I've been using Vuse menthol which I very much enjoy, but am attempting to switch to refillable ecigs to cut costs, as I burn through the cartridges quickly.

Anyway, I purchased a Buck Naked Skinny pen and some 18mg juice of the same brand a couple weeks ago. The flavor is much better, but there was no real "kick" to it. Assuming this was due to resistance (Vuse allegedly being 48mg nicotine), I purchased a 36mg mix from a local retailer.

Despite offering a nice nicotine rush and boost in attentiveness, the 36mg mix still lacks the aforementioned "kick" I got from Vuse - for lack of better words, a feeling of slight euphoria and relaxation, alertness, total clarity of thought and focus, and alleviation of mental fatigue, the combination of which is handy for staying as productive and engaged as possible with whatever I'm doing, even after work.

I'm not so sure that nicotine content alone is necessarily responsible for this "kick" now, as vaping the 36mg mix at the same frequency as I did with Vuse makes me a bit lightheaded, despite the nicotine rush / moderate boost in attention. Perhaps ulterior ingredients on RJR's part?

Are there any e-juice mixes that yield an effect like what I described?

Hello and welcome to the forum @opti. Glad to have you here!:)

Although nicotine is responsible for most of the "throat hit", PG is a secondary source. Flavorings (menthol/mint/cinnamon/spice) also can contribute to throat hit.

The reason Vuse ecigs and other "cigalike pens" (with disposable cartridges) use such high mg of nicotine is that they are very inefficient nicotine delivery devises.

eLiquid/Juice

PG = Propylene Glycol - the "flavor carrier" of e-liquid. A secondary source of "throat hit", but not as strong as the nicotine concentration. Some people have a sensitivity or even an allergy to PG. It's very thin.

VG = Vegetable Glycerin - the "vapor maker" of e-liquid. Used as a sweeter in many food sources, and also as a skin emollient. It's very thick. Often labeled just "Glycerine"

PG and VG are often used together in different ratios in e-liquid. For example, a 50/50 PG/VG ratio. Many juice vendors offer a range of different ratios as far as PG/VG.

Whatever you are searching for, you're probably not going to find it using an e-cig such as the 'skinny pen'. Not much chance. What they sell is either dreadful or dreadfully expensive for no reason.

1. Buy a good e-cig.
2. Step away from tobacco company products.

Those are the only two vaping mantras I live by.

...... good luck in your quest. :)
