New Member after some advice

Switched from fags/cigs to vape - no problems so far (only a week), feeling better already (sense of smell and taste returning).
Got a simple Joyetech Ego C with a basic clearomizer and a couple of 650mAH batteries. Which gets the job done. But here is my questions
I am looking for a pocket sized set up for when I am out and about 2-4 hours of occasional use, I am thinking the same clearomizers (or more likely the rebuildable 1.8ohm version) matched to a smaller 400mAH sized battery?? Any thing I should worry about with that??

But I would also like something a bit more serious for at home, Still trying to get my head around the options out there, and where to get the various makes and models from. I like the look of the Innokin iTaste SVD (hoping someone can say what the general opinion of them is) But if there are better options please let me know.

Many thanks for any advice you can offer,
Loving the eCigs (already saved me money and I feel better)
Cheers Dave

Hi and welcome. Big congratz on the switch!!!!!!! ... It's nice to be free! Idk if this helps or not....but I just begged for help myself regarding higher quality options, but found it to be frustrating. I got alot of really good info from many vet vapor's if you would like to check it out as well. They also provide me with some awesome links towards some great kits, so I didn't have to hunt for pieces and parts, especially since I have no idea yet, what pieces and parts I needed. lol

As long as you are aware of the limited battery use of a 300-400 mah mini ego, nothing at all wrong with it for portable, pocket-worthy use.

For at home use, you might be ready to step up to the larger battery capacity of an APV or mod. These use replaceable, rechargable batteries in what is essentially a more durable battery holder. These mods are much more durable than eGo batteries (with an expected life time of just 250 charges), the replaceable batteries are cheaper (less than $10) and last over a year. Some of these use batteries that can last over 24 hours on one charge.

Reach4theStars,
Star indeed that thread will probably answer all my questions on a decent kit for home. Many thanks for the link.
Wow friendly place here.
Thanks

Anytime, I'm glad I could give back. You will absolutely love it here, everyone is so friendly, patient, and so helpful. One gentleman gave me a link on that thread to even another thread, to some good information regarding the same. Watch, we will both look back and laugh about how easy it all is, but being new, it looks so complicated...well at least it does for me. haha

............................ Hey man !

An APV is ultimately what you should be looking at for home use.

Some might recommend a variable voltage battery though for the time being, something like a Vision Spinner 1300 mah battery, which is the same type of battery as your ego c except it is a variable voltage battery, that lasts about 13 hours before it needs charging.

I hear plenty of people here at ECF that ask about a device for when they are out and about, but to be honest i don't know of any that wouldn't leak if you leave it in your pocket, bag etc. Some people say a Lanyard solves any leakage problems they might have had if they'd left their device in their pocket or bag etc. You can see the practical application a lanyard might have. So that's the only solution i have for you right now.

Those minis also come out with a range of volts available. This is a regulated type battery so it maintains the volt range of choice util it runs out of charge. This elimates the fading power crummy hits thing. Highly recommend. The top range so far as I've seen is 4.2 and this is a good range for better vape. It uses light ring to tell you what volt you're using. There are usually 4 ranges.

StevesCVO,
Many thanks that is just the kind of information I was looking for, As I said the out and about kit ideally would be as pocket sized as possible, and not only is the EVOD smaller than most, but it seems to get great reviews too. Looks like they are currently only available in the USA. So will have to drop them an order.

First of all....HI and welcome. I'm new here as well but I can tell you this. The "only" problem with this industry is the fact there's too many options. And you end up feeling you don't have, or didn't buy maybe the perfect device for "you" . I know I've been vaping since the new year and already own 8 different mods. Mechanicals, VV & VW devices etc. And yes a Provari 2.5, I think it's a must have if for no other reason people will stop trying to convince you that if you "don't" own one your some how missing out on the "ultimate" device. With that said, before anyone jumps me. Yes I love mine and don't know if at this stage in the game if anything will knock it off its perch. Maybe provape will do it themselves when they do finally introduce "their" VW device.
Anyway everyone has a budget. Best thing I did was start by watching every device review I could, All of PBusardo's and all Grimmgreens stuff and countless others, if they happen to read this id like to thank them both for helping steer me in the right direction.
Anyway that's what helped me figure out any narrow down all the options on what would be best maybe for me.
In the end its all a matter of personal preference and finding the stuff that just fits "you". But you can arm yourself with good information to start . That way you don't end up buying stuff you don't really want, or don't know you don't want simply because that's all the store had in stock at the time. Or just because the girl behind the sales counter was cute. (Or guy, don't want to offend anyone)
So have a good time with it, watch some stuff so your somewhat pre informed and go hunting, and happy hunting my friend.

Hi Dave,

Nice to see a fellow Brit on here! You can get the eVod at iVapour Elixir:

eVod MT BCC eGo Clearomizer

Great service, and the vendor, Toby, is always willing to help out if you have any queries.

Seems like you've gotten some really good advice for smaller devices/batteries as well. As for something to use at home, why not start with an eGo-C Twist? They're cheap, reliable, and they perform really really well. Get yourself a Smoktech tank and a dripping atty and you'll have all the gear you need to make a decision about what kind of setup suits you best in the long run, and all at a very low price.

I'm a fan of the ego set-ups myself.
I've got an ego t (650 battery) with a nova tank for day use and an ego v version 2 (1300 battery) with a nova tank for home.
The ego v is adjustable voltage for a better throat hit and has a battery meter. So no more batteries running out mid vape. Prices are pretty good too, got the full ego v set-up for £45 GBP.
The neck lanyard is a good idea too- no more leaks :D

Hi Dave and welcome to ECF. Another vote for the Mini eGo 400 mah. 100 mah= 1 hr normal vaping before recharge. Fires @ 3.7 volts and has the common 510 threading. I've got a 350 for short trips/ concerts and it's perfect. Smok Tek also makes a similar PV. Really kicks like a horse- your eGo fires @ 3.3 volts.

Shipping weight:28g
Size:length 60mm(2.36in)/diameter 14mm(0.55in)
Capacity:400mAh
Voltage:3.7v
Threading:510/eGo
510 Mini eGo Battery (400mAh,3.7v) [C-B7 Vision 510] - $10.50 : Healthcabin Electronic Cigarettes - Wholesale and Retail link just for info purposes
Best of Luck
