my k100 just came in the mail today and I just gotta say its pretty neat. I am using a nimbus rba. I first tried doing a 5-6 wrap 3 strand twisted 30 gauge coil and the vapor is freaking hot. No matter what build I try I am only getting what I would consider an average amount of vapor as well. can someone give me some insight on some bigger vapor production, and less heat? Some other things to consider, I am using vg only juice and my batteries are sony vtc4's

Sand post in switch and in top cap. Top cap is pressed on. Going sub ohm will produce more heat, way to combat this is drilling out drippers caps holes. Too big will deminsh flavor. Make sure drippers top cap holes are lined up with coil(s). If running duals, make sure there is two holes in drippers top cap. Also drilling out ddrip tip or purchasing a big bore tip will increase airflow to an extent(depends on size of air holes in top cap).

so when you guys pull your cotton out to either change flavor or clean your coil etc, your coil keeps the same shape and form? I think that's part of my problem, because when I tried to pull my wick out after vaping for a bit, I couldn't do it without stretching and messing up my coil
Yeah, that's too much cotton. It might have been cutting off the wicking and was burning in the middle creating more heat. Burning cotton is nasty.

okay then another question as well, if im using less cotton then how do people get so many hits before needing to redrip? with the amount of cotton im using(which ive now determined is too much) I only get 3 or so good hits before I can taste it starting to dry. if I was using less cotton I could only assume I would get even less hits. im wrapped around a 5/16th drill bit btw

I've never had a Nimbus, but I assume you can add more drips before you flood it.

If the cotton is too tight in the coil, it chokes off the flow of liquid to the wick and burns it.

Make the cotton that's physically in the coil thin enough to pull through easily but leave longer "tails" so you can place them strategically in the deck so it can absorb more juice , holding it for more capacity. If the wick is too thick in your coil, no matter how much juice you put in there, it's not going to use up that juice. If the wick is thin enough, you can leave more cotton in the deck and get probably 8-10 drops in there without flooding while being able to actually wick it all up and have it go to your coil to be atomized.
