New mech mod user required reading

I just won a black copper Stingray clone, and am wondering about the best way to learn about the safety issues surrounding mech mods. I'm not specifically looking for info on this particular mod, but I would welcome any. I've started searching and reading, buy was curious what you all would consider mandatory reading, if there is any.
