Hey everybody. I'm stoked about e-cigs. Yesterday I hopped on Ruyandirect and ordered 2 901 kits (one for myself and one for my wife).

My question is....as a guy who usually smokes up to a pack a day, and formy wife who smokes more than a pack a day....

How many mL of e-juice equals a carton of analogs...roughly? Has anyone figured this out yet?

I mean, if you count up all the drags on an e-cig, roughly how much e-liquid would you have to go through to equal a carton, or hell...even a pack.

Is what I'm jumping head-first into economical? I'm sure it's comparable to the price of analogs, but HOW comparable? I haven't seen any data on this as of yet and I'm curious.

Thanks for reading and thanks for this excellent forum. I've been lurking here reading posts for about a week and I'm already hooked on the idea of e-cigs even though I've never smoked one.

I am not sure exactly how much juice is equal to a carton, but I have read several posts here that say the average use is 2-3 ml per day. Also it will depend some on what strength of juice you use. As far as the cost. The initial set up cost is a little much once you get extra batts and attys. I think that after that, the cost should be much less than analogs. Depending on where you buy your juice, I think it will be much cheaper than buying cartons. There is a very good post on the new member section about how much liquid is equal to how many cigarettes and so forth. I will look later and try to post back on this thread to let you know which one it is.

I use the Prodigy and Screwdriver PV's (personal vaporizers) which use a little more juice than the average PV but provide a much more satisfing and hassle free vaping experience. Factoring in initial start up cost and stock piling cost for atomizers and juice, my cost is about $1.30 a day. Of course my batteries only cost $2 instead of $13-$20 for most PV's. Compare that to $8.47+ a day for cigarettes.

One post is the second one down on the new member forum page it is called :Converting to E Cigs with regards to Nicotine content. If this isn't what you are looking for then you can do a search and type in what you are looking for. Good luck!

Thank you, sir. I should've been more observant before creating this thread!

After reading that sticky, I feel pretty good that once I cut my juice with glycerine, everything should be fairly cheap in the long run (minus the start-up costs and the extra atomizers and batteries along the way).

Thanks for the replies, guys. I appreciate it.

By the way, have any of you purchased glycerine at your local supermarkets such as a Wal-Mart Supercenter?

Thank you for your insight. As you know, I went with the 901. Unfortunately, I probably should have done more research into alternatives such as the ones you mentioned, but I didn't. Oh well. There's no turning back now. :) I'm a 901 guy for the foreseeable future thanks to my limited income (which prohibits me from spending more money on starter kits all over again....at least for awhile).

I have read many comments about the 901 and it sounds like an ok unit. I have not tried one. I decided to purchase two joye510 kits to start out. So far I really like it. Good throat hit and vapor. This does seem to be affected by what juice that I use. I have not purchased any glycerine but also have seen some comments here. Someone said to make sure it has a certain stamp or label on it like usda or something. I can't quite remember what it was.

I was a 4-5 pack a day smoker and go through about 20 ml of juice a week.

How in the world did you smoke 4-5 packs a day 8-o That's alot of smoking... so glad you're done with that!

Tossing in my 2 cents... I smoked a pack a day and now vape 1 ml of 18mg a day. I am in the process of cutting my nic down to hopefully zero by the end of the year

You can turn the 901 into an even better unit by getting some manual sealed batteries for it. It should really kick .... then!

I know that EastMall.net has the new sealed 901 manual batteries. I would suggest you check these out for future referrance. I have not tried them yet.

If I could stick with one flavor for a whole day I might be able to figure out how much I use, but there are too many good ones and I switch up a couple times a day or mix a couple together. I smoked a pack and a half (plus some on stressful days) and I went through about 40 mls in 22 days, so I guess that averages to about 2 ml a day. Now that I've done my start up costs I know that I'll be spending less than I did on analogs. Even buying a couple of atomizers and batteries a month and factoring in juice it'll be less than half. I did invest in a battery mod so I won't have to buy batteries anymore and I'll be able to drip more which I was afraid to do much with my 901 battery that has a hole in the top. I know I don't throw away as much juice now that I have started using the Pyramid tea bags from Lipton since they wick so much better (you can find info on here on how to stuff the cart). Welcome to the world of vaping and to the forums!

    Hi,

I've been vaping now for only two days and am using the 901. Prior to this, I smoked about a half pack a day , along with nic gum to take breaks from smoking. Without the gum, I'd smoke a full pack a day.

My experience has been, that it is best for me to use a low strength solution and vape a lot. I've been vaping about 3 MG a day, two thirds of which is VG. I'm using the 18 mg strength juice and cutting it two or more to one, using VG (like using 6 mg juice). This, I've found tames my urge to smoke very well, while keeping nic O.D. troubles at arms' length. Also, it's cheap; about 40 cents a day for nicotine!

    Happy vaping,

    Jherek

It's an insane amount of smoking. Let's say smoking a cigarette takes about 7 minutes, on average. Literally chain smoking 5 packs (100 cigarettes) would take 700 minutes, or close to 12 hours of straight smoking. That doesn't include breaks for anything. He couldn't possibly have been finishing all of them. This feat would be next to impossible unless smoking multiple cigarettes at once. I'm not saying he's lying about how many packs he went through, I just don't see it being physically possible to pull this off, completely finishing each cigarette. Plus, I would be dead in a week of that if I were say, doing it as an experiment to see if it were possible.8-o Smoking a pack a day for about 15 years left me feeling pretty crappy. I can't imagine 5 times that. Scary stuff. Thank god for e-cigs, man.

My aunt smoked 4-5 packs a day and I don't remember ever seeing her without a cig in her hand except inside my grandmother's house where she couldn't smoke. Maybe that's why we had so many family diners at her house instead of my grandmother's. She pretty much had a cig lit from the minute she woke up until she went to bed at night.
