My nem clone can't handle the weight of it and my pulse-g without the lock ring when setting it down. I sat it down without locking it and walked away, with it firing away for ? minutes.... Top cap was burning hot but no damage done. Took out the battery, it was fine, but I still hope I learned my lesson!
A side button mod doesn't seem like a bad idea.
Or maybe I should restrict myself to the MVP after the 2nd beer.

Ha ha! Not "drinking-drinking" just not used to turning anything off! This is my first mech, and the only device I've ever needed to "turn off". And I've only had it like 3 days or so.... Forgive me!

Ya, now, you knew this was not going to go quite this easy on you right ... :matrix:

Very common for Nemesis clones

If you do not already have one, get a fuse just in case that happens again. Also there are number of suppliers out there, including that slow Chinese one that sell magnet upgrades for the switches.

Personally, mine likes 3 magnets and no springs at all, others like the small gold colored spring and 2 magnets, still others do either of the aforementioned and polish the heck out of the moving parts.

Mine is an Hcigar, it was scratched slightly and had a buggered small spring, called 101 and they sent me another one right away (like mailed it 5 minutes after I called them literally) got the next one, no scratches and same problem with bent small spring. Unbent spring, buddy gave me 2 magnets and worked pretty well while I waited for the long slow painful shipment to arrive from china. Got more magnets today, ditched small spring added 1 magnet to total 3 and been using it happily all afternoon.

If you buy from the states, and they package 2 at a time, get 2 kits, both for the extra magnets and because they are somewhat fragile, you can break them pretty easy if you drop one on a hard floor.

Friend of mine recommended fat daddy vapes, looked at their site and they have lots of upgrades for various popular mechs.

I do something similar after a few drinks... just with an ego in my case. Same with going to bed, not worth the rude awakening from the fire dept. Lol!

Any one know a source for magnets in the US without a 700% mark up? I hate to wait on FT again, but $7-8 for 2 lil magnets seems a bit much.

I bought 2 of these magnets from 'FatDaddy' for my Caravela clone for $10.31 (after shipping).

My guess is that if bought in quantity and at wholesale, they might cost about a dollar for the two .... on a good day!

shakes head ...

I have made the mistake of not "Locking" the firing button when I was building on it.

Let's just say that it's just not a "Good Idea"........................

LOL, I've done that a couple of times too. Those little coils heat up pretty quick don't they!

I use micro coils a lot and squeeze the coils with tweezers after heating them on the mod. I've got in too quick with the tweezers while the button was still pressed. I find it really impressive to experience welding the tweezers to the deck with the PV!

The devil is in the details, those pesky little details. I always lock out the mod now while building on it

Oh I know Lol, my tweezers used to be perfectly flat on the tip now they are some sort of an Arch (Very much useless for holding single pieces of wire)

Yup, that's why I don't flame the coils in the tweezers any more. Much easier on them and works just as well to compress them in the atty :)

If you do not already have one, get a fuse just in case that happens again.

A fuse wouldn't have done anything in this situation. It trips when you pull too much current from the battery, either from a short circuit or a coil with too low of a resistance. If you have a coil that uses less current than the fuse's rating, the mod will continue to fire until the battery is completely drained.
