im kinda new here and and also with vaping... i use a smpl mod with a sanyo batt

just want to ask if a clone regulated mod is safe??(cause im planning on buying a box mod) i mean are they safe ?? because a friend of mine said mech mods are safer (if built properly)than a clone regulated mod because regulated mods have wires and if they are clones.. they say that the quality aren't that good

and does the material on the body of the mod affect the vaping experience itself ??

yeah i know i have dumb questions but please enlighten me

THANKS :D

Your friend is misinformed.
Regulated power devices have built in protection circuitry, far 'safer' than mechanical's which have no protection features other than the one between the users ears.

With the amount of inexpensive regulated box shape power devices there isn't any reason to buy a clone/copycat/fake.
The material used for the body has no effect on the vaping experience itself with a regulated APV.

No matter which you use, selecting the correct battery for the intended purpose is the most important saftey aspect.
Which sanyo are you using? (letters & numbers printed on the wrap)

That's the problem with clone/fake regulated devices, there is no way to know, no telling what is inside unless you know who made it or you open it up & see for yourself.
It may be identical to an authentic or may be junk.

Not really a good idea to use older/used batteries in a multi battery power device.
You'll need new matched/married batteries. I suggest 2 sets so one set can be in use & the other set can be charging & resting.

If you're new to vaping, going for regulated mods first would be recommended before you try your hands at rebuilding/mech mods. Mech mods are harder to navigate and you'd pretty much need to do lots of research before you're able to use it as it's intended to. Just my two cents worth :)
should i go for like a 30w mod only or anything like that?? i cant really afford 200w mods LOL
i have been only vaping for 5 months..

Here are a couple affordable options.

WISMEC Presa 40w Mod 2600mAh OLED - Black (Full Kit)

OLA X Hero 30w Mod - Black

The Ola X Hero will require you to buy an 18650 battery. I opted to buy two and an affordable single battery charger. My cost was a little more, but ultimately in the long run maybe not. The Ola X Hero kit for me cost, $79.42. As I said, a bit steep for me yet will probably save costs later on. You have to discern values like that for yourself as everyone has different situations.

Have shopped with Discount Vapers before. They offer excellent service, quick turn around shipping time, moderate prices for the value. I will probably shop with them again. Granted, at times I do shop other vendors to find slightly better deals. But that's shopping for you, you have to look around and find what values suit you. :)

what range of watts should i go for if i want to go do subohming in the near future.. i want to practise the art of cloud chasing when i get more information and when i can build my own coils

You can make use of Ohm Charts like this one here to give you an idea of what your watts and volts should be according to the ohms of your coils. Hope this helps! :)

THANKS GUYS :D
Decided to go for the eVic VTC Mini

just for the last question.. to produce bigger clouds on a regulated mod do i still have to build subohm ,,,or subohm for vapes are just for unregulated boxes

This is a good Vaping for Beginners playlist that you can learn from. You might want to watch the video on PG and VG to learn about which e-juice ratio will help in producing thicker clouds and getting the flavour. Hope it helps! :)
