hey e-cig forum,
I just registered, and at the moment don't have much interest in becoming a very active member, as I have just started vaping within the past week. this is my only reason for not making a proper introduction, and I didn't see a way for me to post anywhere else. please do move this to a more appropriate section, if needed.

here is my issue:

I got a ce4 clearomizer starter kit, and it was working great for about three days. after that, it started to taste burnt and bitter, so I searched how to clean it. I found a video that told me to just remove the nipple, fill it with water a couple times and shake it around. after that, dry burning the gunk off the burner. I did all this, and I think the vape would work now, but I am left with a very cloudy cartridge. it was scraped off pretty easily when I used a paper clip to put the nipple back in, so I figured it would be an easy fix by cleaning it with some isopropyl alcohol. this I just took into my own hands and didn't bother searching, which might have bit me in the ..... at first it began to look clearer, with the same process but with the ISO, but afterwards it is even cloudier! I've tried cleaning it more thoroughly with water, but nothing seems to make a difference. does anyone have any advice, or at least an explanation as to why my vape is now so cloudy?

The ce4 clearo is probably the worst, once its burnt it's a throw away. Plastic reacts with citrus/ cinnamon in a bad way creating fogged plastic and greasy delrin. You may not want to be a part of the forum but there really isn't a much better way to learn. Do not vape the clearo. I never use anything but hot water on any of my equip.

well, i now have two batteries for my ce4 clearomizer. how can I find other vapes with matching threads? and how can I tell a quality, reusable vape from another cheap one? thanks.

do you have a "LINK" to what you're using ?

most batteries are the same and have 510/eGo threads on top

the CE4 clearo most likely has ego threads

which will fit most all batteries

oh and hey, Welcome to ECF

What type batteries do you have? If ego style would try a protank 2 type topper with glass tank. That way you can vape any type juice without worries. You also need to learn about the coils in the topper what resistance is best and whether you want to always buy new ones or learn how to rebuild. The ce4 clearo has 510 threading which is most popular -look for things that work with that and toppers that have replaceable coils. With the replaceable coils you buy a new one for 2/3 dollars instead of the whole deal.

Welcome to the forum and to the idiosyncrasies of vaping!

The stress of getting off of tobacco and figuring out this whole vaping thing can be frustrating. Try to keep a sense of humor and bear in mind that much of the gear we use are little pieces of mass-produced plastic. Despite claims that some devices can be cleaned and dry burned, it may not work well or at all. My philosophy with CE-type clearos is to buy cheap, buy in bulk and expect a high failure rate.

As posted earlier, CE4/Stardust-stlye clearos are one of the poorest juice delivery devices around. Sometimes you'll get a batch that are terrific or you might get some that fry because it's Tuesday. It doesn't matter if it's generic or has a brand name.

Since polycarbonate plastic can cloud and crack when exposed to some juice ingredients, I suggest skipping it altogether. There are many inexpensive "glasso" devices around, so you wouldn't have to stop and think before putting any kind of juice in it. New products seems to come out everyday, but this can give you some insight into what styles are: Baditude’s Blog: Is it a carto? atty? clearo? I also have one about "tank cracking" juices. EEEKKK! What happened to my tank?

In the future I suggest not using isopropyl alcohol or vinegar to clean wicks - it can be next to impossible to get the taste out.

Cheers!

thank you all for the advice and suggestions, very friendly introduction to this forum! i think it is a 510, not 100% though. the link to the pen I have been using is m.ebay.com/itm/181321559595?txnId=1160873268008. i was using gummy bear flavored juice, which tastes a little citrus-y I guess, but it isn't anything sour strong. I do plan to get a protank 2, if that's what you guys are suggesting? right now I'm just looking for something cheap, reusable, and well working. again, I'm new to vaping, and am not trying to get too invested into something I don't know if I'll continue doing. I found a link to a protank 2, and it seems to only be about 20 bucks, which is what I paid for the CE4 and a couple bottles of e-juice, are you sure this will be much better? the clouding bothers me a lot; I'm a little OCD. if I hear good about the protank 2 then ill go ahead and place my order. :) thanks again, everybody.
