A happy hello to everyone!
Proud to say I have not had a cigarette now for over a week. Hooray! I am diggin this vaping though.
Last Saturday I finally lit a cigarette and took a drag then put it out and haven't had one since. It tasted terrible.
I have 8 unopened packs of Silver 72s sitting on the counter. It is great I don't even need them.
I know I am addicted to nicotine. Yeah finally someone figured out a way I can have it without the nasty cigarettes.

I was a smoker for 30 years. It is so great to say WAS.
I tried to quit about 10 years ago and could not take the withdraw from nicotine.
It was smoking cessation classes and Zyban back then.
It didn't work. I always joked and said I would quit smoking when murder is legal.
I really don't mind eating those words though. I was at 2PAD smoker.
If I could have smoked while sleeping I would have.

I thank my wonderful son for giving me a mothers day present of a Ego. Yep I had it for awhile.
He would nag and kid around with me a bit about using it. My son was a smoker and vaping helped him give up cigarettes.
He bought the ego for me and told me he wanted me to be around for his kids someday.
So I carried the ego with me and would use it a little. He also talked his father into getting one along with my sister, and his girlfriend. We have all given up the stinkys. I am so lucky to have my son give me a gift of my health the families health and our lives back.

I started using the ego a lot more last week. I bought 2 more of them from a local vendor for backup. I still have an automatic ecig from about a few years ago and it still works. I tried it but gave up because it wasn't as easy as the ego has been. This time I made the egos more convenient than my beloved Silver 72s. Eventually I started vaping more and smoking less. I use flavors I like. My son makes his own fluid and his Cinnamon is great! It is the strong flavor and a high nic level to get away from the stinkys. Incredible it was that easy. It is nice my coworkers and family say I smell good and not like a walking ash tray.

I had a confrontation with an ex smoker about the definition of a smoker. I just gave them the address to this forum. Thanks to this forum my son has read a lot here to help me and my family. I am happy to be hopeful about being a Vapor (Vaper) and maybe even an ex smoker someday. No pressure about all that.

Wow and the gear is awesome. I am waiting on mail for all kinds of new shiny stuff. I wont ever save the money I have wasted on the analogs though. That money is gone for good. I do know that I don't want to spend any more on the stinkys. The shiny stuff has caught my full attention though!

This forum is great. I have been reading pages and pages of info. I have learned so much.
So thanks for a great funny informative site! I look forward to reading here for some time to come.

Your post was awesome. Congratulations, and what a gift indeed! Holy damn, 30 years...

I admit, while I didn't have the analog habit for that long, I don't see myself having given it up without vaping.

I'm a fellow newbie to this forum. Everything here is just wonderful so far. I've already started threads with questions and received numerous informative, helpful replies. This is a great resource and I hope you continue to exploit it as I have! I think it helps lend strength to the desire to stick with vaping, etc. That is a nice bonus too.

Congratulations on a week of no cigarettes. And welcome to ECF. I started with a Blu and found ECF on my own. It is a wonderful source of information and a great group of people. Take your time reading and get involved in some of the threads and conversations. Ask your questions and you will get knowledgeable answers very quickly. It is a large forum and takes time to learn how to get around. Keep reading and asking questions. You will love it here.

I had the same type of experience OP. I first started vaping in April of this year. I've tried to have 2 cigarettes since then and didn't even make it past a few puffs. It was disgusting, honestly. I really enjoy vaping, and it's made me completely disinterested in cigarettes.

Plus, they don't make ecto cooler flavored cigs! :)

Welcome to the forum and what a wonderful post, you must be very proud of your Son and it really helps to have support from your family. My son has never smoked but he has been so supportive of me vaping and my husband is still smoking but vaping about half the time, so we have some progress there.
I like the shiny things as well.........seems that most of us here do! Congrats on your first week of vaping success and ........enjoy your vape :)

Great story! You should be proud of yourself and your family should be elated. It's great because, not only does vaping satisfy the smokers physical craving, but all the shiny tools and the tinkering can keep your brain occupied as well!

Most bad habits, when you stop, you don't have a fun, new hobby to replace them with, just a lot of hard work and willpower. There IS plenty of that involved here, but the rewards are SO worth it!

Congrats again and welcome to the community!!!
